This channel is great. The music Twan covers was an essential part of the soundtrack to my youth (born ‘79). I had completely forgotten this Trance gem, a classic. Love the interviews, thumbs up from me!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm from 1975 and since when we grew up, there was no internet, so there are so many great and untold stories of all the tracks we did listen to when we were young. So that's the reason I made this channel hehe :)
muzikxpress judging by the comments I’m not the only one. Your approach and execution are as good as any journalism in the mainstream. It looks as though many others are like me and don’t only love these tunes but have often wondered how the creative people behind the hits came up with these tunes and also what they produced them on. Bendigedig 👍🏻
Feeling This Way was the first record I ever bought and one my all time fav club tracks when it dropped. Every time I hear it a flood of emotions come over me and im immediately transported back to 2000/2001.
Just an amazing record; nothing sounds like it even up to 2020. There's no set you can play it in where it doesn't stand out and is instantly memorable.
Wow, just discovered this. Such a great tune. Didn't realise it was a UK production; thought it was a trancey spin on an old Chicago house tune. And Adam Pracy - what a nice guy.
Another amazing interview! After all these years, I've finally found out why 'Sunshine' was never released, especially after Judge Jules was playing the track on his BBC Radio 1 show. Glad to learn that the track was given away for free on their SoundCloud page; I can finally listen to it again after 20 years. Can't believe 'Feeling This Way' was co-produced on a Commodore Amiga :) And Propellerhead Software 'Rebirth RB-338' software (great piece of software). Looking forward to the unreleased Conductor and the Cowboy tracks :)
Thanks Michael! And yeah, kinda sad they did work so hard on all these tracks that never got a release, right? But great that Adam is giving them away! What a champ ;-) Can't wait for more of the unreleased material and of course for the brand new stuff he's working on!
Nice one for doing this one Twan! I started clubbing in 99 and I first heard this on Boxing Day at Cream when Judge Jules dropped it! The whole place erupted! Keep up the great work fella.
When I saw the title of the video, I was already humming out the melody and lyrics "feeling this way.. makes me like falling~" before clicking to watch. I used to jam to the Solarstone remix a lot back in the day. Then recently in the 2018, a new remix labeled ID - ID (White) played on ABGT episode 303, and I was the only one in the live chat who recognized what the vocals of the song was. Interesting to hear more of how the the label side of the scene handled things over the years.
1 of my fav interviews to date from you Twan, love the back story to this, it's a record I have treasured since it came out and 1 of the very first in my collection.
@@muzikxpress Indeed, Adam is a great guy very down to earth, love that he worked in the gaming industry too, I'm sure I have played some of the games he worked on.
I have just remixed this track and Adam loves it and has sent me the original vocals and files of it so I could sort it properly. He's currently helping me put the finishing touches to it ❤
Oh another interesting interview 🤩😁🕺✌The conductor and cowboy name I think I've seen in many 90's Cassettes/CDs, gotta learn about them now🤔 ... Wow, Muzikxpress team you guys are genius 😄when I thought I knew each and every music band/djs from 90's, you guys surprise me everytime😁🙌thank you for this interview 🤩👍
Would love to see Jules and Paul Masterson Interviewed, between HiGate, Yomanda and their other Projects, they created some of the best Trance of the Era
I don't have a travel budget for these vlogs, but once Paul Masterson is coming to The Netherlands, I would love to sit down with him and talk with him about at least 1 or 2 of his projects. (He's actually the one who took care of most of the production part FYI). Already spoke to Paul on FB a while ago and he's up for it, so fingers crossed he will visit The Netherlands somewhere in the near future ;-)
If that could ever happen then I'd love to see that. Especially Paul Masterson as he's produced so many great tunes under different aliases and collaborations! Dont know where he is based these days but if budget ever allows or it could easily happen it would be a great vlog!
electronomist I would need flights, hotel and other transportation, so most likely not going to happen.... I hope he does visit NL in the near future though.
Great interview - always interesting to hear from these producers from 20 years ago who had some success but then kind of disappeared - great to hear he is back producing now though :)
Thank you very much! And yes, I agree hehe! I'm happy Adam was willing to share the story, kinda sad they were working so hard on new material, while the A&R manager wasn't really helping them. But very glad he's back in the studio working on new material, can't wait!
Some of my best clubbing memories are attached to this trance anthem. I remember listing to a debate on Radio 1 about whether Laura was saying "feeling" or "being". Nobody could decide. P.S loved the interview.
Really liked this track and was pleasantly surprised when an Octamed snippet came up from one of my vids! Sorry to hear Adam spent 15 minutes doing a volume slide, pressing the Amiga key and the O key automatically does it for you between two volumes in seconds.
@@muzikxpress Yeah no worries at all, really enjoy your channel's content and to see some of the artists behind the trance tracks I knew and loved. That clip was OctaMED Soundstudio, which is a newer than OctaMED 4 (many people prefer 4 to the later versions and it looks more badass too!). Also, not many know about that shortcut, it was towards the end of the manual.
@@RaveyStabs Hey there Mr Stabs. 🙂 I am a big fan of your content sir. Cheers for being cool about Twan using a quick clip. I specifically selected this clip because it was OCTAMed Soundstudio, which is exactly what Feeling This Way was written on. (think the midi support was better in SS, I know there was a reason I prefered it) As for that shortcut, I thought it was for internal Amiga samples, not midi data/midi volume slide? I might be wrong and happy to be corrected though. However an auto slide between 2 values would be a straight slide between those 2 values and not allow for me to effectively spline that data into a more musical volume swell /crescendo. 😁 (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it 😝) please keep making your awesome content. I often find myself on your channel and for obvious reasons now. 🙂👍
Yeah he did a remix which was on the official release and an instrumental/dub remix which 10 copies were only ever pressed. Paul Van Dyk opened his famous set from Home in Londonivr on BBC Radio One essential mix in April 2000. Almost 21 years ago, unbelievable.
This was actually the second vinyl I ever bought. The first was Ferry Corstens remix of Libra pres Taylor - Calling Your Name 😎 Always found this record particularly difficult to mix with. I was never quite happy whether it was mixing in or out.
Great interview, although I don't know this project. From what I see on Discogs they have done only one song. But I must admit that this is a very good song with the typical sound of the early 2000s.
It’s a long time ago that I started to listen to trance and that I missed serious journalism about the genre. Your channel fills this gap after so many years. Thanks so much Pieter for the kind words! And tbh, I've heard the track before, but the name didn't really ring a bell to me hehe.... Nice one! It did tick some important boxes, it has that certain chord progression that still saturates pop music, and it’s a duet which is nearly unheard of in vocal trance tracks.
Let's not forget, the lyrics had to be clever, they had to be about love without actually using the word love, we wanted to hint at it and let the listener join the dots for themselves. Those lyrics were then set to a melody, which was then sung and recorded by both vocalists before being returned to me. It's never as simple as it sounds. 😉❤️
Ah mate, if he's got some old trance he hasn't released I would be honored to listen to it. I'd even pay to listen to it, but the problem is the copyright isnt it? maybe a live stream on youtube where people can donate? then release them afterwards for free?

Hi Jon, sadly that's not how it works. You get paid on selling music.
