NEW VIDEOS ♡ MONDAY ♡ WEDNESDAY
God, I spent so much time and money at Amoeba when I lived in SoCal.
When you pushed the tapes in and moved them around, it was so visually satisfying❤
Girl you are churning out these walkthrough videos! I really love them 😍
This gave me hella nostalgic asmr. I remember the sounds and smells from our local library, and the specific media section with CDs, vhs cassettes, DVDs, vinyl, etc. Plus all the crap we used to have for the car, the DVD player, VCR, or record player.
I'm so glad someone loves The Land Before Time! Still have the VHS and VCR to watch anytime! XD lol
I've never watched it because I saw a clip a few years ago that made me so SAD, so I haven't mustered up the steel to watch the whole film yet 😂
In that case don't watch it unless you're prepared to cry
Yaaay Amoeba! Ever since I first visited my local one and randomly fell in love with 60s Peruvian Cumbia, I always look forward to going again and spending a couple hours spelunking for new stuff. I don't go as much now in the spotify era, but it's still so much fun!
i love amoeba so much ❤️ and i love that you did this.
Amoeba! Such a great store. I usually spend 3 hours there every time I visit. Last time I was there I bought the newest Coathangers vinyl and some random electronic ones, based on their covers, and was pleased to find how good they were.
Your taste in music is excellent. You know Ricky Nelson, by the way: Travelin' Man, Poor Little Fool. He was basically the first studio-manufactured heart throb. They even called him "the original teen idol." Has a smooth, haunting voice, that invokes that sort of sorrowful nostalgia.
You're right! I do know him. Super interesting what you say about his image
The "What's in my bag" videos on the Amoeba channel are a must if you are always looking for new music to listen to. Amazing video, Mauve
Oh cool, I'll check it out! Had no idea they had a channel even
@@MauveASMR They have a channel, and that section of the is basically watching your favourite bands talking about their favourite bands. Get pen and paper because you are going to find lots of very interesting music
james + the giant peach scared me too when i was a kid! i didn’t know anyone else felt that way about it! i grew up watching fantasia as well, and now i still put them on sometimes while i’m working at home. a lovely video, & it was cool to reminisce about childhood times. thanks a lot xx
Dillinger Escape Plan! I would've grabbed all their CDs if I were you
Yooooo, that place looks amazing! I’m jealous
This is mesmerizing. So good. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
10:36 omg cpm 22 is a great brazilian rock band. i love them!
I miss the old Amoeba building.
Atlas Sound is the solo project of Bradford Cox from Deerhunter.
Teen Age Riot Logos is such a good album.
Was in shock when I heard they had Dillinger escape plan!
Girl your taste in music is 👌🏽
Love your whispers, I think the 10 things I hate about you is a TV show based on the film...
You're awesome, love from Scotland
Thank you! And yes, I think you're right -- I'd never heard of it before!
13:27 - That's not a gumball machine (or not just ANY gumball machine), that's Tom Servo from Mystery Science Theater 3000. If you don't know the show, do yourself a favor and check them out! They are hilarious and they've been around for over 30 years.
omg thank you SO MUCH for this video!! at 18:04 I noticed this picture with the name of the TV show.... and i had a flashback!! 5 years ago i heard a song, picture of the album was just like this!! And I was searching for this song for almost 5 years by now..........wow
Wow, you know death grips? Or did you just read it coz it was there
There was one just like this on Times Square in NYC years ago and it's long gone now. It was the only place I would go to once I discovered it. I LOVE these places that have timeless music. Its music to my ears. Lol Get it?! DeRp! Lol Thanks for the video. It was super awesome!❤
The gumboil machine is the character Tom Servo from the Mystery Science Theater 3000 series. You should check it out if you don't know it.
Thanks for this!
I had deja vu while watching this.
Always wanted to check out amoeba. I love easy street in Seattle
I love dinosaur jr tooo!!!
Awe so lovely! Thankyou ❤️
The only time I’ve been to Amoeba was in 2017 I think and my friends me and two guys went from austin to SF and when we finally got to SF we immediately took edibles and went to golden gate park which is near Amoeba about a few streets before or after and we had an amazing time getting music and then walking into the park at twilight.. it was so much fun. I miss those guys a lot.
What a beautiful day!! Sounds like a nice memory
Love Amoeba, love this video more
Glad to hear it!
You can see her entire face from the reflection of a CD 😍. She has big eyes and eyebrows. I like her and I hope she shows her face.
So fun!
10:16 As a Brazilian Portuguese speaker I can say thank you a lot!
I'll definitely check her out!
Sick, Mauve!! I live 30 min from the Hollywood Amoeba and its my favorite f%#ing store of all time. Love that back corner where you started, that’s where the tapes and extreme metal cds are 😄🤘
It's absolutely amazing! Very cool that you live close enough to go when you want!
Great video as always! So much effort for a unique idea. Also when you were looking at Deerhunter and stopped on the label saying "looking for Dear Hunter?" I laughed a bit because I love that band 😁
Haha sorry! I'll have to check them out then!
@@MauveASMR Most of their albums tell some long ass story about a guy and his tragic life in the early 1900s, but that means there's loads of old timey vibes and stuff but it's also rock? Worth a listen!
HOLY CRAP! 😄 Look at ALL the LOVELY CDs! 😆👍 Where is this place and do they have one somewhere in Ottawa? Looks like CD heaven to Me. Bet they have LOTS of black metal. 😎🤘
i immediately recognized this as amoeba but i've never actually been to this one! ugh i've spent waaay too much money in their stores lol
Do you have any slayer?
WHAT, CÉU!? OOOOH I'M BRAZILIAN AND GOING CRAZYYYY
Omg what the name of this amazing shop ? And where is it ?
Amoeba in LA!
Oh my...if you would like to hear two killer albums on very different points of the spectrum, check out Ani Difranco’s first album (I love her, especially up through Upx6) and Dillinger Escape Plan’s Calculating Infinity. Love your whisper voice and your love of music. Thank you for the great videos.
I'll check these out! Thanks!
Mauve ASMR One more song I’d be curious to hear what think of. It’s magical. One of my favorite bands, Braids, that incorporates art/progressive rock, dream pop, shoegaze, fusion. Cheers! ua-cam.com/video/_Xk-s4fCCwc/v-deo.html
@@4phunk161 I LOVE BRAIDS BRAIDS IS MY JAM, ALL OF NATIVE SPEAKER IS MY JAM. Haven't listened to Shadow Offering yet though!
Mauve ASMR Yes! Not surprised you’re hip to them. Deep In the Iris was my intro to them and I went backward and love it all. Shadow Offering hasn’t completely grabbed me yet like the others, but there’s great stuff there. Has your record collection grown? Hint hint...not-so-subtle video request :) I just acquired a collection of about 150 70s dub reggae records from Kingston, Jamaica from a storage unit and the sounds are to the ceiling. They are incredible. Have a great night.
Do you know where this store is ??
Amoeba Music although they switched locations
@@MauveASMRthanks!
turns out i live across the country though 😅
I miss these places so much! They're quickly disappearing~
You and I have incredibly similar tastes in music... Mac DeMarco, Deerhunter, etc
Wish I had more friends with my tastes!
I love Delerium. It should not be shelved under "rock," though. It's electronica. ;)
Is this amoeba records?
Yeah! Before they moved
Damn is that Amoeba? They’ve got a really cool UA-cam channel
Amoeba is classic. 👍🏽
i miss going to amoeba!
lol 6 people must really like jazz
I heard rumors Amoeba is going to get torn down 🙁 I hope it’s not true
Always good to hear a great artist like Destroyer getting a shout out. Kaput is one of my favourite records. The "D" section is very strong with Deerhunter as well. Atlas Sound is the name of the solo work of the lead singer of Deerhunter, Bradford Cox. Well worth checking out as well. Has some definite Animal Collective vibes to it. In fact he even collabed with Panda bear on the song Walkabout.

That record store is amazing! A shrine to great music. I found this video quite poignant as I was in my favourite local record store (rather diminutive by comparison) just yesterday looking for some vinyl and made several great finds. Thanks for sharing your adventure. I personally hope spaces like these are with us for many years to come.
Im less of a mellow yellow fellow and more of a hurdy gurdy man fan, myself.
It’s a crime her name wasn’t Edith pedif
Portuguese is far from a beautiful language in my opinion
