Bowie... the master of the stage... not just a 'rock' star... He is a performer like no other. Great composer, singer & showman. This is one of his better 'live' tours. His cocaine days are somewhat behind him. I saw this show at Madison Square Garden when I was 17 yrs old & was never the same after it. Bowie is a genius.
This was the tour my mom finally let me go see. It was so magical. I had never had such a wonderful night in my life! I've seen every tour since then. Everybody at my high school loved Bowie. The local popular DJ loved him.
I always feel that Bowie went through a period of performing these songs in the late 70's with absolutely no passion at all, just going through the motions. Little did he know that his fall from God like status was just around the corner
@HippieJimi totally agree with you. His talent is just geneuis. You dont have to beleive it from the fans just look at the many musicians that Bowie has inspired and respect him.
the other night i met a guy and found out he liked bowie so i shouted at him "SHAKE MY HAND! any friend of bowie is a friend of mine..." I was very drunk, it was a nice evening...
david bowie is the existing evidence , that popmusic can be good he`s a genius i m more into hard rock like led zep , hendrix , or metallica etc , but i also like musicians like peter gabriel and bowie , i really like his 90 record outside !
@sexpistol1979 Unfortunately there is no official video of the Stage Tour only the album. David Hemmings did video it ( Bowie acted in his bad novie Just A Gigilo) but it was never released. Best version of Suffragette City live is on Wolfgangs Vault bootleg of Bowie's 1976 Station To station tour.
can anyone tell me if this vid is from the same show? it looks it (hard to tell as in the setlist, ziggy stardust and suffragette city were either side of the encore break - so their clothes still could have changed) what do you guys think?
@noddyneeds ... Not so much, no. This is just two years before Scary Monsters. That was a divine album. A few more years after that till the Serious Moonlight tour which was a FINE set of performances no matter how unkind time has been to Let's Dance.
Or you clearly don't know that when you use your right hand for the guitar frets you are playing it left handed. And even if he did use the wrong hand, that wouldn't be ironic. Learn your shit.
Of all of Bowie's cool looks this was the coolest. He looks like a superhuman here.

close , we forgive you....
only thing missing was Ronno.
wtf ? he did it right man...I`m left handed guitar player...no doubt
I don't trust people who () to ()
or maybe godlike Bowie doesnt know his right from left? go figure deciples !
The guitar in this performance is barely noticeable, totally brings down the song.
Thank you, but you aren't good with me!

Bad mannered crowd ruined the brilliant intro. Nonetheless Bowie owned it as always
