Congrats on being under contract! I hope all goes well with the closing! City living will be different for sure, but a fun new adventure! You’ll be busy the next few months for sure getting the house furnished and put together, but enjoy that time! Welcome to Houston! The place that has the craziest drivers in the world! We live a hour south of Houston, and I HATE driving in Houston...but it has a lot to offer when you live in a small town. You are much younger then me, so I'm sure the traffic won't bother you much. I know there are at least 2 stitching stores....I tried to visit them one time, but they were closed. The zoo is absolutely amazing!!! We take all our friends and family there when they visit. Enjoy!!

Hoping your house closing goes smoothly! I was about to ask if you had checked if your fabric was square since the Joann brand is notorious for issues with that but then saw your final clip 🙁. But glad you're able to make it work! The fabric color looks great!
Thank you! Is that a thing?? It’s the first time I’ve used the fabric and likely the last time! My pillow is going to be slightly wonky with rectangular stitches 😂
@@CocohamasStitchery I used to follow a cross stitch sub on Reddit and there were frequently comments there about the non square issue - not sure why Joann hasn't picked up on that issue via online feedback and returns. I've looked at some in the past too and found the same thing 😐 your piece will just be unique!
Luckily it’s not going to be an heirloom piece and the frosted pumpkin is quirky anyway! But rest assured I will never buy Joann fabric again
I love hearing about your life & such... I messaged you on instagram asking if you know if your dad knows the color name of his granite counters because I may have the same type here... when you get your own house, maybe you could do your fabric dyeing outside iwth a propane camp stove or something like that? Maybe a turkey fryer would work? Things to think about!

You're right in this case to not count your chickens 'til they hatch. House sales are the ONE place where nobody should count until hatched! There are SO many things that can go wrong and it really isn't over until it's over. Congratulations, though!
I have never seen the fabric dyed in boiling water. Did the fabric shrink at all?
The fabric quality was not great to begin with (has rectangular squares) but I did not feel the fabric shrank... I can’t fully say it didn’t but I lean on the side of no, it didn’t 🤔 (can you tell I am thinking hard about how to answer? 🤣)
I was just wondering Rocio after you dyed the fabric did you use the neutralizer I'm wanting to dye some fabric but can't find any rit neutralizer would be nice if it's not necessary
I did not! I think it would have kept the fabric even darker had I used it but I didn’t want to boil more water and risk any more possible staining accidents 😂

Hobby Lobby has some good fabric for quick fix if you have one of those close
I do but it’s in a super busy shopping center during the holidays! Once it dies down, I may go pick up some zweigart evenweave to continue dyeing experiments!
