I just picked up the 6-24x52 this week and I'm pretty happy with it. I would have loved for illumination at this price point, but I can do without it as it's replacing my Mark IV 8.5-25x50. I'm loving the physical indicator on the dial for when you've spun the dial once, then twice. I'm still not sure whether I'll use the tree more or dial more, but I think it makes sense to have both ready to go. Thanks for helping me make an informed decision on the Leupold.
@@TapRackBang72 I think that might be the best option in the lineup.
Thanks for the review was patiently waiting for it before I make a decision, just wondering if there is an aftermarket cap for elevation?
@@severndavenhill I know there is for the Mark 5HD but not sure on the Mark 4HD.
Will do some research.
Leopold will send you a free one that matches your specific rifle and ammo.
@@severndavenhill There are for the Mark 5HD, not sure about the Mark 4HD
@@SmoknJaysGarage never really liked those custom turrets as they don't change when conditions, enviromentals etc change so you are fixed to that.
@VENATICSGEAR depending on individual use, you may find more or less value in it. I tend to shoot more at known distance ranges, so it's great for me.
You one complaint is kind of ridiculous....once you sight in your rifle and pick your ammo, Leopold will send you a free cap that is specific to your set up. And they'll put actual yardage numbers on it for you. And it's completely free.
@@SmoknJaysGarage and everytime you change ammo or your rifles speed changes or the location you are at has completely different enviromemtals, for each of these you will require a different turret cap?
@VENATICSGEAR as a non-competitive shooter, once I find a brand and grain that shoots great and is readily available, I tend to stick with it. I can see where that might not be the case for you. But for most of us it's a great option.
@@SmoknJaysGarage Yes for the normal hunter etc that does not reload or change ammo and barrels frequently it's a great option!
Just returned my second Mark4HD 4.5-18 because the elevation turrets were so terrible. Agree 100 percent on your observations. The indication mark and hash marks on the turrets on both examples I had did not line up properly. They would line up on certain numbers and be in between others when making adjustments. Extremely mushy adjustments and the indicators being inaccurate was a deal breaker. Email leupold about this and no response.
Hi@@82dirtdart sorry to hear aboit your issues. Yes would be great if they can attend to issues a larger percentage of users have with a specific product if most of it is about the same thing. Rest of the optic is good.
Are you saying that vortex and Arkin scopes with glass made in China 🇨🇳 are better than leupold scopes vari-x111 3-10 come on pal schott glass made in Austria and Germany way better.IMHO.😊
Hi@@willyprendergast4945never compared those to the LEUPOLD MARK 4HD 😉
