Yes. But a question for all the 'ballers out there - isn't it possible to make a great player score 50 - 60 points? That's the only way the Lakers are beating the Nuggets. Make Jokic average 50, shut down his passing lanes and shut down everyone else. But if that's not possible, then yes - nobody in the league can stop Jokic.

This is not about AD. Jokic is a likely top 10 player of all time. He’s gonna dominate, he’s a legend. Jamal Murray averaged 32 PPG in the series last year, then 22 in the finals. Murray v LAL guards will decide the series.

Chamberlain, Russell, Kareem, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Jordan, and Lebron. Jokic would be the ninth to do it. That makes him a top 10 player all time.

The x factor going into the series is the Nuggets’ defense. I don’t think most people realize that the Nuggets had the 8th best defense in the league, which has a good chance of shooting up since the Nuggets are playoff risers. So not only are the Nuggets gonna get theirs, but the Lakers gonna have huge trouble getting theirs if the Nuggets’ defense do become a problem

Jokic is peaking as high as nearly any player we have ever seen and will go down as a top 10 player ever. AD is great, in absolutely no world is he that though. People think AD is a lot better offensively then he actually is in reality. In all the matchups against Denver he'll run into a stretch where he's like 2/7 and becomes inefficient offensively.

It is the same media story as last year, they were bragging about lakers coming back even from 0:2 where denver literally demolished them. It will happen again they have no speed to go past Jokic and we saw that AD can't match up to him. They are going to sweep them like playing Atalanta or Rockets in first round so we can finally focus on some real.... journalism and comments about this playoff. I want to hear about ant-mano and how far the Wolves will howl or how long the Thunder will last.

There is no reason that AD can't. But 1) Jokić can hold his own defensively, and 2) he can do the same thing to AD, and as much as I like AD, Jokić will win that matchup most of the time, which he has.
There is a big reason why he can’t go at him. AD bulked up a bit but isn’t as quick to use speed against Jokic now. He also isn’t strong enough to bully him. Jokic has his number end of story.
no I agree - those games were all close last year. nuggets fans should not be complacent or premature. the lakers are a good team capable of causing trouble. anything can happen in a basketball series. as a nuggets fan, I think we should listen to jokic himself who says, this is a competitive matchup and requires everyone to play their best.

Lakers need to shut down the other guys, let Jokic score 40-50, keep letting him overexert himself one person, he won't be able to keep it up each game, he's still human. Overly focusing on Jokic will just give this monstrous superstar an easier time to elevate and activate his teammates, sharing the overall burden. A shared spread out burden is easier to recover from, than a heavy one on one person over and over again.

The issue is the depth of the nuggets and how well the whole teams plays on defense and offense. If Anthony davis makes 25 shots it’s because the nuggets made him shoot thirty shots and he shot inefficiently. I’ll give the Lakers 1 game maybe two but it’s going to be really hard. Deangelo Russell can’t play in this matchup we know this he gets played off the court so who steps up in his place? Also Jokic and Murray and MPJ can combine for 85-90 points and AG 15-20 I don’t see the Lakers being able to score effectively down stretch

Let's state the obvious. Jokic is just a better player than AD. That's a fact. Jokic can't be stopped by AD one on one. The Lakers will have to devise a scheme to contain Jokic. Maybe you double him at times. Maybe you fake the double. Maybe you play him straight up. Throw him different looks. Jokic is too good to be shown the same look all the time.
