Interesting how XT and ZM pick the most runable and safe pathway, but Seb Chaigneau pick the better camera view angle pathway instead!! magnificent!! .... vivre sebastien chaigneau!
Bravo Monsieur. Et chapeau à Pepino.
The fact that after 111 km these guys were so close to each other really tells you how even they were. What a shame that Zach had to retire, he was looking pretty depleted by the end.
Sweet memories: 1:35 - good to be here in the middle of the night - you have no idea what is down there... 2:13 - my "rocky bed" - I slept like a baby on it :)
I say hats off to the camera men. The entire race is a test of pain management and discomfort. I was there in 2017, some of the athletes I saw didn't look like athletes at all, but they were great at managing pain and discomfort.
this is exactly how it goes - if every runner had a camera and did an edit you would see 1000 little fights like these - no music needed though. what an experience. Get'training and join the run. so much to remember
Let me hear thoughts/suggestions: how long my knee's vacation can be, after 883.5 miles in 18 months (before that, never ran) without serious conditioning loss? My knees are as worn as an old tractor's axles.
The french xavier thevenard is much stronger than zach. Zach had no chance against xavier thevenard. Xavier to win 3 times the UTMB and other races too. Do not underestimate the great athlete that is xavier thevenard.
Americans should understand that Month Blanc is a REAL mountain not some nice hills of California... every year they start at an insane pace that they are not able to keep up and by mile 60-70 they blow up. Same movie, every year, I don't know why is so hard to understand...
They should certainly listen to you Christian because you apparently won Western State 3 times (but it's a very easy race with only gentle hills) and managed to do UTMB easily every week-end. Shame you're not that well-known in the world and nobody cares about what you think.
Xavier had a bit more in the tank than Zach and played's at Zach's game almost knowing that Zach wouldn't last another 60KM at that pace. It's a shame Zach was also affected by PF. Amazing race nonetheless with lots of the lesser known - albeit still amazing - runners making their way into the top 10.
it was better live. Some of us predicted it since the previous life base. Hope miller will learn from his drink mistake + keeping wet uperwear + trying to impress strong champions by rushing after leaving the base.
Zach did some mistakes at and just after leaving life base. Some of watchers pointed it out and the output gave them right. Who know's who would have won, but the fight would have lasted far longer if those mistakes weren't there.
@@AtlantisArch after (réflection) , he tried somethings but he failed . If you don't try you loose too . So.... he did a beautiful race in fact . (Sorry for the mistakes i'am french) 😅
Awesome....but I have to give MAJOR props to the camera person.....great job of videoing the battle...
Very Jamil-like! Who's the cameraman?
it should be named as THEVENARD VS MILLER VS CAMERAMAN
@@TheodoreK2 Sébastien Chaigneau
The cameraman, Sébastien Chaigneau, finished 2nd of the UTMB in 2009, and 3rd in 2011
Sébastien ran 140km as a cameraman. I don't know how many D+ :)
I love watching zach Miller run he gives 110% everytime awesome guy
One of the amazing videos to watch, 100 times more satisfying than watching any action films...These people are real tough guys!
Fuking nuts. They are running a 100 mile race like it's a 10k. Crazy
Love this video . The duel is captured so well by the photographer. Great job!
captured by Seb Chaigneau, retired ultra-trail legend!
Interesting how XT and ZM pick the most runable and safe pathway, but Seb Chaigneau pick the better camera view angle pathway instead!! magnificent!! ....
vivre sebastien chaigneau!
An epic battle. Filming and editing make the battle even more epic, thank you for sharing.

Kudos to Zach and Xavier. Not to forget, amazing camera work by the team.

Very good camera work.
two extraordinary trail runners. It was a pleasure to run in the same race
Best ever trail video...
best trail running action I have ever seen!
I' m kilian's father and I approve this video.

Absolutely great, what an epic battle. Thank you for uploading this.
Wow wow wow... so much respect for these guys. Pushing so hard. Kudos
Fantastico video!!!, gracias
Bravo. Extraordinaire course!
Camera person is best runner of the three
Marc Sébastien Chaigneau, the cameraman, finished 2nd of the UTMB in 2009 and 3rd in 2011. That might be why he was able to keep up!
you havent see anything... check this one: ua-cam.com/video/7DCR03UDggA/v-deo.html MILLER VS. HAWKS
Nice work, xav is a beast!
Great footage! Tq for adding it so quickly.
Merci pour ce partage sportif
Anyone know if they run with music? Or if they are even allowed to in these types of competitions?
Qué emocionante... gran vídeo felicidades al filmmaker!!!
Two Heavyweights. Great video !
Epic - Xavier so very spry, flowing beautifully
Xavier thevenard la manger tout cru.. Il ne lui a laisser aucune chance. Bravo à toi xavier...
what its the name of bag to carry the poles with camelback? and anyone knows its already in the market sale?
Grandiose !
I hope Xavier Thevenard comes back one day
What a pair of champions !!
Great "battle" Xavier won this time Good Job!!! and Congratulations
👍 bellissimo 🏃🌳🌲💚🏃
Zach is absolutely knackered..
Xavier is a machine

Bro get off his dick for Christmas sakes
Name of the song ?
Nice video. I would not have tried to pass at 01:03 though!
Why is this only 3 minutes? Why so much cutting?
What happened to Miller and Walmsley? Looked tough and poised early, had high hopes for Americans at UTMB
Pretty much like every year, they start off way too fast, as if they're aiming for the course record, then fade away around the 100k mark ☺

Le choc des titans...
Épique!
So sad to see a lot of big names out of contention. Was rooting for Walmsley but looks like this is not his year......... again.
kss rider Winning western states would have something to say about this not being his year 🤷♂️
Joe Evans - I meant that this is not his year for winning utmb. Sorry for not being specific. 🤗
Ahahahahahah it will be his year when he'll understand that Mont Blanc is a REAL mountain not the gentle hills of California...
Christian F since when does he train in California lol. He did his UTMB prep near Leadville Co.
kss rider gotcha. I misunderstood 😃👍

Where's Jim Walmsley? Oh.
Exciting!
Wooooooooohhhhhooooooooooooo
Mythique !
makinas
Insane pace😅
Allez Xav !
👍👍👍
brutal
Is THEVENARD's pole holder released by CAMELBAK?
Intense
Go camera person!!
Zach ran his way, which is giving his 110%. Sometimes doesn't work, but when it does is epic. He simply doesn't run for the second place.

Ça descend pas trop, ça va !!!!
Zach Attack!
I love this sport, but this music is overly dramatic... haha. It was even a VERY dramatic race!
Zach will be the first american to win this race.. he's just so tough
I think so !!!!
Two words: Rory Bosio. So frustrating when people discount the women!!
Daniel Burke Good!!! The OP caused me to have some doubts!!
not if he doesn't learn how to slow down....
@Daniel Burke , OP, that Ed guy said the first American, I didn't know only males counted as the first American.
zach shouldn't have tried to go the pace of Xavier - he couldn't
magnifique
In fact, cameraman is the better one!! XD
seb chaigneau former trail champion on fire!!! :)
It must suck to have a person on your tail like that.

The music was kinda annoying; just too much noise
Destroyed by stupid music.
Booooooooring!
What is the song please ?
