  • Because of the derailment a few days ago the MTA has been trying to restore service , move the derailed trains and fix up any damages
One step is to transfer the damaged R62a’s to 207st yard
It’s quite uncommon to see a move like this

MCB (diesel) to H2C (R62A) adapter. No electrical or pneumatic connections, it's all iron to iron only.
The white cable you see is the MU cable that stretches to the other end of the train to connect to another diesel that can be hooked up on that end. If the diesel following connects to the other end then only the diesels (and their rider cars) provide braking, the 62As are dead weight

It is really amazing how some people just don't have a clue. Not so fast! The upper left corner of the bonnet was damaged. I believe the bonnet will be replaced with a new one. That is a good reason the 5-car train was moved to 207 Street as the main shop which is the second largest train shop in America. You may want to read my comment for more information.

@@kitsunefaye1661 The age of the railcar may not be decisive like the availability and the inavailability of spare parts. New York City Transit Car Equipment Department cannot afford to lose another railcar. The R46 cars are not altogether replaced. The R62A and R46 rolling stocks are not of the same division.
