I feel like I’ve climbed the mountain and there you are, sitting with the butterflies and unicorns. This is my favorite video of yours. I could feel your joy working with the paper. You know I can’t work fast on my journals too. We give birth to them.
*Thank you so much for sharing your secrets. I can't wait to try them. 8 videos to watch, 8 videos, a 2nd watch down, distressing around, 7 more videos to watch
Lori Beth this is a wonderful tutorial! I could listen and learn from you all day. I have to see (as I'm a visual person) the texture then I want to feel it. I completely understand having days where you don't feel like talking, I have days like that too. Hugs 🧡 💛
Lori b - - I LOVE LOVE LOVE you - - I spend hours coffee dying and distressing papers and then PRESS THEM WITH A HOT IRON - and THEN grunge the edges - - this is GOLD - - thank you
What a great video! You are very good at composition and I struggle a bit with being a bit random and eclectic. I think I love the look and feel of the paper equally.
*I am right there with you on seeing the texture, then feeling, then hearing and I decided that before you said your order. Makes me wonder if everyone had to choose if the majority would pick the order we did . . . hmmm. Thank you for sharing your tips!!! I am going to apply them 🙂🙂🙂
Dear Lori B ❤ I love this video and have told my subscribers about your method and recommended your UA-cam channel ❤ because in my opinion you make the most enchanting journals far and wide ❤ Thank you very much for all your inspiration ❤ Warm greetings from Germany Susanne ❤
Susanne thank you so very much! I thrilled that you watched one of my videos and it is incredibly sweet that you mentioned my channel on your video ♥️ I watched it and wasn’t able to get an auto-translation from German to English so I watched and listened in German and it was so fun! I want you to know that I appreciate it so much and I have subscribed to your channel too!! ♥️♥️♥️
*Lori what a wonderful video that I think all of your subscribers will take something away from. I think that this video was the most useful to everyone so far. Thanks for the tips and tricks! 😊❤
*I think feeling the texture is first for me then seeing. The only time hearing a texture is good for me is if I'm holding a softcover journal. Using the Amazon envelope as a softcover has a great sound to it. I love the stitches you made. Thanks for all the tips!
I love this video, so much information…thank you for sharing…🩷 I also have arthritis in my hands. My brother gave me a pair of fingerless compression gloves and they really help me when I’m hurting.
Thank you so much! I’ve tried using the gloves, but they do t really help me. I may start wearing them while I’m sleeping so thank you for the reminder!! 🩷🩷🩷☺️😘
This helped me think more about the layering of papers. Thank you for showing your secrets. I will be watching tv and rolling those papers. My order would be seeing, feeling, hearing. Because I love them all but seeing the texture is what draws me in then I just have to touch and feel that texture then from the feeling comes the sound that pleases my ear. So yes I guess this is my order 😊
This was a great video and I love the sneak peek of your new journal, Sweet Sister! I learned a great deal and I really appreciate your sharing your advice on aging papers.
This was so very helpful. I have noticed when I really touch my papers a good bit, they become soft and I enjoy that feel also. Seeing texture is my #1 but am thankful for feeling and hearing it too. I am not fast either and I enjoy the process & the thinking part so I totally get what you are saying.
What a great video, thank you. Just found you and have subscribed. Cant wait to see the flip through of that gorgeous journal. Loved your comments about "no peeking, I know you're peeking" too. 😊 You have a lovely style.
Absolutely love this. I love that you take the time to show us your creativity even though it's not your thing to do. I truly appreciate that you do. I am a very tactile person, but if I couldn't see it then even with the texture I wouldn't know where my colors or non colors were on the page so I would definitely go with visual. Love you friend and thank you so much.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and it was certainly not boring. I've done all those things at one time or another but you've just joined the dots to make ageing papers a complete process. I can feel some paper rolling in front of the tv coming my way. Giving them a light spritz of water first may make it easier too.
I really enjoyed watching this. I will have to try this on the edges and I learned something else today. I did not know they made exfoliating wipes. I love this piece, both sides. Question? How did you dry your flowers? And next time you need blue just go get yourself a bunch of flowers, although blue would probably be on of the harder to find
Thanks I do that too or I freeze them for eco dying. You’ll get a kick out of this . Before we mowed the grass for the first time this spring, there was this huge clover ☘️ patch. So while one of the dogs was rolling around in the grass I was looking and found a 4 leaf clover 🍀 in like 2 mins and then found a 2nd 4 leaf. I told my son and he went out and found 2 four leaf and a 5 leaf. And there has been since then altogether 4 5 leaf snd a bunch of four leaf. Really strange right so I’ve been pressing them in books. We even find them after mowing
*Thank you for sharing. Question: Love the blue printed paper...is it a digital kit? My favorite color! I am a slow creator too, I take too long to audition my pieces as well. And of course...you KNOW I LOVE this journal 🙂
Love it , you are so cute! “ Am I yelling! “ lol as far as the texture thing I like to see it first then feel it then hear it. Your journal is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent! 😊
Hi Lori B!!! This was a wonderful tutorial!! Your so sweet to reveal your secrets!! I just love your beautiful journals and it shows that you take your time to make sure each one is perfect, nothing wrong with that!! I am guilty of losing my patience and want things done yesterday, not always but sometimes yeah. It's a curse I tell ya! lol I hope your cough improves, have you ever tried Delsym cough syrup? Feel better sweet lady and thank you kindly for the great video!!!
Just found your channel and this was a great video …I’ve watched probably hundreds of aging paper videos and none of them used a baby wipe to enhance the texture…love it!!! Also God teaches us in the Holy Bible that the eyes are the windows to our soul but I’m very much a touch and sound person. Love that over the page notebook at the end. Have a blessed Sunday 💞
Another sense that I associate with books in general is smell. Some are lacking, some have a old, but pleasant aroma, and some are a little musty or really musty, many inks have a smell and some glues. And yes, I thoroughly enjoyed this video!
*don't throw away the wipe. They make great tassel fibers, also they can be used in layering. I also use them to clean off my stamps and use the "dyed" wipe in tassels and clusters
Hi Lori, i love your secrets many thanks to you! Please can you tell me where get your wonderful Papers...they are Downloads??? Hugs Kerstin from Germany
Hello! Yes most of my papers are from Etsy Shops. I have so many! If you are looking for a particular one if you can describe it to me I can possibly tell you which seller I bought it from. Thank you! 🥰
@@rustyattic4319 I was working on a journal called Sweet Sister so those papers are from a lot of different Etsy sellers. Have you tried the technique of rubbing lotion on both sides of the paper, then balling it up a couple times then straightening them, let them dry. Maybe you show it in this but I’m only half way through the video 😬.
