Trying out the Rust-Oleum Turbo Can…. Not Bad

  • Thought I would try the "Turbo Can" from Rust-Oleum. What attracted me to the product was the wide spray pattern. This product worked great. The only issue i hade was that a lot of the paint came out fast. I had to learn quickly how to spray with this can. But, I had great results.

    Keep your overlap tight. Use a 75%overlap and you will get zero blotchiness. That's the problem with rattle cans. It's hard to prevent blotches but these turbo cans solve that problem by giving a decent spray pattern size but you still have to have a good overlap to prevent the blotches and streaks.

      Gloss black requires maintenance on a weekly basis to remain looking good. If you don't wax it weekly and polish it once a month, it'll look dull.

    • @motov8-garage832
      @motov8-garage832 7 місяців тому +1

      @@NickZ-dn7cr You must not have had anything painted in flat black for very long.
      It's harder to maintain more then anything, it can and usually does start getting some bad spots and blotches all over.
      Then if you graze it with something, it's very noticeable. Also if you try to clean it and rub a little to much in spots it turns into glossy spots.
      Flat black does look cool Imho, but after living and learning I'd rather have a gloss black paint job. It'll look good for many more years if you take care of it.
      Having a good clear coat and buffing can do wonders.

    • @derektrieglaff9103
      @derektrieglaff9103 6 місяців тому

      @@motov8-garage832you can just as easily do a good flat black paint job by laying down a good flat basecoat and coming back over it with a good flat clear. That will protect the paint and still keep it black. And it will not fade and become blotchy. I think people who do flat paint jobs don't realize that flat paint needs a clearcoat just as much as a gloss paint job does.

    You can get rid of the blotchiness by using #0000 Steele wool and water and lightly rub it down. I did several old 60's vw bugs and it works great.

    That stuff covers like crazy but unfortunately, it leaves a heavy orange peel finish that needs wet sanded and buffed. Used four cans and every nozzle was the same. Releases a lot of paint but hard to avoid orange peel.

    🎨✅I’ve always found to get the best out of spray can paint, always soak you’re spray cans in “warm like” bucket of water for 30 minutes prior to use. That will help get rid of those nasty spots and also bring out the best layering of paint.
    💯🤟🏾

    When using a spray paint can, or even a spray gun on a vehicle or anything for that matter, you never want to stop your paint run on the actual vehicle or item that you’re painting. start your spray run off of the item or vehicle, and finish off of the item or vehicle. this Will give you the cleanest outcome with no blotchiness.
