- Bokeh is ZMF's new entry of a closed back dynamic headphone. The approach for the Bokeh is to provide a more accessible headphone, sharing that signature ZMF sound and craftsmanship. This is my first ZMF headphone here in the studio, and we wanted to celebrate with an unboxing and first impressions of what is sure to be a very impressive set of cans! Just got these at canjam NYC, they are like if the Atrium and the Atticus had a baby. I absolutely love them, the only models I liked more were the Atrium open and the Caldera Closed. They are dynamic, punchy and surprisingly resolving for the sound signature. In other words the definition of fun to me. You don't care about clinically breaking down the music with these, you just end up immersed in it. Which is something no other headphone has consistently made me do. These may be my personal endgame as far as headphones go, as far as iems probably the spirit torino twin pulse iems, as the Valkyria was astoundingly good for classical and metal.

Never get tired of a ZMF unboxing experience, get one every time I take them out of the case 😂. Those Bokeh look awesome, might have to get them to compliment my wonderful Aeolus headphones. Looking forward to your review.

Congratulations on your ZMF’s. It’s almost like I’m seeing myself when watching this. I can assure you that your excitement is the same I felt when I received each of my 3 sets of ZMF’s. I have the Atrium Closed in Camphor Burl, the Verite Open in Redwood Burl, and Verite Closed in Ironwood. After seeing this I kinda regret not ordering these on the release date…but I’m saving for some Atrium Opens during the Hot Cup Summer event, or Caldera not 100% sure. Keep up the great content!
I always forget about Hot Cup Summer! Oh man, I better get scavenging and save up. I desperately want a VC or AO stabilized, just haven't seen one drop that really speaks to my soul yet. Caldera at CanJam was glorious too.

Mine #029, they're absolutely sublime with Cayin RU7 and xDuoo XD05 Pro. Gorgeous work of art. 2-3 days of burn in and they're even better!

Oh dang! I've been looking at this. They look amazing with that red finished wood and I definitely want another closed back. Just not sure how they sound. I prefer very warm sound signature, my ears don't handle bright or high treble headphones.
Edit- Why is it that I have to smell wood and leather on headphones as well? LOL!
I have a feeling that these might fit your bill. We'll have to see what we end up with in a few weeks after testing!

@@TheVeganVicar they come stock with the vegan protein leather pads, if that's what you're looking for. They're stupendous.
Just the suede are vegan and an all vegan version is coming soon. Protein leather is made from eggshells, so is vegetarian@@MasterMarslander
When wearing them is possible talk with sombody or is very muffled talking? Have some plastic parts?
Please can you tell me first impression...is fuller denser sound with good bass i search more fun dneser 🍖 sound I hear lean neutral bright sound?
When will they go on sale? How about the soundstage?
They say that they will have another batch released between 8 and 12 weeks after the initial batch ran out, which was back in early Dec. So I'd imagine sometime very soon. I'd probably register for their newsletter so you can get alerts on stock.

First impression the Bokeh are softer on the head in general, but they do weigh about twice as much.

I would like buy in couple of weeks can do some early first impression for bokeh please? I try atticus and i like it but if bokeh is more fun more denser fuller sound i like dense lusher smoother sound and if bokeh have this qualities more than atticus i attempted to buy it...can you give me early impressions with stock protein pads how sound it?

At the moment the Bokeh is out of stock. Zack will be releasing another batch of Bokeh sometime soon. I plan to release the review at that time, so they can be available to purchase.

$1399 is very reasonable for a high quality, handmade headphone not made in Chinese sweatshop.
