My daughter had a water leak in a storage unit where all her Christmas decorations were being stored. She lost all her decorations. I thought I would make a dozen of these for her Christmas tree as she starts to replace her ornaments slowly. This tutorial is perfect. I always love your teaching style, love that you don’t play obnoxious music in the background and are so clear in your instructions. Many thanks❤

This was my very first attempt at crocheting in rounds, I have ADHD and really struggle with instructions for projects (especially when they don’t have clear visuals) so I’ve avoided anything other than blankets or scarves until now - I wanted to make something special for my family members this Christmas and decided to go out of my comfort zone with this. It turned out amazing and your tutorial is the first crochet pattern video I’ve ever been able to follow without getting so frustrated that I have to give up! I’m excited to check out the rest of your vids and learn now things, thank you for taking away my fear of working in rounds 😊

Tip that made a big difference for me: Use marker for the first single crotchet stich of each round and especially at the top of the initial chain 2 at the beginning of the final round. It helped me find the correct spot to insert needle for slip stich at end of rows. Result was much cleaner for me.

Thank you for posting this snowflake. I first followed along with variegated yarn, so easy. Then I bought some yarn with a sliver thread, it was a little bigger and just as nice. But then, I like to work with size 10, 20 and 30 thread, so I found size 10 silver and gold, getting started was kind of hard, but after the first row it came out really nice. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for this tutorial, it was nice to follow along to as a beginner; this is the second thing I've properly crocheted (and finished!).
I used a plush yarn for this with the recommended size 6.5mm hook, the finished result is slightly bigger than my hand spread out, and I love it! It's a bit floppy although I think that is due to my tension being off and uneven, but is still charming as ever and I think I may make a garland out of these snowflakes!

Thank you for demonstrating this so clearly. I had a lot of fun crocheting it with you. I'm planning on making different sizes to hang against my evergreen curtains. And already planning on telling my sister about this snowflake pattern.

I just finished my first snowflake ! It was fun and easier than it looked. Thank you. Mine is a little bit crooked, but after I practice some, I'm sure it will get better. I love your tutorials!

@@Guttergirl61 Any that pops up after a web search :D There are some really quick ones (although not quite as intricate as Robin's), and you can also experiment yourself - just create a circle of a few rows, stitch count = multiple of 6 + chain spaces, then play around with picot edging (ch3-5-7-5-3 next to one another look great!).

I have been struggling and struggling ALL DAY to make one of these kinds of '5 minute snowflakes' and your video was the first one where I think I saw where I was struggling: work into the middle of the HOLE of the magic ring, rather than trying to stitch around the edge. You have saved my sanity! Tomorrow I'm gonna be making it snow at our house!

@@HookedbyRobin It's three shades because that' what I have on hand, and it's far from more than a beginner attempt (how is your center crochet, the one after the magic ring, so neat and smooth?) but I DID IT! And when my husband came into the room I threw it at him and told hm it was snowing lol!
