    Generally, the Bucket style of rigging is used when a crew has it's heavier/stronger rowers only able to row on the same side, due to training. It may be quite easy to train a rower to row on the other side, but it also depend on how well they work together. A coach wants the more powerful/heavy people in the middle as it allows the bows to rise out of the water, therefore letting the boat run faster. This is from my experience in England, however it may be different in the USA

    At 10:31 does the announcer really pronounce the 'h' when he refers to the River Thames?

      +ted williamson In the US, Thames is pronounced as it's spelled.
