    So happy to see a couple Albertans who still honor this beautiful wild herb. We harvest in our own yard, around Nordegg or Jasper if we need more. Thankful to have come across this channel. Thank you for sharing as well.

    Awesome to see a fellow Albertan making use of the land! I live in southern Alberta. I just started making Ivan chai this year! What an amazing plant with a rich history. I have been fermenting culinary herbs for years, but never considered teas. Thanks for the video, I will check out your store to purchase some of your tea! I can’t get enough.

    Very well done, I wasn't aware of how special the fireweed or Ivan Chai was. I've played amongst them not knowing they were anything more than a weed. Thank you very much!

I’m new to your channel but I’ve been watching so many the last few days and already see so many things I’d love to buy from your website... plus I’m learning a lot of wonderful cheese recipes! Thank you! Blessings in the name of Yeshua!

    I was looking at this plant for couple of years already to start creating some good stuff from it, so definitely will start with this tea and then hopefully got inspired to do much more from it. Can you tell me On what temperature and how long do you roast the leaves? Thanks I found your video really helpful. Great job

    • @fourseasonsnorth

      I roast for about an hour at 250F, stirring a couple times.

      how long does it have to ferment after crushing? and in what conditions?
      and how long and conditions do you let it age after roasting?

  • @AK-pq4zz
    @AK-pq4zz 2 роки тому +1

    Love the video and I'm wondering if you put the leaves in something during the fermentation process or just kept it wrapped in cloth? Also how many days for fermentation before drying? One more thing where do you get your shoes? They look so comfy :) hope to hear back and thank you!

    • @fourseasonsnorth
      @fourseasonsnorth  2 роки тому +2

      Some folks will oxidize in a bowl or jar, but I keep the rolled leaves in a cloth while they oxidize for 2-3 days before drying. Watch that they don't start moulding. If they do, begin drying them right away. My shoes are moccasins that my sister Julia made for me! www.fourseasonsnorth.com/julia-gallery

    Beautiful! I have picked some now..I just wonder over the first process? You putted them on the sheet and how long time before you started to role it? Or what did you really in the first step? :)

    • @fourseasonsnorth
      @fourseasonsnorth  Рік тому +1

      I wilted them before rolling. Makes it easier :)

    • @pernillalundberg5380

      Okey..I tried to understand what really means?🙈 Thanks for answer!

    • @fourseasonsnorth
      @fourseasonsnorth  Рік тому

      After picking the leaves I spread them out on a sheet and allow them to wilt them for about 6 hours. Then it's easier to roll them.
