- bought the Shoei J.O jet helm because its the only classic looking jet helm with an integrated visor, unfortunately this feature does not work ...its windy around the eyes and makes soo much noise that I had to fix it. The helm fits like a glove and now its the calmest I have ...next time I have to test gear on the bike, but improving it makes it even more yours !

The J-Cruise has the same problem and I had to throw it away in 2 months! I have never had such a loud shoei helmet
Now have the SHOEI Jet RJ Platinum and I am satisfied
Thanks for this! I have a J.O as well and it's noisy as hell, but a beautiful helmet. I wonder if you can do something thin around the visor??
Just got one of these, great helmet but noisy as hell and have to have the visor adjuster at 0 or the wind gets me right in the eyes.

Good job dude. I have had the helmet for 1 hour. I bring it back and ordered the j cruise 2.
Its a problem that ALL helmet have with the internal screen. Its the wisling noice on the top edges of the screen. Even with earpluggs.
Put the hand over the gap between the screen visor and helmet and the loud wisling is gone.
I still have the old shoei J wing, compared with the j.o the J wing is extreem quiet.
Love Shoei but the J.O is a disaster. Now buying the j cruise 2 , a bit to exspensive but I hope that it is at least as good as the old j wing.
Its a shame that NO revieuwer mention that loud whisling!

I wonder if Shoei has improved this helmets noise levels recently? I met a rider that had this helmet and complained about the same issue. The problem (at least here in the UK) is that most (99.9%) of retailers won't allow you to 'test ride' the helmets so it's a total gamble when buying a new helmet and you have to pretty much rely on online real owner reviews. I like the look and idea on this helmet BUT if it's still that bloody noisy then I may as well buy a cheaper model (Bell)? etc... and buy a pair of goggles to wear instead. Nice video and clever craftsmanship. Thanks.
I bought mine last week. Its super quiet --the visor is adjustable to lift it off your noise if that's an issue.There is no wind issues at 110 kms/hr. I cant believe you F........ a $500 helmet for a you tube video. This is the best open faced helmet on the market. Seriously that was the stupid mate.
michael brogan mine is now much quieter, wasnt that expensive and its totally reversible ...be lucky it works for you out of the box
if you paid $500 for this helmet then youre the stupid one. it can easily be found for a little over 300. Besides, why the fuck do you care how he spends his money? maybe he's well off and has the cash to throw around. why the fuck do you care?
how can someone say it's the loudest helmet that he owned, and then someone else say 'super quiet'.. I don't understand..... it's 2020 now... I wonder if it's solved now...
People, that complain it is loud, maybe the fit is not right with gaps between the helment and head?
Jou must be ride it on a bicycle. I had the j.o rat gray. Wishling noice as hell .the noice start at speed 60 km.
And it is about the construction. Compare it with my old j wing, the J wing is quet .. hope the j cruise 2 will be better.

For sure you did not test this helmet. Noisy as hell. Even with earplugs in.
Can one use stickers on the helmet without harm from the solvent,glue etc in the sticker??
Scoot Jockey I place stickers on everything - never had issues - its professional stuff from 3M for cars
Marcel Bilow# i think that some stickers are on the cheap side when made ,so i,ll either have to make some that are not so toxic or go without .Whatever thanx anyhow.
you are right, I made mine myself, choosing the right vinyl helps, these are also easy to remove later

Cause the visor noise is a disaster even with earpluggs in.
Just wear earplugs, job done. You’ve obviously got the wrong size, mine is great, had it fitted in shop, but I do keep to the speed limits, open face helmets are no good if your doing the ton all day 😂🤣 why spend all that money on a top class helmet just to bugger it up, one of the best features of this helmet is the visor, unbelievable.😱 🇬🇧

After 35 years of wearing cheap open face helmets, I went and spent $500 on the j.o. It's the loudest dammed thing I've ever worn on my head. It's maiden voyage drove me friggin bonkers, got home and did what this guy did, with a thin strip of density foam. Stuff the ventilation and screen, I'm not gonna wear ear plugs..other than that it's a great helmet.
You got the wrong size then, mine is perfect.
