    I was part of the Burke & Wills Expedition in my 5th year history class. I was Burke while my schoolmate was Wills, we had to perform a little act in front of the class. I pretend to die after eating a handful of almonds that were meant to represent the bad seeds he was eating. Then once both of us played dead my friend played a didgeridoo, it was hilarious.

    Why do these titles apply to 20% of the video? Why not split up the videos or make more applicable titles? Most of it's interesting it doesn't make sense to me why it's done this way, quite sure you'd get more views. By attracting people interested in subjects not in the title. Also better visibility in search results.

    So Burke was a 39 year old man obsessed with a 17 year old... aaaah how times haven't changes

    Enjoyed (not the right word) the Christchurch segment. I lived through it, and like that this snapshot has been taken of what it was like.

    I was in Christchurch literally the day before the first quake in 2010. They knew a "big one" was overdue, but nobody was expecting it to be in Christchurch. (Apparently they didn't even know there was a fault line there.) I returned a few weeks later to catch my flight home and seeing the aftermath was surreal.

    What made the second Christchurch earthquake so much deadlier than the first, was the time it struck! the first hit when everyone was home in bed, the second hit during the day when everyone was at work.

    I kind of thought I was going to watch an interesting video about an expedition... based upon the title... the way it flits around, It's confusing and hard to follow.

      If its the footage at 24:44 you mean, then its cgi. I dont know what city it is, but the wave is definitely fake.

      @@TheCatsofVanRaptor - I think this is a TV channel that's been making documentaries for years? from what I understand they are uploading episodes from over the years, I could be wrong though! :)
      I wonder if the other commenter maybe assumed you meant "how are there so many of these stories??" and I wonder that myself too sometimes, haha. Like, how are we so fortunate to have had so many of these tales survive?? They could have so easily been lost to time. And it makes me sad thinking about all the tales that are lost that we will never know :c

      Burke and Wills were not the only explorers. When I was a kid there was an entire television season talking about all of them. Burke and Wills were the Scott of the Antarctic of Australia. The Roald Amundsen of Australia was John McDouall Stuart, the bloke the highway from Port Augusta to Darwin is named after.

    • @OldPumpMan
      @OldPumpMan 2 роки тому +3

      Its part of their belief system. It has something to do with seeing photos of other aboriginal people who have died. Im NOT an expert & am probably getting a whole lot wrong, but it has something to do with that.

    • @aaronleverton4221

      The Australian Aborigines no longer use the name of the deceased (in some areas they even change the names of the living if they share a name with the recently deceased), nor do they look upon their images.
