This is not to take anything away from Robin & Maurice cause I would put them up there with anyone regarding songwriting proficiency! I loved the Bee Gees when I was growing up, but I was more of the generation that was obsessed with Andy! It's shocking to see this video (I know and love the song) and see how much Andy looks and sings likes his brother Barry.
There is a video on youtube showing the 100 top ten songs written by the BeeGees. They were recorded by surprising artists. Deon Warwick and Diana Ross plus many more.
Wikipedia has a page of songs written by Barry Gibb, and it says there are 203. And those are just the songs that have a Wiki page of their own. I don't know how many more he/they may have written which don't have a Wiki page devoted to them. I found a different website which lists 1,030 songs written by them (with or without the collaboration of others). Over 2,500 artists have recorded their songs. "How Deep Is Your Love" is the most covered of all, with over 400 versions. They always wrote the music first, then when they'd get together in the studio, they'd play the music and come up with the lyrics on the spot. They never wrote lyrics ahead of time.
When the twins were kids Barry wrote their songs but Robin started writing about age 13 and then Maurice. 90% of their songs were written by Robin and Barry or by all three together including those they wrote for other singers. One would come with an idea and they would work on it together with Maurice usually composing the musical accompaniment. Some were primarily the idea of one person, for example, "Massachusetts", "I started a joke", "I can't see nobody", "I've got to get a message to you", were Robin's ideas. Some were Barry's or Maurice's. They were a team.
I like their old music
Consider, too, that when they wrote this, Barry was 19 and the twins were 16.
They are just teens here. Keith Urban sang this in a tribute to The Bee Gees. Barry was there with his family and loved it!
Urban did an amazing version.
Aren’t they awesome!
And Maurice, yes Maurice near the end was doing the high harmony.
Thanks...I never caught that before

There is a video on youtube showing the 100 top ten songs written by the BeeGees. They were recorded by surprising artists. Deon Warwick and Diana Ross plus many more.
This was the 1st version I ever heard and it remains my favorite. ✌🎵
So much soul for such young guys! This is the version that gives me goosebumps!
I love this one, too. It is like they are ahead of their time on this one!
TOP 5 EASY ,, SONG WRTIERS NUMBER 1 ALL TIME
A lot of the Bee Gees songs were about love or lost love. Another one of my favorites from the 60s is Run to Me.
To Love Somebody, voices of pearl and silk. Incomparable. Robyn and Barry, and Maurice. Wow.
Harri, you should react to "Bee Gees Medley 1963"". Right at their beginnings.
Their first TV appearance was in 1960.
Wow! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Barry Gibb!!🎉🎈😘
