Damn i hate time limited missions, cuz i like playing TS more like sim city, with a nice base with pavement, walls and gates, and i can't do so with only an hour for such a big map :(
Holy shit someone who gets me! I do the same thing my favorite playstyle is to turtle cause I always take the time to make neat thorough bases. Then when I'm done I just amass a ton of armor.
I always found NOD more interesting than GDI. If you master NOD (which is hard) I always thinked that NOD is for expert players. NOD doesn't have that good attack troops but instead NOD have crazy good strategical advantage because stealth. You can put engineers to GDI base and GDI doesn't even notice when their important shit is taken. Base defense tho is better with NOD. I always loved to build base with NOD and defend it. In skirmish i didn't even bother to attack because it is so much fun to try defend that base to the very end when there is no Tiberium left. Then i make my move. Another style to play is stealth-operations. Put couple Cyborg Commandos & engineers to GDI base with stealth. NOD & cheap tricks FTW!!
Great video! I'm still playing this one now in 2021. It's a pity that once each ICBM was deployed, the timer don't reset so it's a rush, a bug perhaps.
The way I play this mission is a little more ballsy but then again, I only play normal. What I do is build a base, I use the Cyborg Commando, Bansees, Ion Cannon, and Multi-Missiles to assault the beacon on the far left and then I take the ICBM and sent it by itself with no protection to the right beacon and that usually gets the job done.
My strategy: Put engineers to GDI, sell Firestorm Defense and GDI Refinery > Take your troops to bottom right corner and destroy church to get some $ > buy rocket men to protect base. > Build couple Obelisk of Light to protect base > Train 2 Cyborg Commandos and take tanks and engineers with Cyborgs and go northbrigde. If bridge gets destroyed, you can fix it and when you destroy troops from north GDI base, steal that full Silo to yourself. After that the endgame is prettymuch 100% sure after you destroy GDI troops from another bridges. That's hiw NOD won second Tiberium War mofos!
I never experienced the mammoth mk 2/triple disruptor rush, even on hard. I did experience tons of other attacks, though, and had a couple groups of artillery as you did (as well as a few SAMs to take out large groups of jump jet infantry). I wonder if the mammoth/disruptor rush is triggered by the creation of the temple of nod? I didn't build one of those.
I cannot complete these mission. I have almost destroyed the base to the north east, and 2 of the ICBM launchers deployed. In the momment I deploy the 3rd launcher in the beacon to the north east I hear the message, "Primary Objective Achieved", the launching animation appear in the radar, and next I receive the screen message "Mission Failed" Bah? What I am doing wrong? I deployed the launchers remaining more than 15minutes in the countdown...
@@iCABALi Don't make an ass of yourself he was trying to offer a helpful tip. You could have said instead, "Oh I knew that, but in this instance it wasn't important." Or "Oh I knew that, but in this mission no harvester comes to the building." Instead you behave like an angry fat kid.
ffs why they couldnt use the original Cabal voice actor for the future titles aswell... There is just something so scary on Cabals TS voice that gives me chills
(I am not familiar with this particular game) Does that laser beam really kill that "refinery?" in one single shot? [I just remember in the first one (first Command and Conquer) Nod nukes destroyed just about everything within half a screen including the "Construction Yard". And then in Red Alert they toned done the nukes a whole lot.]
The Ion Cannon can destroy the Refinery in one blast, if placed right. But it doesn't have a massive area of effect. They rebalanced the super weapons in Tiberian Sun. The Cluster Missile can just about take out a Construction Yard and maybe a few lightly armoured targets, but it's nothing like the screen clearing nuke.
@@iCABALi I give up on this mission. I acomplished the deployment of the launchers with almost 15minutes remaining in the countdown and the same happens. I receive the voice notification: "Primary objective achieved", the launching animation in the radar screen appears, and so, the on screen message appears: "Mission Failed". I don't understand what is wrong. Is the most quick I can deploy the launchers beating up the offensive GDI forces and the North West base, near the last beacon.
@@iCABALi Don't worry, I found the problem with the acommplishment of the mission. Looks like the order in the deployment of the launchers is critical. First is necessary to deploy the 1st Launcher on the Beacon in the center of the map, near your won base. 2nd turn for the launcher in the North East. And the 3rd, and final launcher to be deployed must be the one in the North West point in the map... :-/
Hard mode is just...really hard. As in all RTS games, the computer always gets their whole base built from the start of the mission. You, on the other hand, must start from scratch, with an MCV and a few units. I usually play on Easy just to offset these unfair advantages.
Ryan ChurastheMGTOW not really, you'll notice the computer never actually attacks, they only send little patrols of a couple units. Even on hard they never send a real attack
jwck7 I'm just saying that they start with everything, while you start from scratch. And in Tiberian Dawn, I believe they receive an unfair advantage when they sell their structures...look it up!
I've never tried Dawn. But CnC games all felt the same to me, it's only hard in the beginning of each mission as you're setting up your base. They never launch real attacks like in Starcraft
jwck7 At least in StarCraft, they seem to be limited by supply. In C&C games, it seems that the computer has an advantage. Try attacking the computer in Tiberian Dawn and watch them sell an Obelisk of Light, and build a ton of stuff.
Really? All you needed to do was take advantage of the biggest game changing unit in the series. NOD artillery. Heat seeking rounds almost. Six of them carefully moved and protected from aerial units were more than enough to obliterate everything they faced. No wonder they nerfed them in the Firestorm add-on. They were unstoppable if properly covered
Five years late, eh? Oh well, chance is you'll still read this. I could write several paragraphs about this, but I'll keep this as brief as possible. Skirmish was terrible because the AI abused everything that caused guaranteed damage with no/little counterplay. It's not fun getting your stealth generator one shot by a missile ON THE FIRST TRY of the AI when it requires a precise hit to do so... Theoretically you can still play it online with an external program, but even then... some units are simply too strong. In addition to what I described above. The Campaign however was one of the most fun campaigns I have ever played. You don't have to worry about such unfair shenanigans as it does in the campaign, but the computer will still keep you on your toes. Worth it for the four campaigns no doubt.
Damn i hate time limited missions, cuz i like playing TS more like sim city, with a nice base with pavement, walls and gates, and i can't do so with only an hour for such a big map :(
Actually it gives you 1 hour for each ICBM. So 3 hours total. New timer starts after actual end
So all my rush was in vain! NOOOOO!
Yeah I used to hate this mission too. I wanted to build a big base too.
I am the same. I love making practical bases that look real.
Holy shit someone who gets me! I do the same thing my favorite playstyle is to turtle cause I always take the time to make neat thorough bases. Then when I'm done I just amass a ton of armor.

what I didn't like about this mission was that after you put the ICBMs down you don't get to clean up the rest of the gdi bases

how can you train two commandos when you can only have one at a time? just like the gdi super unit (mammoth mk2)
The Cnc3 Tiberium Essence mod has added the old music back in, amongst many other things.
I haven't played this game in years..
Really want to play it again, after playing Tiberium Wars again
Old memories are comming back..
17 mins is much better than my own performance. Could be better with that cyborg though.

I've played this level similarly a few times before, and this was the first time the MM MK. II attacked me like this.
that 1990s AI is starting to catch on to your winning ways, my friend ;)

Nod artillery is soooo OP...... But I loved them! XD
If you send an Engineer into a Refinery while the Harvester is attached you can capture both. Saves you money on having to build your own Harvester.
Thanks for sharing a basic tip that I've known for over 20 years.
@@iCABALi No problem bud. :)

Amazing music.
I remember the easiest way to win this game was to just spam light infantry and rocket infantry.
damn this brings back memories.
god i miss this :D
Damn that Artillery is OP as fuck! :P
Yeah ,in firestorm they downgraded it
you can also get it for free off of EA's website but you need to google an install wizzard to play it.

From doing the optional level beforehand.

that's because EA bought them and gutted them for profit

yes, like one year before ra2

You can download it for free (and legally), just google "tiberian sun for free westwood", it's the result from shacknews :)
i won and had time to wipeout all of gdi before the last orbit
Please just remaster this and red alert 2 as they did with tiberium dawn and red alert. Day one buy for me of they remaster it.
iCABALi!!! how to install a command and conquer tiberian sun hard????
please!! i miss this game!!!

With 3 hours and 1 poorly defended GDI base it was easy
