Both Orange and Purple have very similar meanings in Canon (mostly because Orange was not part of the Canon for like 20 years).
It's basically that both symbolize the balance between Light and Dark Side, but

      - Purple defined aligning more with the Light Side.

yeah I came in here confused wondering why he was calling it orange and seeing other people seemingly agree with him. Like we watched him make it bleed which has already been established. To add to the above comments, my personal theory, at least for Cal’s sake, is HIS own Kyber Crystal would either be Orange or Purple due to him “Embracing the Darkness”; this COULD eventually turn into either Righteous Fury (Orange) or a mastery of Light and Dark (Purple).
In regards to Dagan, when I first seen that scene where he bleeds his Crystal, never was there a thought of “wait, is that orange?”, then I say this video and was like 🤔🤔🤔??? Are people watching a different scene than I?? Lol. Like I said in my original post, it’s a good theory, just the biggest hole in said theory is the saver definitely being red not orange.

I had similar thoughts on the yellow saber, though i don't think it's a "rightious fury" but rather a twisted sense of rightiousness. He saw the temple as a symbol of the Jedis power, one would argue is a Sith trait. His blade remained yellow until Cal released him as he still saw the Jedi order as Just, but when they abandoned the temple he saw it as a sign of weakness and was driven for power to get the temple back. In other words, he didn't desire power for himself like a true Sith would, but rather desired it to restore what he considered to be a symbol of the glory of the Jedi.

I think limiting the cause of a crystal’s color to the “stance in the force” of the user is frankly a little absurd, if not downright silly. If so then sabers handed down or used for lengthy periods might change colors as their users relationship to the force changed, which clearly could and did happen (Revan anybody?) yet its never commented on. In our Star Wars Force Users RPG orange sabers weren’t inherently evil because red is close to orange on the spectrum or color wheel (silly, since red green and blue and blue i believe are all primary colors), but because of the compassion of the jedi using one, which I prefer to Disneys whole theory of kyber crystals.

Lightsabers yellow in colouration are often wielded by those who are honorable and trustworthy, always fighting fairly and with a strong connection to the light. The orange crystal is likely most often bled from a yellow saber as their fall to the darkside has more understandable intentions, not because of a lust for power but a strong passion. I suppose Anakin didnt have a yellow saber because he was always committing war crimes.

I hope they have a really good story line behind the orange saber. More than just bleeding a yellow crystal. Because many temple guards fell, and Sideous and Vader would have had access to yellow crystals to make orange blades, and so would have the inquisitors. They had a whole empire behind them to be able to locate these crystals. So it was a matter of choice for them... that means for some reason they felt the red was superior to orange OR they couldn't make a orange from the yellow. Because if they could, why didn't they if they didn't find the characteristics of the blade better. So there must be a more philosophical or dogmatic reason, like the modern Jedi could make yellow, the modern Sith must not have been able to do orange because of their beliefs or practices. Not just a matter of turning X crystal into Y crystal because "bleeding".

Anakin lost his Saber on Mustafar.
After already being put in the armor, Palpatine - who had 2 - borrowed him one of his own Lightsabers, so he could hunt down one of the Jedi.
When Vader did so, he took that Jedi's Kyber and bled it.
Then he created his New Lightsaber.
      There was nothing in-between that.
Hell, if I remember right, all this happens on a span of just a month or two...
Edit: regarding pre-Vader, we also know that Anakin only had 2 Lightsabers during his life - his padawan green, and his jedi blue.

@@TheCursedCat1927 i think you missed the theoretical or "what if" aspect of my comment. I'll say it like this: if padme ended up living, it's possible anakin could have ended up with an orange when he bled whatever crystal he ends up with (the specific scenario isn't really important. Left with padme, overthrew the emperor, restored democracy but still hated the jedi, etc. IDK). With padme alive, he would have something to be righteous for while still tapping into that sweet darkside power. he could learn about the bleeding from the restricted section or maybe some holocron idk.
However, since padme did die, the only color option is red and that's exactly what he got. Not to mention vader was still under the impression he killed padme when he bled his crystal... I think. Don't remember.
Edit: oh, and I guess I was also saying it might also have been possible for him to have an orange blade if he bled his original crystal before padme arrived on mustafar because, at the time, his goal was still to use the darkside to save padme.

That could still be the meaning of the orange blade but instead of it being created through the bleeding it's just the natural color the kyber will take when attuning with someone who feels this way or maybe it's the natural color of a darksider, we'll have to wait for Ahsoka to find out

I can finally watch videos of Survivor without fear! I could've watched this video a week ago, but I decided to hold off until I finish the main story.
I think a crimson blade comes from two sources (mixing both legends and cannon in this theory). One; from the bleeding effect. Two; from synthetics. However, red can only come from fully embracing the dark side. Letting go of everything related to the light to embrace power and self-preservation.
Orage/blood-orange can come from similar methods, but by giving into the dark side while still clinging to the light in some way. Ignore what we know about colors and think about how the force effects the universe. We just witnessed the creation of a blood-orange blade and we know how to get a red blade. It's not a result of mixing two different colors, but more like adding a new ingredient to get a new flavor.

I believe there are still natural orange crystals. In the first game you can get an orange crystal and it looks different than the orange made with bleeding. Cal's crystal in the first game that you get could turn orange as well as many others. This is because maybe some Kyber Crystals can become rare colors like orange cyan and even indigo. But these colors might require extremely rare personality traits to manifest.
I dont know what naturally orange crystals represent, but based on the wielders of Plo Kun and Yaddle I would say tremendous courage and strength of will regardless of using violence. Many Jedi feel courage on the battlefield but yaddle and plo kun do not dispair even when things seem the darkest. Plo Kun when he was stuck in that life pod in TCW, he never gave up and kept on believeing hope would come and telling his men he cared about them and they weren't just clones. Yaddle spent 100 years imprisoned and she was able to forgive her imprisoners rather than giving into her fear. Her only concern was with making the here and now better. Both Characters never let fear rule them even when the force or a lightsaber could not help them. Almost like an extension of yellow. This would also make some sense for Cal and Starkiller but less so as they seem more violent. (sorry I have some problems not mixing legends and canon but I think they expect us to fill in the gaps)
one last thing Id like to say is I think there is a difference is visuals between the failed bleeding crystals and the natural orange. The failed bleeding ones look dark orange and almost red (because they are red lets be real) and the natural orange ones look more light orange and closer to yellow.
