AMAZING! I just ran my first mountain race; a 20k in the French Alps... and I wondered often what Kilian would look like on trails. This is a fantastic POV, really instructive, thanks!
James Madelin you’re welcome!! That was always my question too, what it would look and feel like in real life to run behind him and follow him. So I did and brought a camera, to learn from his technique. Glad it’s helpful and instructive to others too.
After getting over my initial surprise to see some human being (sorry guy, you are also a great athlete!) ahead of Killian Jornet, I was mesmerized by the beauty of this; awesome scenery coupled with supreme athletic performance, it's as good as sports film-making gets.
drtimoneill Shelter them too much and it might blow back on your face, assuming you're from the US. Maybe you know better, but they'll be exposed to swearing sooner or later. Just guide them through it to make them know it's distasteful. Same thing for sex when they turn 11/12. Kids can be more mature than you think.
drtimoneill I was just worried a bit since many of you (Ricans) have a tendency to go overboard on these matters. - "There's a nipple in the movie. Can't let you watch it." - "But I'm 17!"
First of all, you're damn fast too, especially on that section where Kilian took a small shortcut and you did the U-bend and you caught up to him, wow. Second of all, how'd you get the camera to stabilize?
thanks! yeah he processes the terrain in front of him so quickly and sees lines others don't see, he's so efficient.. as for the stabilization, i use steadxp for gopro
The FOD Runner not super technical actually, very little parts have loose rocks and gravel. It was mostly a dirt path with some big rocky surfaces. Sure, it's not pavement, but, not by any means it is that technical.
Amazing! Great effort from you aswell. May i ask how you held your camera? By a stick or wrist mount? I guess you didnt move your arm around as you would w/o the camera?
Great footage. Downhills are the most terrifying part of trail running, this is so impressive and under rated as a sport. But I do wonder if the wide lens on the go-pro makes falling over the edge seem more risky than it actually is?
I did not use a gimbal, I used steadxp with a GoPro4 black, just holding the camera in my hand. Steadxp is a little device that records all camera movements, which you then use in post-production to stabilize the footage. Check it out: steadxp.com/
i find it very easy, although it takes a bit of time.. but i prefer steadxp over a gimbal because it is so much smaller. you can just have the gopro in your pocket and spare the weight of a gimbal. hope that helps
I agree. Steadxp is more handy than gimbal. Which battery do you use in Steadxp - Go pro 3 battery? Is Steadxp greedy for a battery? And also, can you charge battery true Steadxp or you need a separate charger for a battery?
francis oon haha thanks! Keep following this space then, I’m going to try and keep posting videos like these over the summer. Hope your running is going well too
Why they (the organisation) is putting FUCKING helikopter in the sky , I was thinking that the value of the trail was: the silence, no pollution and the respect of mother nature ? Am I losing something?
Well done catching back up after he gets away 😀 It's like he just glides down, so smooth it's amazing.
👍🏻
Dude!! Thank you so much for busting your ass to get some epic footage & then sharing!
A masterclass in downhill running! Awesome job filming too!
You ran fast!! Thanks for the video
Wow! amazing filming! Gonna rewatch at 0.25x to catch all those jumps Kilian does!!🎉
Camera man, YOU deserve a medal!😅🏔🏃♂️🏅
Thank you so much for sharing this. Felt like I was there for a moment! Loved it!!!
I had the privilege of watching Killian descend on Mount Marathon in Seward Alaska. Truly an artist as well as a phenomenal athlete.
Amazing footage. I need to do this race now!

Incredibly steady footage. Thanks for the effort and for sharing 🙏🏽
Amazing video! thanks for that mate. Kilian is from another planet!

Javier I. Sampedro it was ! And the weather gods cooperated too. Awesome race to follow and spectate
Greg O'Callaghan totally different from last year. I miss Chamonix, I had a blast when I went in 2016 to run OCC. I want to go back

Gimme a holler if you're ever in the Tignes/ Val d'Isère area, for a beer/ coffee/ trail run/ ski!
Really cool footage !! 🤟🏻

1:06 Shortcut or pathing win?
You damn fast ... Thanks for the video
1:38 Nice job navigating the rocks there!
great footage
good work cameraman!
the GOAT
Great video! Can I ask you what model of glasses you have? Very nice!
Wow! That man moves downhill on that technical terrain like it’s just flat road!!
The FOD Runner not super technical actually, very little parts have loose rocks and gravel. It was mostly a dirt path with some big rocky surfaces. Sure, it's not pavement, but, not by any means it is that technical.
Christos Alexiou I’m sure for killian it’s nice and easy... for me that’s technical 😂
Great footage!
Amazing! Great effort from you aswell. May i ask how you held your camera? By a stick or wrist mount? I guess you didnt move your arm around as you would w/o the camera?
Thanks! I was actually just holding the naked gopro in my hand. No mount or anything. And yeah, trying to not move the hand as much.
@@greg.ocallaghan Wow thank you for a quick answer! Again, impressive! :D
How can you keep up and still film?
nice job staying with him! 💪
very nice footage!
Vaya ritmos...😅🏃🏻♂️Gran Kilian!👑
So fast, so beautiful 😍
Great footage. Downhills are the most terrifying part of trail running, this is so impressive and under rated as a sport. But I do wonder if the wide lens on the go-pro makes falling over the edge seem more risky than it actually is?
Nice vidéo!!! How do you get stabilized image like that while running?
Peyo LC steadxp for GoPro. Just holding the naked GoPro in my hand.
Amazing man!
He’s just floating down the mountain!
Nice video clip man 😀👍
Brulliant - you did well yourself to keep up!
What is approximate min/km in this footage? Amazing
Great work, not easy...
ダンスみたいに綺麗なステップ!ってか、ついていけるのもスゴイ!
Way better than a drone or helicopter camera
This is how live ultramarathon streams should looks like! Amazing bro, just amazing! Btw which camera did you use? Go Pro or..?
thanks!! GoPro Hero4 Black with SteadXP digital stabilizer attached to it
@@greg.ocallaghan Thanks!
Excelente video, me sentía corriendo con él
Muy buen vídeo, sigue asi
I think cameramen is a winner!
so good, ill have to get a steadxp
Wow.... Buena persecución... 🤟
How far into the race was this?
24k in, and after a climb of about 900m. Top of the descent starts at 2200m altitude
Vídeo delícia de assistir.
E o Killian é um "animal" descendo. Parece um felino em busca da presa, da refeição da semana!
L
Kilian hornet el mejor trial elle mondo !!!l
Lilian el mejor del moudo de trial !!!!!!!!
good job
Which gimbal did you use for thit video?

Greg O'Callaghan are you kidding me 😯 i did not know that. Perfect soluction for me 👍 Is hard to do post production?
i find it very easy, although it takes a bit of time.. but i prefer steadxp over a gimbal because it is so much smaller. you can just have the gopro in your pocket and spare the weight of a gimbal. hope that helps

Man that is some fucking amazing footage! Guys are flying down that moutain
this videographer should take parts in this events too
What is he saying please ?
EL camara no baja nada mal !!!
Excellent
Очень красиво! Особенно момент где оператор, не смог так же пробежать и бег по траве
Como logras esa toma tan estable?
Diego Cartaya Espina steadxp
Sounds like you speed up the film, no ?
I think Killian should have the camera on the back of his head
Kilian is very strong going uphill, but going down is really on another planet, almost as fast as a wild animal 😆
you are fast af
nice man,
It's like gliding!
Well the leg seems OK, I guess. 🙄 God, he's amazing.
So fast😱
The guy in front looks back and sees the terminator behind him!!
fuck yeah. You did it well also.
I am more interested in the cameraman who can catch up with kilian while filming, running while carrying all that equipment!!! Wow...
francis oon haha thanks! Keep following this space then, I’m going to try and keep posting videos like these over the summer. Hope your running is going well too
Здесь красиво бро .и травка по другому пахнет .
И холмы белые другие .Это вершина ,бро .
Давай спустимся полетаем .!попарим как птички .

Wow.. and i wonder: who cams the cam? He deserves it too
