Oh my goodness!!!!!!! You are so easy to follow!!!!!! I am trying to teach myself to crochet. I found some pretty hand made Christmas ornaments and some crocheted ones too. So I want to crochet some of my decorations, all of them really. My decorations are 20 years old and they were 2nd hand. Today they are falling apart. I want to replace them all with soft crochet ones.
I love these trees and your tutorial was so easy to follow that I had completed each row and had to wait for you to catch up that is how good you were I give you 10/10, thank you for the tutorial and now I'm going to see what else you have for me to work on, take care and stay well.
I love this tree. I have made over 30 already just to hand out to friends through the Christmas season. I can't wait to check out your other videos. Yes I am a new subscriber your channel. ❤
Hi, my husband and I drive an 18 wheeler and can't have a xmas tree. I started crocheting and saw your ornament. Loved it and decided to make it bigger. Wanted to send a finished pic, but can't. I put lights and ornaments on it. Came out really cute.
Thank you so much for taking your time to make this detailed and fun video. I'd never made a puff stitch before and my tree turned out just fine, because of your clear instructions. Now subscribed.
Thank you so much for this cute little tree pattern. I found it to be super quick, easy, and fast! I so enjoyed making it. Great tutorial. Thank you so much again.😍😍😍
Just found this video a few hours ago and I’ve already made 6 of these! They’re so beautiful yet so simple and quick to whip up. Thank you so much!! I now finally have Xmas decorations to hang up around my bedroom 😄
Fantastic, I crocheted along with you and it came out so nice! I used a white yarn that has some sparkly silver thread through it, it's really pretty! Thank you!
Thanks so much for the tutorial! They are very fast to make and are a lovely project for yarn scraps. I’ll be making these to give out to my work friends.
Thank you so much! Your verbal instructions along with your work made this really easy and pleasant. I watched 100s of these videos-rarely do I turn up volume, it can be confusing. You have an gift for teaching. Thank you again. 😊
I loved how well you explained and produced the video. Excellent light and angles to show clearly everything for a beginner like me. Can't believe I made a tree, using a new stich, and it came out great thanks to you. Of course, subscribed and shared in pinterest :) Thank you so much for the effort in creating this and sharing!!
Why is this under easy?😭 I've been sitting here for 15 minutes at the 3 minute mark trying to figure out how to START a puff stitch....I am actually crying
Thank you for this video, cute little tree. I will make several for stocking stuffers and ornaments. New subscriber, you are one of the very best crochet instructors out there!
Hi Rachel, thank you so much for this great puff stitch Christmas tree 🎄 tutorial. Your instructions were excellent, so clear and easy. Now I’m subscribed to your channel, I’m finding the other CAL ornaments and love them all. Once again, thank you for sharing. Stay safe and I look forward to seeing lots more from you. With love from Barb in Australia 💜 🧶 🇦🇺
Yes, for all of the rows except for row 2 that is correct! At the end of row 2 you’ll hdc into the last hdc. But rows 3 and onward you’ll hdc into the puff stitch.😊
I have been crocheting since I was 7yrs.old can you make this into a pin to wear on your coat. What size hook and yarns do you use. You said 4mm hook is that a g hook or a e hook.
I had a 4.5 mm hook and it had too big of spaces between the puffs. So I tried the next smallest I had, which was a 3.5 mm, and it also had large spaces between puffs.
I liked this pattern so much, so I tried it again with a 4mm I found in my bag of hooks and I am very happy with the result! Thanks so much, and I am also looking forward to your other Christmas patterns!
Oh that is an interesting idea! The puff stitches do have spaces between them (it’s not an entirely closed surface) so I’m not sure stuffing would be the best idea. However, I’m thinking maybe a layer of felt or batting might work to give it more depth without falling out…just a thought. Hope you enjoy the pattern!
After the last single crochet stitch did you make a slip knot before you cut your yarn? Love this pattern. Planning to use it in so many Christmas gift ideas. Keep up the great work.
As of now the PDF is only available in the Christmas Ornament Ebook (linked in the description!) However, I will let you know if I decide to publish the tree itself separately.
Do you mean to make the tree larger? Im not sure off the top of my head but you basically just want to add more puff stitches at the beginning. If you experiment with the chains at the beginning you should be able to figure it out.
@@DesertBlossomCrafts Correct. I would like to make a bigger tree. So the original pattern calls for 16 chains. I wasn't sure if the Chaim count was multiple of 5 plus one or multiples of 4, etc. But your explanation here helps. I will experiment. Thank you for your response.
Hi Maria, unfortunately the yarn was given to me without a label so I’m not 100% sure. However, I can tell it is Caron Simply Soft so if you look at the color selection of that yarn, you should be able to find something similar (unless they discontinued it)
So long as you’re using acrylic yarn, you’ll want to steam block them. Here’s an article on how to do that: desertblossomcrafts.com/how-to-block-acrylic/
Sometimes that happens due to yarn or tension - the good news is it is easily fixed! You can steam block it so it lays flat. Here’s an article on how to do that if you’re not familiar: desertblossomcrafts.com/how-to-block-acrylic/
The puff stitch was explained and demonstrated very well. Made it really easy to follow along.
The puff stitches make it so unique!
I just made this pattern for my grandparent's Christmas present this year! thank you!
These work super great for micro!!! Making holiday earrings for a friend ❤
Oh I love that idea!
Thank you turned out great very simple to follow
How did you block these Christ as trees? I am new to crocheting and live your video. Would you do the glue and water to make them stiff? Thank you
thank you! the second first row got me confused when you said chain one but I watchd the video and you omitted it. Thank y!
Love it. Thx❤

What a great pattern! I just made three of them! I'm going to sew some crystals on them and gift them as Christmas gifts. Thank you!
Ooh, I love the Crystal idea!
May I asked how and what you sewed them on with?
Fantastic, I crocheted along with you and it came out so nice! I used a white yarn that has some sparkly silver thread through it, it's really pretty! Thank you!

Why is this under easy?😭 I've been sitting here for 15 minutes at the 3 minute mark trying to figure out how to START a puff stitch....I am actually crying
Sorry you’re having trouble! I do have a slower tutorial of the puff stitch here: ua-cam.com/video/1k-322smzNY/v-deo.html
It’s definitely not easy 😢
It starts out with a double crochet stitch h, and just keep going just don't finish it till the third time you do it.
So cute I saw these on Facebook am so glad I found you on UA-cam am going to try to make these Christmas tree 🎄.
Thanks! Let me know how it goes!
It's a little hard to make
When I do the LAST puff stitch in EACH row, do I chain 1 before the hdc, or do I just do the hdc / no ch 1?
no ch 1 before the the hdc
I love this pattern so much! The video is well explained and I love my result so much ❤️🎄
Thank you! I’m glad you like it!
Thank you so much, its awesome 😊
Super cute Thank you Minor adjustments this could be a bell 🛎
You’re welcome! Oh, that would be an interesting thing to try!!
BEAUTIFUL
This christmastree is so nice! xx
Thank you!
Great video, thank you! I'm getting a head start on Christmas this year! This looks like something I can do as a beginner.
My pleasure! That’s awesome, you can do it!
So cute making some
Thank you for this video, cute little tree. I will make several for stocking stuffers and ornaments. New subscriber, you are one of the very best crochet instructors out there!
You’re welcome! I’m glad others will get to enjoy some of these trees😍 And thank you so much for the kind words, that means a lot.

Oh lovely tree
Thank you!
Love puff stitches. Thank you 🧶
Me too! You’re welcome!
Do you recommend these for beginners
Thank you so much for the great pattern! I'm a novice crocheter and am not sure what blocking means. Could you explain? Thanks!
Here is an article on it! desertblossomcrafts.com/how-to-block-your-crocheting/
I got mixed up at the start because i thought it was 6 puff stitches but after i fixed that it went so quick and they are so cute!!!
Glad you figured it out!
I love these ❣🥰 Thank you for sharing this pattern ❣❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Best tutorial ever!!! Thank you so much!!! 💗💗💗
You're welcome! 😄❤
I love these trees
Thanks!
Very nice. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing this!! Love it!
My pleasure!
Ok new to this need a little guidance. At the end of each row you hdc into the last puff stitch? Thanks
Yes, for all of the rows except for row 2 that is correct! At the end of row 2 you’ll hdc into the last hdc. But rows 3 and onward you’ll hdc into the puff stitch.😊
I just found your channel. Thank you so much. I'm going to try this one
You’re welcome!
How cute. Must try this.
Thanks so much!
Tysm I love the tutorial and it came out super cute!
I have been crocheting since I was 7yrs.old can you make this into a pin to wear on your coat. What size hook and yarns do you use. You said 4mm hook is that a g hook or a e hook.
G hook and worsted weight yarn!
So beautiful ty
How many chains would you start with if you wanted to make this a bit smaller? Say the bottom row had only 5 puff stitches.
I came looking for an answer to this exact question !!! Did you try it ?? 🤞🏻 I was just going to wing it lol
How can I get ahold of the ornament ebook you mentioned? Would love to have a copy
It’s available for purchase here! desertblossomcrafts.com/christmas-ornament-ebook
Thanks for this great pattern, however I do not understand what you mean by blocking the tree???
You steam it to make it lay flat😊 Here’s an article that explains it:desertblossomcrafts.com/how-to-block-your-crocheting/
So cute!! 🧶🎅🏻🧶
Thank you Evelyn!
Could you also make two and put them together with stuffing in the middle? Iam excited to try this pattern
@@DesertBlossomCrafts thank you so much I will try the felt or maybe just as it is it’s so adorable ❤️
What size hook did you use?
Hi, Did you use a 4mm hook or a 5mm? That blue one looks like the Clover 5mm one, and I am wondering because the yarn recommends a 5mm. Thanks!
I used 4mm! The blue hook is not clover (it’s a cheaper brand haha). It wouldn’t hurt if you tried the pattern with a 5mm though😊
@@DesertBlossomCrafts Thanks so much for responding! I made several trees with a 5mm hook and now I will try 4mm! :) These are so fun to make!
Do you have a pattern on how to make a granny square around this applique
No I don’t, sorry :(
Where is the link for the ebook. I rather crochet from hard copy as im left handed so have to kinda crochet backwards. Thank you.
Here’s the link! desertblossomcrafts.com/christmas-ornament-ebook/
After the last single crochet stitch did you make a slip knot before you cut your yarn? Love this pattern. Planning to use it in so many Christmas gift ideas. Keep up the great work.
I’m assuming by slip knot you mean fastening off? If so, yes I did! Glad you enjoyed!
Beautiful
Thanks!
Спасибо за помощь даже людям на другом языке 😎
HI! I love this pattern, where can I find a PDF version of it. Thank you!
As of now the PDF is only available in the Christmas Ornament Ebook (linked in the description!) However, I will let you know if I decide to publish the tree itself separately.
So pretty :)
Thank you!
Can you provide me the stitch count to possibly make this pattern into a dishcloth. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Do you mean to make the tree larger? Im not sure off the top of my head but you basically just want to add more puff stitches at the beginning. If you experiment with the chains at the beginning you should be able to figure it out.
To clarify that, I think you’d want to add an extra 2 chains for every extra puff stitch you want.
I would like to know the name of the color of that yarn was it called a color
Hi Maria, unfortunately the yarn was given to me without a label so I’m not 100% sure. However, I can tell it is Caron Simply Soft so if you look at the color selection of that yarn, you should be able to find something similar (unless they discontinued it)
Yay, thanks! 😍
My pleasure!
How do I block the tree? I seem to be missing this instruction!
So long as you’re using acrylic yarn, you’ll want to steam block them. Here’s an article on how to do that: desertblossomcrafts.com/how-to-block-acrylic/
So I did the first row of puff stitches and I only got four. Any idea what I did wrong 😑
It’s hard to know without a photo🙂If you send me a message or email me one I might be able to better help!
I got the same thing! 15 stitches only and 4 stitches to a puff doesn't make 7 puffs! This pattern makes no sense
It is not working for me at all. I don't know how to make it smaller and smaller towards the top
Beautiful❤
What is the name of the PDF?
The PDF is called the Christmas Ornament Ebook! The link is in the description. :)
How much yarn do you use? :)
You really don’t need much at all! You can use small leftover balls you have in your stash. :)
my tree does not lay flat, it curves. what am i doing wrong?
Sometimes that happens due to yarn or tension - the good news is it is easily fixed! You can steam block it so it lays flat. Here’s an article on how to do that if you’re not familiar: desertblossomcrafts.com/how-to-block-acrylic/
Tank UA-cam Google bay,Hélène ❤😊
How do you make a garland of it?
What I would do is make a bunch of trees and then string them together using either a long piece of yarn or a long chain!
What size hook ?
G/4mm! 😊
How do you block this?
I use the steam blocking method 😊
Why do I only get five when I start the puffy stitch 😭😭😭
You didn't show us how to block it.
Mine does not look like yours 😂
The written on Pinterest is wrong
These are extended puff stitches and is not considered a beginners stitch.
