Born in 1947 and too young to understand why I so loved Dean Martin, especially being a young black woman (AKA Negro, colored at that time or African American or Black and Proud--whatever we were then). Today I understand why I love Dean Martin---#STILL.
Absolutely beautiful and nice man. I was fortunate to have met him in person on three separate occasions.
The last time I met him in a restaurant where he was sitting all alone, looking very bad, I went over and shook his hand and put my other hand on his, talked to him for five minutes all the while telling him what he meant to me and he never tried pulling
his hand back, showed no discomfort at all.

Two singers will be my favorites forever. I can not begin to compare the two they were both sensational, but if i had to, I would rank Dean Martin first and Elvis as number two. Elvis excites me, but Dean can excite me and soothe me as no other entertainer can do.

Cool, charming, sexy, funny and a hell of a voice. This guy was the whole package.
Dean Martin while living in Baltimore County Md was one of my favorite singers. He and Connie Francis music played at my grandparents home and by me. The late 60’s and early to mid 70’s before entering the military. I still today enjoy them so much I just love it. Even here in Tampa Bay Florida as well as when I was in the Baltimore area.
Growing up in a large Italian family in Ohio, guys like Dino, and Sinatra almost felt like extended family members. Their music was the soundtrack to our lives, and they were the heroes we looked up to! Dino was truly the greatest! He had a hit songs, huge box office movies, and a successful, long running tv show all at the same time!🤟🏼😎🇮🇹
I think were all wanting to have a huge Dean Martin revival everywhere. I know I sure do want one. He is so missed by so much of the world. I know people that wish they were him, and would want to be him right now !!!

Dean is greatest singer ever. Why???? Every word he sings from the heart and it shows through his facial movements and smiles reflects every word he sings. So cool and relaxed and shows the sincerity comes from his heart. His natural actions are linked to his song and expression that he enjoys every minute of his performance. As a result we see the greatest performer ever. Long may his shows continue to be shown, even now 2018. Yes, I am 84 and a Brit and now an ex musician. but I remember DINO from his records and films from 1952 onwards.
He is one of a kind. He brought so much pleasure to so many people with his singing and wit. He is really missed.
Dino goes beyond a singer. He is a full entertainer with talents in many areas!!

There will never ever be another performer like Dean Martin. He's the entire package: looks, charm, voice and style, sexy as all hell, kind, suave, laid back, no baggage, even tempered, etc etc. My heart's desire all wrapped up in one wonderful man. It was so sad that he had such unfortunate unhappiness befall him. At least he never got to see 2 more of his children pass on. It would have destroyed him completely. Sad that he was so addicted to cigarettes. It aged him so terribly fast and destroyed his body and took his life far too soon. Pitiful. What a wonderful man! 💕💋

It was around 1980. He was already divorced from that woman Sandy. Maybe I would have had a chance! He was sitting only a few feet away from my table but his back was to me! I was ready to give him my phone number! I've been kicking my own ass all these years! 😆

Ever since I was a kid my favorite singers have always been Dean Martin and Nat King Cole.
Nat King Cole was incredible. My favourite starting at 11 or so, was Ray Charles. I watched Dean's show though, always liked him but didn't fully appreciate him until I was older. My mother criticized him, and mothers have a heavy influence. She thought that he glamorized drinking too much. (My dad drank moderate-heavy) Which could be true, but Dean can't turn anyone into a drinker, it's all up to the person.
I wish Dean and Ray Charles had sung together. Ray and Flip Wilson were hilarious

An amazing performer from true Italian roots. Had a very hard and tough up-bringing he left behind in Steubenville, Ohio. He is so admired for his entertainment success by the Italian community but in many ways his personal life was quite tragic. May Dino rest in peace knowing his songs endure and he remains loved by the general public around the world.

I miss those days, in so many ways. I was blessed to hang out with the Rat Pack when I was around 3-5 years old; my Dad had been a stuntman for Frank, Cary Grant & Gary Cooper. He'd take me to Bings' place south of San Francisco, & I'd be allowed to run around. I was only tall enough to see knees in front of me...wait, there was also Sammys' tummy. (He had clothes on, that was just a way of talking about height.)
