As a parent it's hard to watch a child go down certain paths, but with that said you have to get out of the way and let them hit rock bottom. You have done everything you could do from birth to give them everything they need, but sometimes it is not enough, they have to learn the hard way.

The craziest part about this is people that drink and drive , do it usually every weekend and don’t get caught. It just takes one time for them to go to far and make a mistake usually resulting in someone getting killed or injured or some ones property getting messed up. I watched the whole stop, not just these few seconds. Hulk did what any father would do for his son, talking to a lawyer about arranging bail, but made no effort to affect the officer's judgement or interfere in any way and actually admonished the girlfriend for verbally abusing the police, telling her she should apologize. He asked where his son was being taken and when told it would be an 8-hour hold, he said he was going back to sleep.
The girlfriend tried to claim being alright to drive, but blew almost triple the limit. I think Nick needs new friends.
At the end, Hulk and an officer had a conversation and you could tell how disappointed he was in what Nick had done.
Both Hulk and his son were respectful and didn't argue about the stop or arrest. Hulk even said that most of the problems he saw with people around him over the years were from drinking alcohol and that when his son left him earlier after their workout he hadn't been drinking and had said he wasn't going to drink that evening.
If this didn't involve Hulk, it wouldn't even make the news, because nothing untoward happened during the stop and arrest.

I watched the entire interaction and at no time did Hulk Hogan attempt to get his kid out of anything. He was respectful and thanked the officers before he left to return home after the officer told him he would be released probably after 10am the next day. He appeared to be really disappointed with his son as well as his sons wife and "friend" in the backseat.

Passed all the tests? You got to be kidding me. He constantly moved his head and that is an automatically fail. He kept making excuses saying he can't turn his neck. And the police officer was right saying what does that have to do with anything as you are not suppose to turn your neck or head at all and only follow with the eyes. His eyes were too slow when following showing impairment and slow motor skills. When he walked the line he touched most of his toe to heel but had to struggle very hard and was very slow as well. A nonimpaired person would have done it three times faster. He kept asking what to turn when he turned around as he kept forgetting the basic instructions due to the impairment and not remembering when it was just shown like 30 seconds beforehand. Lied about not having any drink and the smell is from kissing his GF and even the cop was like you really want me to believe that BS. His eye was watery and his speech was slow and he mumbles a few time.
He also refuses a breath test even though he agreed for the field test. He is also purposedly delaying so his blood alcohol level will drop by the time he is forced to give a blood or breath test much later on. Asking to read the law and then not done and the cop was tired and patient enough but even he said enough is enough and got tired of holding out the paper for him to read and constant delays on purpose. He thought he can get out of it by doing trying to do well on the test as he knew he would blow well over the legal limit. Breath test is way easier and faster why would you choose the field test over a breath test if you had nothing to drink or wasn't drunk? Everybody knows the field test is hard even for sober people so why would anybody choose the field test is the desperate Hail Mary thinking attempt and cocky ego of the drunk person thinking they can fake it and outsmart the police and the test which shows their clear lack of thinking skills at the moment. I have yet to see a video of a very drunk person passing these tests. I am sure some have pass if the officer gave them a very simple short easy test or the officer is like you thinking Nick passed with flaying colors.

Hmmm. Usually when a grown adult gets busted for DUI and his dad shows up on the scene of the arrest, they are told that, your son is an adult, responsible for his own actions and you need to leave. You can bail him out on about 12 hours. Till then, any information you need will be available at the jail.

I watched the arrest video. I'm not sticking up for Nick but I thought he passed the test and was respectful to the police. Also when his Dad showed up he was just as respectful toward the officers and just acted like a concerned parent who knew his son had messed up and was thankful nothing else happened.

However, in a situation as serious and frightening this a parents can help find a good attorney and be a support to let them know they can come out of the mess a better human being. Attempting to try to use influence to get children out of their messes only hurts them in the long run and sends the wrong message.
