I wanted to share my getting-back-into-reading tip! I had the same problem of wanting to read but getting distracted. I decided to re-read Harry Potter and after I finished a book I would watch the movie. It was fun because I had a motive to finish the book and Harry Potter is amazing so knew I was gonna like the books again. So pick something you’ve read before (and loved) and reread it! Or read a book that was made into a movie you’ve been wanting to watch! Good luck with your reading adventures 🤓
I love STITCHING Sooo much I have been slack on reading. What I did b\c I love books is that I took out an Audible subscription and started listening to books. I just admit it's a BIG change for me as I am old school (68) and like holding my book. But, I will\ can transition into anything! Love your Mira Santa and your haul...Oooolala!! HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY IN 2020!!
I just want to do everything at the same time! Watch flosstube, read, and stitch! I may have to listen to a book in an earphone and watch flosstube while stitching 😂
Hi Rocio, I had to laugh when Gazpacho was tired!! My girl Zoe does the same thing. She gets tired from playing with my son's puppy and hides by me!! I received the 12 day Nice List box. Now really....like I can wait a month to open it!! I'm going to do it now!!! Oh!! As for reading..I'm an avid reader too but have slacked off because of cross stitch so im doing audio books or designating bedtime for an actual book.. Have a great week. Hugs
Thanks for sharing my Project Trackers. Glad they arrived safely. I'm an English teacher and I LOVE reading. I'm in reading clubs and can read a few books a month - even while keeping up with grading papers. In March, I completely lost my ability, desire, and love of reading. Even Audible, which is what I resort to when I'm exercising and stitching. I think I was must mentally stressed and lost the ability to escape into a book. The last pick for my book club was Boys in the Boat - and I loved it. I would never have picked it myself, but it made me feel good again and I got all the 'feels.' Now I'm craving that again. So, starting my next two books this week. First, find a book that really reaches you in the first chapter or two. And then - draw a bath, relax, and just read. Candles, bath bomb, privacy - and I can really, really concentrate and just get lost. Give it a try.
Wow, Santa's Magic LIVE does not even compare to the printed pattern, it is STUNNING! You're doing a Beautiful job! Kreinik is NOT easy to work with and I love that Frankenstein book, great gift for someone who collects books. Would love to know what the other 2 books were!
Hahhah! The unicorn just killed me! Thanks for shout out, it was so out of the blue, I was like that’s about me! 🥰I even got new people commenting that they came over to my channel when they heard about me from u. I really wanna see u vloging, I think that will suit u 🤗
I’m with you on the books. I’ve been listening to audiobooks for years so that I can read and stitch at the same time. I found that after I started reading illustrated chapter books to my daughter (Goth Girl by Chris Riddell is a favorite) I could focus more on print and eventually got back into reading physical books and e-books. The 12 Days of Xmas series was quite a find!
I was SO excited for you when you ended up being the winner!! Thank you for your kind words and stitchy love. And I'm so glad you got your tree!! I wonder if 123stitch nabbed the remaining Hoffman trees right before I contacted them... it was so elusive! You da best. Jam sends some burps and farts Gazpacho's way.
I am recently coming out of a massive reading slump - it really is no joke! I kept trying to get out of it but it just wasn't the right time - and then it was! I found that rereading some favorite books was key, along with finding some good audiobooks to enjoy while stitching. Currently LOVING Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo and just re-listened to The Red Tent by Anita Diamant.
Gazpacho was SO happy to hear from Jam today! He said that he will be sending some regurgitated kibbles (something about how it's similar to a furball..?)
All the Mirabilia’s! I have quite a collection of them myself 😁 Have you seen her mom’s Santa of the Forest (Lavender & Lace, I think?)? I stitched it for my mom and really love it 💕
Thanks for the video. Do you know where the announcements about Mirabilia’s going out of print come from? I haven’t been able to find that info anywhere. I don’t do Facebook, and I keep thinking this is ridiculous that the information isn’t listed on the Mira or Wichelt websites.
So I don't personally know of an official place where they announce which ones are going out of print. But the FB group "Mira, mira on the wall" people will post when it appears one is out of print and then the news spreads from there.
The book Frankenstein was pretty dull. The monsters point of view was better than the scientists. If you thought Frankenstein was dull, avoid the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Unless you are an architecture major...yes it has flying buttresses, and is built of stone, I’d like to hear more from Esmerelda though! I have still to start my mermaid or B&tB. I did end up with a new start for the Houston trip...14ct Aida...and apparently I’m not a car stitcher. I really want to start mermaid next Saturday.
@@CocohamasStitchery Dracula is good. Its a straightforward story vs way overdescriptive flowery prose. Portrait of Dorian Grey was ok, Phantom of the Opera is good. Don Quixote I did not like. Murder on the Orient Express was ok. Scarlet letter was ok, Moby dick was long but ok, wasn't fond of Canterbury tales, the invisible man was pretty good, the woman in white is ok. I'm eternally torn on how to rate Lolita. Yes what the main character does is despicable. But its written so tastefully that you hear such bad things about the book and then go "but wait, it never actually says *what* he specifically did". Its not HH touched this and stuck that there and L reacted in this manner. I really enjoyed the moonstone and the count of monte cristo. Sleepy hollow was good, black beauty was good.
@@CocohamasStitchery nope not at all. I do some special education law and many of my students require this as an additional support. Inncluding my own son who has anxiety and ADHD as well as having dyslexia.
Kindle unlimited is helpful when you’re in a book slump. I usually have to jump through a handful of titles and genres and then all of a sudden a book will catch me and I’ll get a reading bug (much like a stitchy bug). Also. 😂 You’re going to get me in trouble (not real trouble) with haul. All I want to do now is buy a million Mirabilia charts.
Catching up on your videos! You are always lovely to watch, and no you don't talk too much! Loved seeing your projects!
Great video love Santa 🎅! I need to got check out the boxes! Have a great evening and happy stitching 🧵😊💕🤗

I’m stitching toil and trouble by plum street samplers on the same fabric as your Santa, PTP meditation! It’s a beautiful color!!!

Can you do an audio book while watching Netflix/UA-cam?! 😂 Maybe an earphone in one ear? So many things, so little time!

I will definitely try that! And yes, the trackers are WONDERFUL! I am loving it so sooo much!
I am loving Sylvia’s project trackers too!!! Definitely using them in 2021 for all my projects
Each one of mine is gonna have them! It'll make me feel so much better about how long each project "actually" takes
Love your stitching as usual. But I also love your big haul. Great shopping there Rocio! 😊
These hauls need to slow down a little 😂 I have a house to furnish in the near future!
I think Grunge Basics by BasicGrey for Moda Fabrics would look great for your pillow back.
Thanks for the recommendation! I will definitely check them out!
Great minds think alike! I was going to suggest the black grunge.
I hope you will finish Santa's Magic. It looks like a fun stitch.
I hope so too!! This weekend is a NEED TO STITCH weekend!

The other books were: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and A Deadly Education 💗 I haven’t read them yet but I’ve heard good things about both! Enjoy!
So good to visit with you hon!!! 🌻😊🌻
Yeah you on 100 owl sampler. I have the fabric and last threads arrived but still haven't started it yet. Gonna use you for inspiration ☺️
Can't wait to see it!! 😍
Just found your Floss tube channels. And I just ❤️it.
So happy you found me! If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out.

I did not even know that those Mirabilia (12 days of Christmas) existed....wow.
THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL! I am leaning towards stitching them separately and doing a possible gallery wall when I am 937 years old.
I’m down for a frat girl weekend live /zoom 😬🤗. You always find such great deals, plus you crack me up the whole time😊.
Oooh that would be funnnn! You also need to get me your wishlist woman! There were soooo many things at my LNS'

I can't wait to see the up all night box for the 1st time I completely understand fomo
I can't either! It'll be my first box ever so I am super excited!
Great fun floss tube! Gazpacho truly is puppied out LOL
Oh I know!! He plays the martyr really well 😂 Miss you!
Cocohamas Stitchery Cheryl just got back from Idaho so we will gather ourselves and do a floss tube Friday or Saturday
The Mirabilia webpage states that you will need 4 spools of the 085 Peacock Kreinik.
Thank you! When I noticed how much solid stitching was in it, I went ahead and purchased 4 extra spools! Glad to know I bought enough 💗
Santa's Magic is beautiful! Love your videos and you made me laugh every time you estimated how old you would be when you stitched your haul. So true!
The age estimate is a loose one... 😂

Lori Holt does a good tutorial on cross stitch pillows, it's how I made my first ever ones! Lovely video 😊💕
Thank you! I'll check it out!
Ride that santa train!!!!! You can do it! Also stop enabling me okay thanks bye. Film again soon, love you ❤️
A nasty, dirty, bloody palette 😂🤣love it! Frankie will look great as a pillow.
I was really into my palette.. can you tell 😂
Always love your videos! What was the mirabilia group on face book called please I have just purchased Santa’s magic because yours looks so good!
