    As a new Army Lieutenant in 1982, I was trained on a M60A3 main battle tank. We had onboard lasers, sensors, and computers that provided all the ballistic data for our 105mm main gun. Put the crosshairs on the target, press a button to fire the laser and all inputs were fed to the computer that automatically reset the “lay” of the gun. All that equipment probably weighed about 500 lbs. Amazing to now see all that technology fit into a rifle scope.

    Been using Burris for years. A couple of Full Fields and a Signature back in the day. I had another for a while, maybe Black Diamond or something like that. Great glass for the money. Have Veracity’s on my 7mag and 30-06 now, both with the bullet drop reticle. Love them. The only reason I don’t have the Eliminator is because you can’t legally use electronic aided optics in several western states.

    Man that is next level. Only one question. If you pull up factory ammo what if you're gun is not a 24 inch barrel but a 22 for example. the bullet is not gonna fly as fast starting from the muzzle so wouldnt that skew all the numbers on bullet drop? (Unless they added barrel length to the calculations)

    The only problem with scopes with a ballistic calculator is you also need a chronograph as every ammo manufacturer lie about velocity

    • @BooDamnHoo
      @BooDamnHoo 24 дні тому +2

      A bit more complicated than that. They don't tell you what rifle and specs they used to measure MV. Almost guaranteed your rifle won't be the same. Barrel length, semiauto or bolt action? They USUALLY use a 20" barrel and if you have a 16" then you have to guesstimate the reduction in published MV to get close to your rifle's MV. If they measure with a bolt action rifle, your semiauto will be slightly slower even with the same barrel length, but by how much?

    My buddy put one on his AR 300WM. It's pretty sick. We didn't get to stretch it out, but I think the bells and whistles really come into play when you hunt open country, and suddenly have to shoot up or down at an angle and the shot is pretty long; well within the caliber's ability, but too hard to judge how high to hold in a simple duplex reticle. Some scopes have all kinds of Christmas tree dots in them, and that can help, if you practice enough, but that's hard to do for some of us. I have to drive an hour just to shoot at a 100 yard range; close to four hours for open land with challenging angles. That's a lot of gas at nearly $5/gal. As pricey as this scope is, it makes financial sense when you factor in all the time and money, and the anguish of the one that got away.

    I like Burris they are one of the few scope manufactures that has a lifetime warrant🙌 Hunters need to check their state because a lot of states won’t allow the options like this Burris has to hunt with so save your self a ticket and check before buying one! They are great for target shooting and I have had many of them on my rifle collection over the years but when I buy new I only buy Leupold scopes period! Over 60+ years of hunting reloading and collecting rifles and Leupold are not the cheapest but they are the best you will ever need and US made except some of the real cheap ones.

    • @jerryconrad2737
      @jerryconrad2737 14 днів тому +1

      Actually they would need to spend just as much time at the range as any other setup. Unless you can put every shot in the vital zone at any given distance you should not shoot at game from that far. That takes practice and knowing your equipment. At the end of the day you are still only as accurate as you can shoot. This only helps with one important variable, the holdover.

    Revic and Swarovski build 1 similar to it. They cost more than the 2500$ that Buris will cost you though.

    Only thing I like better on the previous models is the integrated picatinny rail on the bottom of the older ones that gets the cant almost perfectly level

    It's a super cool scope. But really, after you've just done 30 minutes of hunched over stalking, out of breath, with a severe case of buck fever, do you really want to use a remote with your scope? Auto range finding and dope adjustments would definitely be useful though. But gotta keep it fairly simple.
