  • (Oct. 9, 2021) In an incredible back-and-forth that included five knockdowns and countless exchanges, Tyson Fury retained his WBC Heavyweight World Title and lineal crown with an eleventh-round TKO win over former long-time champion Deontay Wilder in an ESPN+/FOX Sports pay-per-view live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The UK’s Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) scored three knockdowns in all, the final two in the eleventh frame, sending the raucous crowd of 15,820 into a frenzy.
Fury got off to a hot start in the first round, landing quick one-two’s while Wilder worked the jab to the body. A hard right toward the end of the round punctuated it for Fury, as did another in the second.
The action heated up in the third when a big Fury right sent Wilder tumbling to the canvas. The game slugger from Tuscaloosa, Alabama rose to his feet, surviving the follow-up until the bell rang moments later.
With Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) on unsteady legs in the fourth, Fury pounced, looking to finish him off. But just when it appeared that the fight was about to end, the “Bronze Bomber” uncorked a perfect short right followed by another, driving Fury to the mat.
Fury made it to his feet but was down again moments later when another Wilder flurry floored him. The bell rang seconds after he got up.
Wilder started strong in the fifth, blasting Fury with more rights. The “Gypsy King” maintained his composure, digging to the body in close quarters.
The inside work slowly wore Wilder down. He was dropped again in the tenth from another Fury right and then a third and final time in the eleventh via a crunching right cross. Referee Russell Mora mercifully rescued the brave warrior, ending the fight at 1:10 of the round.

Fury proved himself the better fighter, no doubt. But it didn't matter how much you were all in for Tyson Fury or for Deontay Wilder, when these three fights were over you loved and respected them both the same. That's how epic and unforgettable the Fury/Wilder trilogy is.

@@kiboma4209 I think wilders breakdown after the rematch was inevitable. He had a decent amateur career, and then an overly extended run knocking out lower class opposition. However when that freakish power started to work in title fights against better opposition it was clear he was both running his own corner, and camp, whilst totally intoxicated on his image as a phenom destroyer. The silence in wilders corner was eerie. It was like nobody had ever told wilder what to actually do in camp, so kept their mouths shut when things turned south. Being quiet when he was cleanly losing fights but not hurt is one thing. Being silent when cleanly losing and being beaten up is another. So wilder had a meltdown during and after the rematch. "this isn't supposed to happen. People can outbox me but they should always be fearful enough not to head on attack me?" If a fighter succumbs to a dream world, they end up waking up to a nightmare. I want wilder to retire. He's too old to change now, and far too rich to be motivated. He looked like he was on valium against Parker. A corner truly being in charge of events is very important. The second don king fired Samuel peters main corner from talking he was toast. Even wladimir was never ever the same without Emanuel steward.

Wilder was gassed out as from the 5th round, he was already wobbling and f*ked completely. Fury punished the guy in each round from the 5th to the 11th round consecutively. He was getting devastating jabs and right punches to the face for 7 rounds. Wilder won only the 3rd and the 4th round. First round was equal and 2nd round goes to Fury. Then the 5th to the 11th round, it was just punishment rounds onto Wilder. Fury is just levels higher than Wilder and this fight was just so obvious. No excuses at all here.

He knows how to do color commentary. That’s what he’s paid for. Andre looked and sounded like he had a hundred thousand on Wilder. I’ve never seen a guy at a table calling a fight look so bored or depressed at the walk-off moment of an epic title fight. Wilder has leaned into some racial rhetoric in the past. I wouldn’t be surprised if some people gravitated to that. For some reason it’s tolerated if it’s aimed at white dudes.

There are a lot of things to say, so, just to mention one: there's a mental aspect in which Fury was upon Wilder maybe from the very beginning, and that is the concentration and discipline of Fury, he's always _in_ the fight, always hunting, always hunting, he doesn't distract for a second, even when receiving punches or going to the floor, he's always in the look for another shot. Remembering Ali when talking about Foreman's fight: _this is no place to get tired_ , more or less. Great fighters, but Fury is a natural beast.

He REALLY did. He took a lot of heavy shots and refused to give up. The only regrets I have are the nasty comments from Wilder fans about cheating and some of the comments from Wilder himself. He let himself go with some stuff, he fought like a true champ and his performance in the ring showed he has the skills, spirit and courage to be a real champ. His words were nasty but I guess this is boxing and it happens.
It's hard to believe someone could have so much determination that they won't go down and remain a danger but thats exactly what Wilder did.

In opinion Tyson Fury won all three of these fights even though first one was a draw. Wilder only has one chance at winning and that’s by knockout he doesn’t have much of a skill set and he cannot take a punch. Tyson fury is not a big puncher and he knocked him out twice. Wilder kept fighting back and was able to push forward against a better fighter, proving once and for all he's a true champion with the heart of a lion. Fury just proved he's the complete package in the ring. Big, strong, quick and fast, heavy but very athletic, can move in every direction and box with clean fundamentals, and also punch in so many different ways. His jab and defensive abilities are elite, and also knows how to make it a dirty fight if he needs to. There’s no need to caudal him, like they are “shocked” at how he keeps coming back and keep complimenting him like a simp would compliment on a first date with a girl. Great hosts/broadcasters tho, Lewis, Ward and the play by play guy. A great fight of the ages. Historic Props to Fury and Wilder. Edit to say…it’s just that Fury is the baddest on the planet.

@@darrickriley6163here was no long count. You do realise Wilder interrupted it for a couple of seconds by leaving the neutral corner and approaching Fury when he was down. When that happens the count is paused until the ref has ordered the fighter back to the corner and the fighter is clearly walking back
Don't talk about this stuff when you don't know what you're talking about

    • @WardenOfTerra
      @WardenOfTerra 9 місяців тому

@@Boxing_Gamer - You don't understand boxing at all. Clinching is used to nullify an opponent from moving around, and you tire them out by making them carry your weight as they try to free themselves, which uses even more of their energy. Fury clinched the shit out of Wilder due to the fact Wilder hops onto his lead foot to generate the power that his straight right hand down the pipe generates. Fury would be an idiot to give Wilder space to lance his head off again like he did in their first fight. This shows Fury's fight IQ and his willingness to learn from his own mistakes. This means that he truly treats boxing like a martial art and discipline. Fury is the greatest heavyweight boxer to ever live.

Fight never gets old. As much as I don't like both fighter's characters at the time, they laid it on the line. Wilder gritty, stubborn with that powerful 1-2 right AND the will to stay up and take punishment. Fury, just too ring smart, his variety of punches, movement, evading punches, sneaky uppercuts, pressurising and will to win. Classic fight. Respect to both fighters 🤜🏾🤛
