I bet the winner was more impressed that he beat you, than he won. Nice run Dano

You rock Dane. This is just as much fun to watch as your extreme stuff. Maybe even more, because I don't have to worry about you :)

This is one of the most dangerous runnable rapids in the country

@@BobbySKeight What makes it dangerous? Looks like a class 4 run in the video.

@@petrhermanadventures9509 Dane makes everything look easy, but one thing that makes it dangerous is the old RR bed on river left, the highway on river right. Those required a lot of dynamite and made some constricted rapids with huge rocks w/ unnaturally sharp edges.
Of course Dane isn't gonna swim, but swims at even moderate levels can lead to flush drowning due to the continuity of some rapids, Jacob's Ladder flows right into Golf Course. That would be a horrific swim.
When it was 1st run it was considered one of the hardest big water runs out west. Now guys are running stuff that does make the NFk look a lot less dangerous. In an old Dancer or a T Canyon in the easily 90's it was a bfd, lol.

@@BobbySKeight I had a look at a video from a different perspective. Looks much bigger than Dane's POV, footage. Still I don't see anything particularly life threatening, definitely not a "you swim, you die" scenario.

@@big1dog23 Thanks for explaining. It's harder than anything I"ve paddled, but compared to Dane's usual fare, it didn't seem that bad.

The Payette River Valley is one of my favorites... Idaho is my happy place.

Right on man. Congrats. Just curious where in the race you think you could’ve made up some time. Looked pretty near perfect.

Around 50 seconds he got swallowed up and bogged down a little. That and maybe around 35-38 seconds when he got spun around, but that might have been on purpose.

Musta been tight between 1st and 2d? Just as well the local guy gets some glory. They must spend a ton of time putting it together.

It was super close. The winner had a faster slide off the ramp which basically was his gap the entire run
