- Because of a big track fire just north of 59th Street Columbus Circle our train had to reverse back to 72nd street and use the rarely utilized 72nd Street spur.
It was very chaotic and our train went into emergency many times.
Personally I could smell the smoke and from what the operator said afterwards was he could see the flames quite clearly and it was filling the tunnels and the first car.
The heroic employees of this train and the dispatchers made quick thinking decisions and helped prevent the fire from worsening.
Here you can see the first hand events hopefully you enjoy - Авто та транспорт
Sounds as though things got really fouled up. That's the only section on the entire IND division to have diagonal braces on the I-beams between tracks. That was the very first IND segment to be built.
Thanks for sharing!
In certain situations those radios could help the operators.
Wrong railing is very dangerous movement
Nothing new when it comes to the NYC transit system
The train being "downed" into emergency more than once is just too much work for the crew and wear and tear on the flanged wheels. The person who gave instructions to the train operator would likely be the line deputy supervisor on the road or at the Rail Control Center. Now you know that transit workers are "The Best People Around" who roll the big wheels abound. I am a subway buff and I approve of this message.
Wow that radio transmission is smoking 🔥
Home signals not signaled for reverse traffic usually don’t ‘clear’. Someone at control center as well as local tower wasn’t thinking about ahead of time.
From this you can see the employees are more aware about actualities of danger than management who might be inclined to assume a path is clear at 96th Street when it's not.
man im surprised that you were really pateint while you were on the train and really liked listening to the chaos on the scanner great video
I had to be patient for various reasons
cool video and have more videos to come
That's crazy, Single tracking.
LORD HAVE MERCY UPON THE MTA TRAINS
I have the same radio
The train's going OINK OINK!!
You guys need to look up the ultra modern and efficient train systems in China right now. You'll be blown away. Makes our subway system look like something from medieval times.
and also zip it up after sucking ccp off.
yes our subway system is simpler, but at least we live in a normal country
What radio frequency were you using?
That's confidential information
lmao no its not @@ryandixon6428
Hot 97.1 FM funk flex all day!
B2 Division (IND) Road channel is 161.515.
Where can I get one of them radios?
Amazon
Ok, I’m not as knowledgeable. What exactly is happening here? At one point the track ahead looks almost abandoned. Would someone please explain a bit? thanks?
Track fire at 125. Had to reverse the train the other way to avoid it.
So there's a middle track between the local and express in that section?
Yes, it's a relay or pocket track on each level between 72nd and 81st Sts.
Still posting on subchat
You can see it on the map www.nycsubway.org/perl/show?/img/trackmap/pm_west_1.png
Why did BIE keep happening?
I'm guessing it was due to a raised trip arm passing underneath the train (because the signals were all red), so the train kept getting tripped to stop.
@@RXSVN_2 at least with home and marker signals which cannot be keyed
What radio frequency you hearing
Since it’s common knowledge you can buy a radio on Amazon and the frequencies are also posted on the internet. Just look up MTA IRT BMT IND frequencies

@@mauricioramirez9744 I thought it was 103.5 ktu
@carpentermike1675 That would be the B2 Division road frequency, 161.515. They are receivable on any scanner, even the cheapest 30 year old radios will receive the signals just fine.
Just believe me, there is a fix.
holy shit this operater needs to be more patient
What happend some one explain pls 😊
a track fire broke out in front of my train and we had to reverse up to 72nd st against the direction of train traffic and on to a rarely used spur

Appreciate you
work crews and criminally dirty riders cause the fires absence of police is the real cause
Yup, thanks to Politicians not supporting their Officers and low morale in the NYPD, causing massive exodus by cops either resigning or retiring and cops being deprived force to stay past their end of tour and deprived of their RDOs, and shortstaffing of cops.
