- it's like my last video but 40 minutes long and slightly funnier.
this description was supposed to be lovely and heartfelt but i am so so tired. everything that could go wrong with this video did go wrong. audio was lost. video was unusable. the first time i uploaded this it didn't process and i had to wait another hour for it to upload. i didn't even know this was gonna be 40 minutes long until uhhhhhh 4 hours ago? either god has cursed me or ensemble stars has truly ruined my life.
i hope my pain was worth it. let me know if you enjoy the longer reactions like this or would like shorter ones. and what else do you wanna see from? maybe some twisted wonderland?? some project sekai?? perhaps i could play some enstars fan games?? maybe you wanna see a specific enstars event or scout story?? maybe some other anime boy stuff?? let me know lol
Im convinced that akira (the lead writer of enstars) is locked up in happy ele’s basement and hasn’t seen the light of day in 7 years
With the way of the writing, you'd have to wonder if that's a good or bad thing at this point 💀

@@Pastasmoker I think that's actually close to what happened, at least at the beginning 😂 There was an interview that when Ensemble Stars was planned, Akira wanted to be the writer even if he knew nothing about idols (he had to research a lot apparently) because he was the writer for Ensemble Girls (a discontinued game that mostly has high school girls instead of mostly idol boys, it's a school that the producer aka Anzu went to! Leo's little sister is also present here). He didn't want to give the Ensemble series away to someone else or something along those lines iirc.

The thing I love/hate the most about Rinne is that he's one big liar. He lies to his fans, he lies to his boss, he lies to his colleagues, he lies to his family, he lies to us readers, he even (mostly) lies to himself. I have trust issue reading his lines, but at the same time it's really fun deciphering what he really means. Can't wait to see how you react to the entirety of chapter 5!

I love akatsuki theyre three old guys, but you also should know that they were the 'executioners blade' during their time at yumenosaki, i.e: they're accustomed and kind of enjoy tension like this. none of them know how to take selfies btw and theyre canonically borderline unmarketable, and they all are intimidating looking so they were an ideal target for being 'cancelled'

I don't play Enstars so I'm very lost help-
Just for a bit of context, Ibara (the guy at 4:04) holds a high position (deputy director) at one of the four idol agencies featured in the game. He's also working as an idol under said agency. He literally just graduated high school. The other characters that show up there (Eichi, Tsukasa, Keito, etc.) either also just graduated high school or are currently high school students that are also working as idols with high positions in their respective agencies. They already went deep into politics and business stuff at such an early age 🤣
I love how everyone downloads this game thinking it'll be a silly goofy lil idol game and expect no real plot then bam! The plot hits them like a train
Then you realise that the !! Era is way less fricked up than the ! Era and you just wonder how it's possible to frick up a singing dancing anime boys game more than it already is
Then you read the ! Era and congratulations! You have gained lifelong trauma :D

Also! For story recommendations, after you finish Chapter 5, if you want to know more about Rinne and Niki’s whole deal, Niki’s event story Hot Limit is basically all backstory with a little bit of scheming, as a treat. It’s one of my favorite Crazy:B stories and I highly recommend!

i was actually gonna read hot limit to celebrate my newfound appreciation for crazy:b (and as like a little break from the emotional turmoil that was chapter 4), but hearing all this stuff about chapter 5 is making me wanna jump right back into the main story bc i enjoy pain and suffering :')

honestly rinne makes a lot of great points through the story and I think people sometimes don't notice it because his "all or nothing" way of approaching them is a bit intense lmao so I'm glad you seem to like him !

Yep, Rinne's way of acting is eventually explained around the end of chapter 5! (spoilers ahead) (edit: it's been released in engstars!)
He said he was genuinely displeased with the system-- even though he worked hard, he fell out from being a successful solo idol because the management supporting him was exposed for corruption and he no longer got any jobs after that. Plus he was left by the "big tide" as idol units quickly became the new norm instead; Rinne as a solo idol apparently got overshadowed by Eden's heavy promotion and success. Old-school idols like him 'died' due to this "big tide". Rinne wanted to change or improve the system even just a little bit by criticizing ES. He planned on 'dying' as an idol when he joined Crazy:B anyway, thus his "all or nothing" way of doing things 🥲

I sat in the toilet for 40 minutes watching this because I cannot bring myself to pause the video but now I am conditioned to giggle uncontrollably whenever I hear the "We are the rule" part in The Genesis, thus missing my notes, but it's fine ✨
Also yes, Rinne is such a loveable asshole genius and thay really starts to become more obvious as you read through the chapters. Chapter 5, though? That was the nail in the coffin. I have now become a RinneP through and through.

As someone who has been into enstars since 2017 and knows the gist of everything in the War era, and has been very much following the story in Music (official and fan translations alike), it is SO funny seeing you react to things. There are so many implications in the main story that you don't know about, but once you learn more you just kind of sit there and rethink things. I hope you're enjoying it so far, because I definitely am :>

Yes! We need more Amagi lore 😭 There were still so many unanswered questions at the end of the main story, like their whole family problem wasn't exactly solved. Hiiro just proposed a solution to Rinne and it isn't really clear if they actually did it. And don't they need to act on it quick because their father is dying or something? 🤔
Edit: I think Hiiro talks about what happened to the family stuff a little bit on Ushimairi Part 2, a gacha scout which should be coming in a few weeks in Engstars.
I dont know if it's just me but when I read the story I was reading it like any normal story (or perhaps all the game's I play have a hellish story) so when I see other people's reactions to enstars stories I realise just how messed up it is. Your video made me laugh quite a bit and I enjoyed it. Sorry if this sounds a bit wrong I don't know how to word it properly.
don't worry you worded it well!! I'm used to dramatic storylines but I didn't expect enstars to be the type of game that has one y'know LOL I mostly just expected it to be cheesy and very generic so this was more than I expected

Just kiddin', I think most event stories are more light heart compare to the main story since they take place after it, so yeah it's more likely to be more fun and chaotic (except for Double Face debut event cuz man the canon shits 💀)

There were also a few more characters that also showed transphobic behavior towards Arashi but apparently all of them have apologized to her, so now they're on good terms. (I've only heard about this from other ppl so pls correct me if I got any info wrong)
