    I can't say enough about the quality and depth of your playing and instruction. Your passion for the instrument is palpable and contagious. Your daughter did aspiring guitarists everywhere a real solid by convincing you to dust off that axe. Welcome back!

    Very cool, the solo on T.M.L absolutely smokes. One of my favorites. I usually like the heavier stuff but Loverboy's rock songs have always been my guilty pleasure. Thanks for sharing

    I know Loverboy wasn't as heavy as many other groups of that era, but this is definitely an awesome riff, and my favorite by them.

    I went to a Day On the Green back in the day with Iron Maiden opening, Scorpians next, Loverboy, and headlining with Foreigner. Loverboy kicked ass! They got the crowd going and rocked out! One of the best concerts I had been to. They were a tough act to follow. When Foreigner came back out for their encore, half the stadium was gone. Awesome lesson. Thank you!

    If you bar on the first for the F, you just need to bring your pinky down for the chord on the high e and b strings, where you said it was tricky to move to.

    Oh this brings back memories, even if it's not the original recording. Loved this and Harlequin, Streetheart, Headpins, Queen City Kids. Thanks for this Kelly.

    When I think of Loverboy, two songs jump out for me: Turn Me Loose and When it’s Over. Always wanted to learn the intro to Turn me Loose but never got around to it, so much appreciated for the great lesson Kelly!
    Thanks also to the requester!

    Saw them like 4 times in the states. Great live shows! The females in the group would bet on what color Mike Reno's leather pants would be.

    This has the potential to be an excellent tutorial. I needed you to slow down on those licks and break them down better. Especially the third one with all the pull offs. It is accurate but you blow thru it so fast it's hard to follow. But thanks for posting. I'm just trying to give you some feedback to help.

      Here's some feedback- listen to how it sounds when you play it, and keep working on it until you make it SOUND alike to the recording!

    Am I missing something, it looks like you're playing a Gm to an A# and the same with the F looks like an Fm without using your middle finger. What am I missing? Or is it because you never strum down to the G string?

    • @KellyDeanAllenGuitar
      @KellyDeanAllenGuitar  Рік тому +1

      Not sure what you mean. Three finger power chords with ring finger on the 5 and pinky on the octave. No need for middle finger.

    • @alfredocuomo1546
      @alfredocuomo1546 Рік тому +1

      Ok that's why I asked because usually when I play a power cord I would base it off an E chord and move it to the fourth fret and bar the third fret for a G Major if I wanted a Minor I would use an Em which would be just removing the middle finger so the three finger bar chord for me would me a minor, but that would be a moot point if you never hit the G string or am I nuts. Thanks for the reply@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar
