Haha thanks, and yeah I’ve driven through some heavy rain since then and the dirt is still on there.. looks like I’ll need to go to an actual truck wash lol
Oh yeah Louisiana is hot too! I left my last GoPro in the truck there for one day and it cooked it lol. And yeah the tarps and harness are definitely a hassle to deal with
I’ve never done local driving so I couldn’t really give a comparison. The OTR life is definitely a big change from any other job, but I’ve really been enjoying it
Ok I don’t think I want to do flatbed truck driving cause I’m really afraid of heights like I am dead serious if I go up there y’all guys will be seeing me puke everywhere 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Does Melton come to Maine often? I live here in Maine and would like to get my Class A then go Flatbed. I see Melton trucks around but it's not too often. I'm wondering how hard it would be to get home if I went to Melton. Yes, the heat sucks. It may not get as hot as other places but the humidity is what gets you here.
As long as there’s a truck stop or some other truck parking facility near you then hometime won’t be difficult. Or if you have enough space on your personal property you can park there. I’ve only gone into Maine twice, but our routing can be pretty random, so you could end up anywhere at anytime in the lower 48.
How do they determine your route while you’re out on the road? Do they give you the stops you’ll be going to the week before or day before. How does that part work?
I don’t know for sure, but I think they do if you have to drive in the actual urban part of NYC. I’ve been through NY a couple times but never got anything extra. But I was just passing through on the interstate
Love the video. Love the extra safety steps that You used.
So safe that he had the ladder the wrong way lol
I just finished my orientation this week, I will have a truck tomorrow. I hope everything will be fine. Thank you for your video.
Congrats! Everything will work out, just be safe and don’t rush. Good luck out there!
Dude, Wash that truck! lol I love going to Maine. Great video, and prefect timing with the dry humor. "Gave Man Style... Manually" Prefect

Lots of respect to you. VT/NH/ME have some narrow roads with low hanging branches.
That’s cool they have harnesses like at climbing walls.
I’m so glad Once I get my CDL I’m doing reefer cause this flatbed stuff will not work for me Hell nah
Securing and driving. Good video
Flip the ladder around. Great videos. Keep them coming.
Hell nah ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
Delivering loads and how those go. Interactions with pick ups and such.
Both I’m a new melton driver I start orientation next week and I would love to see more content on both but mostly tarping if you don’t mind
I agree… I’m from Louisiana, we have two seasons, summer and fall lol I miss flatbedding but not the tarps and idiot harness lol
Oh yeah Louisiana is hot too! I left my last GoPro in the truck there for one day and it cooked it lol. And yeah the tarps and harness are definitely a hassle to deal with
@@ianelbert I spoke too soon… they talked me into switching back this week… let the fun and sweating begin lol
Mixture of like daily flatbed life securing loads videos. I'm in school hoping to come to melton
Alright cool! Thanks for the feedback
Thinking about coming onboard, kinda skeptical about it though. I’ve been driving locally since 2019

@@ianelbert alright brother, thanks. Stay safe out there

More securing bro, I’m in second week orientation with Melton

I drove through there as well lol
Nice! it’s a very interesting drive lol. Definitely a welcome change from all the mind numbing interstate driving
How do they determine your route while you’re out on the road? Do they give you the stops you’ll be going to the week before or day before. How does that part work?
Sometimes you’ll get a pre plan the day before but that’s the earliest. Usually you don’t know until the day of when you go to pick up
They gave you a freightshaker that sucks
Lol, it’s not too bad once you get used to it. I did like my trainers Kenworth though
Does melton pay more for driving through new york?
I don’t know for sure, but I think they do if you have to drive in the actual urban part of NYC. I’ve been through NY a couple times but never got anything extra. But I was just passing through on the interstate
Go
Got to tmc
Why’s that?
Because man I work for them it’s a great company
@@isaiahgreen2595 I’ve talked to some TMC drivers and it seems like a solid company. I like Melton though, but either one is probably a good choice
I think melton is a great company I just preferred Tmc
