Rumours is an amazing album and what makes it even more amazing is what the band was going through at the time. Multiple relationships within the band were ending and alot of the songs were written about each other. Also lots of substance abuse. Was a perfect storm.
I can't believe you have been making videos for 2 years and I only just recently found you. Better late than never. I'm enjoying going thru your older videos. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Jason! Yes, Sigur Ros, that one probably gets the most playing time because I can't understand the lyrics when I work -- and besides that it's divinely beautiful
You have a small but very mighty collection, and incredibly great taste in music. I love the combined sounds of your voice with the incidental and intentional tapping...so good. I would have to recommend Godspeed You! Black Emperor - "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven" to you. If you're not familiar with them, this album is astounding and a great introduction to their music. Thank you for the great video...I'll check out more!
Thanks! Sounds like we have similar taste. I listened to that album when I was much younger and liked it but didn't love it, probably because of my age tbh. Going to put it back into rotation!
A lot of great records you have there. I will always love Fleetwood Mac. I absolutely love Talking Heads as well and find them to be very underrated by a lot of people. Thanks always for the great video!!
@@MauveASMR Thank you! I love Fleet Foxes as well I just am not as well versed in their discography of music as I am with Fleetwood Mac or Talking Heads. Sigur Ros is also a really cool band that I had only just discovered recently. You have very good taste in music!
Gotta love Fleetwood Mac! Haven't listened to Fleet Foxes in ages! Need to go listen to them again I think. Also, Maggot Brain is too good. Remember the first time I heard it. Blew my mind.
Me: "Can Mauve have amazing taste in music too?" Comes out of the gate with Fleetwood Mac, Fleet Foxes and Talking Heads... Your taste in all things seems remarkably impeccable. :P I don't collect vinyl but I've thought about it. The sheer number of records I'd want to own is somewhat daunting. I'm putting a new sound system together though so maybe I'll go for it! Going to listen to Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros to get me pumped haha.
Daunting indeed! I try not to think about it and build it slowly but I still have a few records I like but would gladly replace with something I'm more attached to
Fleet Foxes’ vocal layering is insane on every song. I only found out the other day that Father John Misty used to be their drummer, crazy! Remain in light is also the funkiest piece of music a white person has ever made
All of these albums are great, I would definitely own most of them if I had the space. One album that is on my must have list is Face Value or maybe even No Jacket Required by Phil Collins. Talking Heads is arguably my favorite band, and Stop Making Sense is my favorite album, to listen through from beginning to end. The movie is also very enjoyable. Great video
If you like Talking Heads, check out out Ought (More Than Any Other Day) -- not quite the same but I like them in the same way. I mean, Talking Heads is untouchable, they're too good
Very cool vinyl, are you like using the 80s Japanese Fully Automated turntables too? It is very cool machine, I still finding a good record player that are cheap but Made in Japan.
My first records and only records I currently got are , Led Zeppelin 1 , The Doors , Fleetwood Mac Rumors . I want to expand my vinyl collection . I might give that funkadelic album a listen :)
If you like Fleetwood Mac and Fleet Foxes, I’d recommend checking out an artist called Tiny Ruins! She’s a really talented songwriter from New Zealand, she just put out her fourth record like a week ago and it’s wonderful! Also, great video - fell asleep to it last night and returned tonight to finish it off :)
Fleet Foxes, Washed Out, Alt j, AND Sigur Rós? Your music taste is so similar to mine, loved the video! (Side note, what did you think of the album Crack Up by Fleet Foxes? I thought it was fantastic)
@@MauveASMR That's awesome that you like it, everything they do is unbelievably good! Btw, ever listen to the album Strange Trails by Lord Huron? It's a fantastic one that you might enjoy 😄
Great eclectic taste! Have you heard: Nick Drake, Wintergatan, Elliot Smith, Chad VanGaalen, Warpaint, When Saints Go Machine, Ray LeMontagne? Can't go wrong with any of those artists. Also there is a new singer/songwriter named Fergus who has the most beautiful voice... ua-cam.com/video/fE5FMyqDo9M/v-deo.html
I had a feeling you had good taste in music!!!! Fleetwood Mac!!!!!! Lindsey buckingham is such an amazing guitar player. Have you ever heard the album buckingham nicks? It was before Fleetwood Mac before anyone knew Stevie nicks or Lindsey b! Check it out!
Hey, thanks for you content. I love your videos and interests, they're always unique and right up my alley. Nice collection by the way, you have good taste 😉. I've been obsessed with Beach House, Björk, and Radiohead lately. Check out their newest albums if you haven't already.
Oh of course!! I love Beach House and Radiohead; I'll look into vinyl of those when I'm ready to buy. I like individual songs by Bjork but have yet to fall in love with a whole album of hers -- any suggestions on where to start?
@@MauveASMR Cool, I started with Homogenic, that one's great. Vespertine is beautiful too though. I'd say those 2 are her most consistent sounds. Vulnicura is amazing too if you want something more recent.
@@MauveASMR You got your revenge! Prepare for boring story... Your record collection reminded me of my own (I don't have lots, I was without a turntable for years & got rid of a bunch). I got thinking about some the silliest records I bought - one of them was a cover of Rod Stewart's Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? by the Revolting Cocks. It was on clear 12" vinyl in a clear plastic sleeve filled with KY jelly. I forgot about it, and after years unattended it was not pretty... it hadn't leaked but went super gross and clammy, and destroyed the album sleeve next to it. Terrible collector's item 👎 Anyway, I always hated that song, and thanks to this reminder I've had it stuck in my head for two days 😂
What a strange idea! That is definitely the silliest record I've heard of and I can only imagine how cloudy and viscous it got -- gross. Most importantly, glad you're suffering along with me
@@MauveASMR Thank you for the welcome I have a question can you do an alphabetical order video asmr A-Z I have always wanted to know about things in the alphabet putting things in order was not my strong suit in high school
It's the vinyl countdown!

What a video! These records are amazing!
that maggot brain was a big surprise. what a beautiful record
Mauve you’re exponentially cooler than I already knew you were. And then she reveals Sigur Rós 😍😍😍🙌
Thanks Jason! Yes, Sigur Ros, that one probably gets the most playing time because I can't understand the lyrics when I work -- and besides that it's divinely beautiful
I’d recommend Lianne La Havas’ new album if you haven’t heard it, she was featured on warm foothills by Alt-J

I absolutely love Washed Out, I recommend Feel It All Around, Amor Fati and Eyes Be Closed by them 💖
I think you’d LOVE here come the mummies.

They’re wonderfull
