No Air Decelerate combined with the Spin Dash really is overpowered. It's a ton of fun but holy cow you can skip like 50% of Sky rail with it and other stages. 😂 It even beats out the homing dash sometimes. The Spin Dash does make the 2D sections much more fun overall. You gain alot of speed and it even works through loops! I didn't have Cyberspace Power boost on the save I got Spin Dash (cause I'm stupid lol) so figured I'd do this recording while re-unlocking it before going into NG+

it just goes to show how much sonic was nerfed in Frontiers as a whole i mean they gave us the ability to level sonic's speed kind of like in unleashed and it doesn't feel like a upgrade at all. A great example is stage 1-2 you can FEEL how slow sonic is compared to stage 1-1 even with the spin dash. I know why they did that but i would have preferred much longer levels if they got to show off just how fast sonic could get and the crazy things he is capable of doing.
@user-rd6zt2hi7r They add extra boost gauge. You'll basicly have four rings of boost gauge if you get them all. It's nice for situations where you can't do the infinite sign.

Switch the difficulty to Easy. It lowers the score needed to S Rank the challenges. It's stupid easy, I know, but as somebody who did it for the Spin Dash but didn't want to go through the trouble of getting it on hard, and having just unlocked it a while ago and seeing how stupid broken and fun it is to use, I say "I don't care, it's totally worth it." Hope this helps.

Spin dash just looks like the Boost from previous Sonic games (Boost + Damage). I actually find the new one more balanced and fun. The no air deceleration thing is actually the insane and broken part TBH.
It surprises me that they manage to implement the spindash, the roll and the drop dash in a Single button B+lt= spindash Move+lt= overpowered roll In the air+lt= the better drop dash
Hopefully in the future, Sega should make a new modern 3d sonic where he boost and spin dash the same time. Both mix really well. All new levels where it least 2 - 3 minutes longer as well. This is a great progress.

Well it's stronger than SA1, I still like SA1 spin dash more as it's abit more balanced and is tied into the levels better. That being said we haven't seen a momentum based Spin Dash in so long I'm just happy we got this.

Quick question for anyone who can answer for a friend in I: Can you unlock Spin Dash in extreme difficulty or is that an upgrade that's, or just locked or very difficult to achieve with all S Ranks on the Action Chain challenges?
Just have to get all s ranks in action chain challenges and then you can just start new game+ on extreme difficulty and play with it from the beginning

My friend was already on Extreme, he NG+'d, and he's on easy to Unlock it faster, so now all he has to do is beat the NG+ with Spin Dash, do another NG+ from that file on Extreme, and then he can do a 2nd extreme playthrough with spin dash. All the exposition out of the way, thanks again for the advice. The Normal and Hard Scores are tricky, I'd hate to imagine what you'd have to do to unlock it on Extreme if you're even able to. Just told my friend what you said, and he appreciates this! Cheers!
I find it hilarious that people are mad that this is basically a boost with a hitbox. I think that's how it should've been all along. Boost for top speed but you can't just dash through enemies and spin dash for when you want to destroy enemies and keep going. Boost keeps speed but has a low cap spin gets higher cap but only speeds up on slopes and slows after a bit on straights or inclines. Makes both moves possible because each one has a purpose
I've figured out some tech for 1-2 at the beginning once you get to the big hill spindash as normal but go to the left where there is a platform which has collision and jump dash to get out of the invisible wall then do a stomp bounce to do a stomp dash on the balloons and then proceed as normal
The wonderful thing about this update is the fact of for the first time in the franchise to coexist the spin dash with the boost what in the open world the spin dash to fly and the boost reach a thousand times further than we thought months ago and in cyberspace not to mention that the two are a real madness and more with the desaseleration motion what is incredible for the momentum of all the Game with or without Spindash For the first time I am in favor of the spin dash and turbo in the same game and it is beautiful and although the spindash will be the most broken of the game because the turbo helps expand what the spindash brought as a novelty being perfect in absolutely all tantl cyberspace as open zone
This goes to show that the spin dash was always better than the boost. No disrespect to the boost formula but they should’ve never gotten rid of the spin dash in the first place

I found it weird how they make spin dash work with loops, but drop dash and rolling by pressing down is still broken.

i had to raise air dec. to 25 bc otherwise i felt like i was playing as tails. they broke this game in half. it's so funny

2D doesn't feel slow anymore (like seriously, power boost did almost nothing in 2D).

They made it tough to get the S rank on all the challenges to get the spin dash.
