    Excellent review, excellent. Loads more information than I actually got in the shop where I ordered it. You told me so much more than the so called 'experts' know!!!! Thank you

    Nice review and nice lid. Great colour. I knew it wouldn't be cheap but woohoo that's a lot of moola for an open face. However; if I wanted an open face it would probably be my choice. I like the shape of it and that adjustable visor system is a very good idea.

    Hi Tony, yet another great videos. I have watched many of them all and subscribed. I also own a ST red, wonderful bike. I was wondering your thoughts on the Bell custom 500 vs the J.O. I know you previously reviewed the Bell, and liked it but now say the J.O is your "go to" open face. Any reason for the change? Also can you fit googles under the visor on the J.O

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  6 років тому +1

      Hi Tore, I still have the Custom 500 and still wear it. For me the J.O is a better fit, its quieter and the pull down visor adds a level of practicality. BUT the Shoei is twice the price. In terms of goggles, it depends. Mx style goggles won’t fit, but smaller ones my. Sunglasses are no problem

      Thanks for quick response Tony. Yea the individual fit is essential.

    Excellent review Tony from cave. I've really liked it and thanks for doing this video. I'm new to your channel and I don't if you have done other helmet reviews. Did you do any similar reviews on other open face helmets, namely LS2 Bobber?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  7 років тому +1

      Hi terraccan, and welcome. I haven't reviewed the LS2 helmet, but I have (some while ago) reviewed the Bell Custom 500 helmet, which is roughly in the same price category. I'm based in the UK and for a helmet to be legal on the road, it must have a ECE 22.05 rating. The LS2 Bobber only has a DOT rating, which makes it not legal, in which case I wouldn't review it.

    Hi Tony! Excellent review!!!! I like the way you explain thing :) I'm going to buy my first jet helmet because i've always wear full face Arai helmets on my R6, but now I'm turning to a Bonneville so I want an "open face" and it has to be a good product. I'm pretty convinced about this Shoei but what about ventilation? I can't see any air hole on this helmet... If i wear it in summer, will i suffocate soon? :o Thank you!!!

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  6 років тому +2

      Thanks Alberto, this is certainly a good helmet. As for ventilation, you’ll find having your face exposed is all you’ll need....

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 роки тому

      The J Cruise is more like a half version of a GT Air II. Full visor as well as a drop down sun shield. Its going to have much better ventilation for your head too.

    • @MarkTheBike1

      Hi Tony, You have 2 choices a glue mount or a clip mount. I was hoping to use the clip mount but it seems to not fit correctly.

    Also I was wondering why Shoei helmets are so damn expensive?? $269 ???!!! Won't your skull crack, if your head is ran over by a truck with this helmet on? I don't know history of Shoei.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  7 років тому +6

      There are numerous reasons why a helmet can be expensive. For a start, Shoei invests huge amounts of money in R&D. The materials used are very high quality and stringently tested. They are still manufactured in Japan, where labour costs are high but Shoei want to ensure they are manufactured to the highest standard. This helmet is incredibly comfortable, light, quiet and strong, which excellent build quality. If your head gets run over by a truck, any helmet is going to be of limited use, especially an open face. As the old advert used to say 'if you've got a $20 head, buy a $20 helmet!'

    • @sdqsdq6274
      @sdqsdq6274 7 років тому

      lol you would be surpised how strong it is , not a half face but a full face arai , i seen a photo of a car running over it ,helmet didnt crack , not sure about shoei thou

    • @turtlepowersf
      @turtlepowersf 6 років тому +1

      Shoei, along with Arai (and maybe a few others) do and always have made the best helmets. From the material of the shell, to the vents, pad design, comfort, etc., everything about their helmets are made with purpose and thought. What's it worth to you to have THE BEST helmet in any category of helmets? that's subjective. But sometimes the question may be, what's your life worth to you? I dont mean to sound harsh, i even own a few helmets just for looks for quick trips or slow rides on hot days, but i dont kid myself. If you REALLY care about safety and want to protect yourself against that rare accident scenario when youre reallllly gonna test the limits of the helmet, you have to spend a good amount of money.
