In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Be sure to stay subscribed to stay up to date with my latest expeditions, y'all! - Розваги
I'm an 80 yo woman who just discovered your channel today. Watching in amazement at the waste this country does not redirect so as to not trash the environment. You are in a business that is good for the environment. Even the cardboard boxes should be redirected. I hope you make a decent living.
God bless u 80 more
I completely agree. Very good insight.
I am 68 and have the same observation
The reality is businesses do not recycle much at all. It should be illegal to just toss it all in the garbage for landfill.
Thank you so much for taking items out of the trash that can be recycled and kept out of the landfills! Awesome dude!
💨💩
You're so enthusiastic Mike, that's why I come back. Scrap strong Mike The Scavenger.
He was in rare form tonight! lol
Thanks for rescuing the hankies with the tag sale tags; crafters will make use of them. Did anyone else bust into "I Am Iron-Man" (Ozzie rules!) about 10 minutes in? 33:58 Hit it with a torch? I've seen it work, but this one's probably a goner.
Would like to see a video when you go to the recycle center.
Check his channel, there are some
There is a good one with steel wire. Says something about biggest pay out yet
Then you would see how much bread he make.
I second that
I find so much scrap when I'm dumpster diving I'm like man I need to call Mike. 😂
Take the glass plate from the microwave. It's sells
What a shame that someone took the copper off the transformer. Hi Mike good to see your scrapping adventures here in the afternoon in England!!
They are keeping the copper out of landfills. Hmmmm, I wonder why they would take all that copper?
Aqui no Brasil o kilo de cobre está sendo vendido por 40 reais o kilo....se for limpo....queimado está pela metade....🤑
3:17 I didn't know they sold Lucozade in the US. Best thing to drink when you're feeling under the weather.
Shoutout to Mike! Sending some love from the Philippine Islands!! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 Aaaaaaaaaawwwwww!!!!
14:54 pipe union. The big but in the middle comes loose to separate the fittings on either side of it. It's like a quick disconnect for pipes and water heaters and other appliances etc.
You might be surprised how easy it is to unthread old steel fittings from brass valves. Different types of metals do not corrode too tightly together. Just bang on the end with a heavy hammer a few times and most times you can use a big wrench or something and turn it right off. You get more for brass when it doesn't have pieces of galvanized fitting in it! A tip fr om a fellow scrapper.
I’m always happy for you when you get a truckload of scrap. That stuff is so bad for our landfills, and you are Far from having dimensia lol lol lol 😊🌈🇨🇦
Heroes having a party, getting legless in the dumpster
It's amazing how many people called Michael Wave are living in dumpsters, it's so good of you to find them a new home.
Old sinks make great outdoor cleaning stations for fishermen. Great for gardeners too. Making a soil and potting stations. Three sinks; open drains for soil, gravel and plumped for water
man I miss dumpster diving its like a treasure hunt you never know
Wow, people like You are an true ecologists. I like that a lot.
Lol when he was like whoa baby lol
Nice big transformer very nice find
Set an electric release for a door cost about $100 usually they get jammed up with dirt and take it apart clean the dirt out and it works fine
Cool, cool whip, cool bins, cool fm, cool runnings,
My water angle says cool ADE
Back in the 90's, copper was pay around 5$ a pound for clean #1. I was making bank, every Saturday. I was an electrical Foreman on large jobs
03:43 YES!!! Recyclable cardboard!!!♻️💲♻️💰♻️💲♻️
Is it just me or is anyone else sitting here like dude be still, go back! I saw something you missed!😂
That’s ASBESTOS wrap on that scrap piping and valve!!
Mike you are definitely a superhero star of scrap GOD BLESS you my man keep up the good work
Thank u saving the land fill every little bit counts u are hard working be safe take care that back buddy🇨🇦❤️🙏
i think those wires are tinned copper its super flexible. it looks like the kind thats basically copper hairs that get everywhere when you strip it.
...and the ever present whataburger bag. Love it!
What luck for you Mike that they had cut off the copper wire otherwise you would not have been able to lift the transformer. 💪
Thank you for you great videos.
Love them. Please never stop.
Evelyn from Texas.
They ought to know they can’t hide that scrap from Mike the scavenger. All that cat wire in the bottom of the dumpster.
Stay safe and God Bless
You could use a furniture mover blanket! It would help keep the bed of your truck a bit!
Mike that big value was old enough to have asbestos wrap on it. Its usually on the elbow sections and is high concentration of asbestos. I noticed you tore some wrap off before you put it in the truck. Just a heads up.
That wrap was asbestos . It should not have been in that dumpster . An abatement contractor should have removed it . I worked demolition for 2 yrs in schools and other buildings . If we spotted asbestos opening up a wall , we were sposed to let the boss or main contractor know . Until one day he told us if we found it , carefully remove it , triple bag it and hide it in the dumpster . I don't work for him anymore . He lived a like a mile away from the Manhattan project dump and got cancer in his ballsack - turned into a douche
Quite the workout!
Like your style. Best thing I’ve seen so far was the Whataburger bag. Damn I miss that food
Tin coated copper, that's the silver. I melt it down and it all skims right off and leaves a pure copper ingot.
That " Return to vendor" or RTV tag is from home depot it's after something is returned and you don't want to put it back on the shelf you return it to vendor for a credit usually it means it's broken but definitely not all the time
That microwave plate you threw back has some sale value.
love it
Mike we are addicted to you...want a shirt and a ball cap. Need one that [ what that is ] now I say that all the time. Will watch for them. Thank you for all you keep out of the landfill... this is meanjean
Oh man Mike heavy metal my friend... Be careful out there. Peace and love to you and the wife.
32:00 - What you have there is an electronic door strike.. It's used a lot in security, with Prox Cards... Basically, you send an electrical pulse to the door strike and it releases a latching solenoid, which allows the door to open. If no electricity is provided, the door stays secure.
usually any coated copper wire is treated as #2- they reserve bare bright and #1 for clean copper
I cant believe you threw away the glass turn plate from the microwave. You could sell that. People break those, and, people use them as serving trays, & hot pads/trivets too. Those spools too. Yard sale $'s. People loooove spools.
I lived in Alabama, so I know the humidity, bugs, etc. give me Oregon any day. You should visit summer is hot, no humidity, you would love it and your wife would love how many things grow here. Dixie
You Rock. Save the World
The people who took the copper were smart people! They know the good stuff!
Note that the
We got some ALLOMINUM right there!! Gets me every time!
Love the sound effects!
Hell yeah will the karate chops. Peace and love from the UK 🇬🇧
Sending love from Australia.
Can you show your magnet on the back of your truck more? It looks ace
This is so funny as I've been pulling those transformers out of power conditioners. The ones I've been pulling are between 60 and 500 lbs. They say that you can beat them with a large hammer once you unbolt the angle iron and the iron core will break apart. Iron core=laminated sheet metal.
Hi Mike, is there any name or a code on the outer cover of the blue cable? If so can you let me know as my daughter works for a cable manufacturer and I'll pass the details on to her for you, for future reference.
Keep up the good work and it great that you're helping to save the planet by recycling
'KEEP ON SCAVENGING'
Keep It up,we from Brasil,we watch your work, your Joy os contagious
I'm happy to see dumpster diving it's so many blessings, I like it, ur new frnd done me here watching from iligan city Philippines
That's tined copper, that usually is better striped, it goes as tined or #2 copper
Hard working man. Love it. Be safe.
them glass plates you throw out sell real good at yard sales
Flexible metallic conduit comes in rolls. We cut it to length and then fish wires through it. Judging by some of the short lengths, you are probably just finding the excess leftover pieces of flex. Sometimes light fixtures have pre made pre wired flex tails.
I think your good ol truck needs a vacation!!
A hand crank winch arm for your truck bed stake holes would really help. Maybe a good steal rake or poker stick also. Brave dude jumping in in shorts. You'll be angry if you catch a cut or a needle to the legs.
Surprised you didn't grab that frame in the Iron Man bin, being extruded aluminium. Easy to clean. Scrapped lots of them over the years.
Happy early Valentine's day Mike and God Bless you
Cast stone sink: "Love me Michael"
Michael: "You're dead to me"
I'm surprised you didn't take the drinks
Do u ever take a rest Mike! U only have one speed ! Full ahead !! 😮😂👍👍🤘🤘
Good thing you are your wheaties this morning!
Enjoy your attitude and how much you like what u do
Ummm How about the green and white box with a pretty good amount of wire in it? I kept watching it get tossed around when looking for the bottom... The blue, red and black wire looks like it is either tinned to resist corrosion, or maybe silver plated for best conductivity. Very likely tinned.
"this dumpster hurts my nuggets" hahahahah
Good score on that brass!
I picked up one of those trollie things the other day. They are used by Railroad personnel to turn their pickup trucks into railriders.
A pretty good sized gate valve full of brass!
6:30 - That is called Tin Coat Wire. It is a cheaper wire with less copper content.
Those Liebert Veritas boxes served you well in another video. You should totally find.out where they're coming from. I work in IT and if a scrapman came around and asked me to set aside the scrap I'd be glad to.
Enjoy your video's, I'm new to your channel and kind of amazed at how you can jump in and out of dumsters lol. Scrappity scrap buddy
With all you do, you make me tired! Keep up the great work! Love your voice by the way!
How many times a week do you go working the dumpsters? Hope you know that’s awful hard work! Take care anyway. Louise Tridle
“It’s the flash.” 😭😭
The Lucozade does not need refrigerating. I would have loved to have some of that it's my favourite drink
The figures got legless Mike!! I’ll get my coat........
Loved your video 😅. You really work hard from your money 😅. Be safe and God bless
Thats what is left of a transfomer. You got the core plates
Good effort buddy I like your spirit 👍💪
Yea I've been watching his videos also. I really enjoy watching these videos. So much stuff that is beening thrown and has value to it
That little whia tool is about $30! Nice finds. I’m doing some research where I live to make sure it’s legal and such before I do this. Seems a whole lot of people around here throw stuff away like that. I just subbed to you as well. Keep up the good work recycling and saving.
😍😍😍😍
When you salvage and you feed people that inspiring
天都快黑了还想着工作!真的非常尊敬你! love!👍👍👍👍👍
Hey Mike that sink if it's not plastic its Scrap and you missed the security sign
go Mike!!!
Heeeeey!!! The clip of you digging in a dumpster that you use for your outro is in this video!!! 😃👍🏻👍🏻💙💙💙
Yo dude I love watching your show. You know your shit and what you want.
Microwave oven and your MTV 😂🤣
You should buy a Geiger counter and scan the dumpsters first just in case some oil field equipment gets dumped in there.
Good stuff!!! Until next time. B SAFE!!!!👍👍👍✌😜❤
Hey Mike, I love your channel, I’m a hunter to in the UK, I love to find ant roadside treasures but unfortunately here in the UK we are not allowed to skip dive, it’s not allowed unless you ask the permission of the skip/bin owner! One question I would love to have an answer for is what to you do with computer stuff, mice, keyboards etc, do you cash that in as scrap??? Keep up all the great work bud. Much love from across the pond. BSafe.
He knows a man he gives all computer stuff too
@@bethdavis1812 oh, ok thats cool, thank you Beth.
Howdy from Texas. I havent gone through the process but if you have the means to melt it down, you can reclaim alot of gold from old electronics. There's a ton of videos on youtube on how to do it.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your replys
Have you ever thought about making a mini foundry to melt down some of the aluminum and copper you find?
If he’s Iron Man doesn’t he have scrap value😝
Iron Man is "Plastic Fantastic" !!!!
excellent haul tonight Mike, hope it brings you some good money.
