I really enjoyed that episode Bex, really good. Would it be defeating the object to also have a tarp for the 'roof'? Bowline: the 🐰 comes out of his 🕳 and runs around the 🎄 and then disappears down the 🕳 again LOL I've never owned a Basha and have always wanted one - you've got my juices flowing now. Great video, all the very best to you and yours 👍 👍 👍 🍻
I think a secondary tarp would be personal choice. Instead I opted for the Gore-Tex bivvy, and sewn a centre zip in it, for this very set up. The intent would be to switch from ratting to aerial with just 2 pieces of shelter kit. I guess only time will tell, and I may change my mind with more testing....All the best Bex
interesting idea, i knew it could and has been done, but never have seen it done before. i have a couple of poncho's that double as hammocks, made by Wilderness Innovation, which have often proven handy when i didnt want to carry a hammock.
If you give this a try, you may never go back to a gathered end hammock again. For (off cam) personal camping I'm looking at the Haven hammock tent (bridge hammock) import is gona be sting in the wallet, but I'm not getting any younger. so every camp is going to be as best as it can be Imo...thanks for watching Neil...bex
Easily hold 100 kg. It was issued to be a ad hoc battle field casualty stretcher also. (HOWEVER) use the hand straps for peace of mind, I use the end tapes at my own risk, but these bits of kit are more robust than you think....
@@bexbugoutsurvivor thats great thank you for the information want to try it but didnt want to go throu my basha 🤣🤣 and i will use the stretcher handles Atb God bless Ginge
Great video, with great ideas, Sir !!! Thank you for sharing !!! What is the weight capacity of the Basha ? Both doubled over, and singled up with the overhang ? Keep up the great work, Sir !

I never thought of turning a basha into a hammock, I knew they can be used as stretchers. Think I might try this with my DPM basha.

Hello Bex The shelter of the Army is for me the best invention ever. Have already slept in it. Keep up the good work because I like your videos
Thank you so much. It is certainly the most comfy hammock I have ever lay in. Lets hope it works out for me this Winter for cold camping too.....
I tried this hammock three years ago. You can see it in my video "camo is my live
Really like the concept just doing this but do you think it would hold a lad weighing 100kg?

Very interesting, if you want a light cord with resistance and with zero stretching try Dyneema Cord.
I tried Dyneema in another video, it was 1.75 mil. It creaked like a bit@h, but held up well.
Great video, with great ideas, Sir !!!

Great video Bex
Gonna buy a basha, am bidding for new MTP on eBay
Was wandering how often do you have to reproof it
From personal experience I have never re proofed one. My Dpm is the best part of 40 years old...
