    All of these "you left this and you left that, what were you thinking?!" comments are really disappointing. What exactly is the point to them? Mike either did not see it, or he made a choice to leave it. I love watching Mike hunt for things and he's taking us along with him, stop being such a backseat driver.

    Need to think outside the scrap envelope. You missed some valuable stuff. A few hours spent selling on eBay could have netted thousands there. The cases alone would probably go a minimum of $50 each.
    Kept the banding tools but not the band? The kit would have sold for at least a couple of hundred bucks.

  • @davidbean5807
    @davidbean5807 3 роки тому +1

    Dude you're killing me. I used to dumpster dive but am now disabled with diabetes and heart disease. Can no longer do anything hardly. You tend to get so excited over scrap wire and metal ,but leave so much behind that you could really profit on. Each of those cases empty you could have sold on eBay or Amazon for $30.00 to $50.00 bucks but you passed. I saw that and heard you and I just felt sick. If that had been me in there I wouldn't have left a single case. As a matter a fact that truck would be pulling a trailer and all those pallets you left would have been on it. You can sale them back to pallet manufacturers or make lots of things to sell with them, or sell them to others who use them for projects. God I hate not being physically able to get out there and dive anymore. Funny thing is when I was able I never made any money off of items. I usually found someone in need and gave away what I collected. I wasn't in it for the money. More or less enjoyed the rush, and knew I was keeping stuff out of the landfill . And so much seemed like a waste that I knew someone else might have a need for. I use to find a lot of strollers and Child car seats, I never had any trouble finding people who wanted them. And most were in almost perfect condition. Wish I could still be out there ,but can barely walk now and zero energy. Pumpers about ready to seize up. Already had one heart attack, and told only have a third of my heart functional. With very poor circulation in it. Low chances of survival of a quadruple bypass due to other health issues. And less than a six year survival rate without it. I guess what I am saying is enjoy it while you are able and don't pass on anything that has some value. Wether it is a value to you or possibly someone out there in need. Trust me it truly is does your heart good knowing you passed on a couple of dollars and made someone else's life a little better.

    My Uncle who owned his own Electrical Company and an Outdoor Billboard company, who was also my boss a couple of times through the years, would have blown his top to see anyone of his guys throw away anything that could have been used at some point. Those EMT pipes and the ridged pipe could be used somewhere. And someone will have to buy some pipe to replace those for the next job. Crazy what gets thrown away.

    LOL I'm just sitting here thinking that we have all came here to watch a guy pull shit out the trash. Nothing against you Mike the Scavenger. I'm a scrapper scavenger to but damn now we are watching it on youtube. I reckon it's the thrill of the hunt. I was looking at one of your older videos and seen where it said you got busted. Now I haven't watched it yet but I thought once it was thrown in the trash, it's fair game. Why should it matter anyway. We've got a county dump where we have to carry all of our large items to throw it away and man if they would just give me one hour in that dump with an 18 wheeler, there's no telling how much I could get outta there. They have the refrigerators', freezers, washers, dryers and on and on. The old guy that works there is a trip. He gets his pick of the stuff you are throwing away. People throw away these washing machines and these refrigerators not knowing the things you can make just from the electric motors that are in them.

      Those actually were not scaffolding legs or horizontals. I am NCCER+ certified in the scaffold craft and all scaffolding material is modular, and would have some type of connectors that would hold them together and would be noticable on each piece, even if you don't recognize what you are looking at.
