@@adamcrosby2640 Calling it now, the public demand will be so high that Square-Enix will make a DLC for Sephiroth alone. Now as for the original post, keep in mind that, while Sephiroth is 6'1" according to the original PSX instruction booklet, he has recently been stated to be about 6'7", so yeah, he could very well be in a wide stance under the water to stabilize himself while still towering over everyone else who can't touch the bottom of the river.
Tifa’s voice actor absolutely nails this. Just the fact she hesitates so much, you can feel herself wanting to say what’s wrong, but she’s just suffering in silence in a way. There are so many parts where even the grunts, THE FUCKING GRUNTS, are phenomenal. I’m so excited to see this all unfold
Sephiroth’s descent into madness was awesome. How Jenova kept calling out to him ever since he arrived and then kept him captivated in the basement those seven days and we get to see the moment she gets her hooks in and he fully changes….amazing.
What’s so great about how the Nibelheim Flashback is handled here is that if you have the context the rest of the story provides, it’s so obvious what’s going on under the surface, but if you’re experiencing it for the first time, you won’t pick up on any of it. It’s nearly perfectly executed.
Spoiler: This flashback solidifies that Jenova has been in control the entire time and Sephiroth has been dead since Nibelheim. There is absolutely no way, in the same way Cloud's affected by memories/flashbacks, anyone can deny that Jenova cells were overtaking Sephiroth by PROXIMITY.
@@codynoth4183I think she was telepathically talking to him & getting him to trip out, but if the OG game is anything to go off (which is 50/50) once he meets the lifestream, he starts using the power of the LS & Jenova for his plan
@@joellarsson9486 Precisely. I've been arguing for years now that in the OG game Sephiroth has been dead since the Nibelheim incident and Jenova has essentially doing what Jenova did since the time of ancients and uses his likeness and such to create more doubt and fear in Cloud to try and drive him insane to basically be its new "vessel" but it never happens.
@@Cloudyvisions2000 See above. Sephiroth has been dead since Nibelheim. Jenova has been making her move since her head was dunked into the lifestream and ended up at the Northern Crater.
Yeah it isn't quite the same as it was handled in CC. It's so amazingly better here, like no dumb Genesis to ruin everything. It's so natural and feels beleivable how he turns.
dont usually gush on games but the animation in sephiroth's eyes in the fire scene as he turns around almost like he's in a dream then sees and recognizes cloud, smiles, fades off again and turns back into the fire was great. whoever acted/animated that needs a raise
Yeah, I had that moment of 'Oh, there's the Sephiroth that we've been getting to know throughout this whole sequence. There's still a part of him in there somewhere.' Nailed it.
It's one of the most iconic gaming scenes ever since the OG game in 1997. It's kind of a meme at this point but yeah the square animators and art team are goated
Little detail that made me understand they care about those: in the flashback, Cloud uses the 'See ya' when he finishes the battle as a quote, which is the same one Aerith uses when defeating an enemy. Hinting at the fact that she learned it from someone, same as Cloud.
When hes on the ground in front of his house, there's a change no one is talking about. Yes, his gloves change too, but his vision also changes because of the helmet!
"So any friends you wanna see? Maybe a Girlfriend?" It's awesome how the security officer's voice changes between Cloud and Zack's voice. Earlier, his voice sounds like Cloud, but at this line, its more like Zack. Shows how Cloud is trying to keep the story straight but not give too much away.
Literally my only gripe with this demo was that the crawling towards Sephiroth was a bit too long and took me out of the moment where the guys with guns weren't doing anything, lol. But my God, I watched this on stream and I was blown away otherwise. I cannot wait for this game.
Yeah that was a minor gripe of mine as well, didn't really ruin my enjoyment of that moment but definitely one of those moments where you "see the man behind the curtain" type of deal. Just make the guys with guns actually act and be cut down despite the players crawling progress and that scene is better. Still great overall though.
Performance and that moment, it was goofy as hell, the limp was like a 5 frame animation on loop plus you have to crawl under things and clouds leg suddenly recovers until he stands upright again. It just doesn't feel as polished as Remake to me personally.
Yeah I didn't rememenber in the OG Cloud/ Z- being that helpess, like he can't dodge a falling tree or whatever then hurt is legs then is crawling ? Bro you're a super solider wake the f up, maybe it was intentionnal to make it feel more like a nightmare when you try to run but can't but it felt really slow and forced tbh, and te 4 villager just staring at Seph while he slowly kills them one by one just didn't make any sense, I guess they coudln't bother to animate Septhiroth blocking/dodging bullets ?
Same I actually noticed that too, but I did like how it was kind of forced like you could feel cloud struggle in the moment, but that was mainly the controller but I do know what you mean. It did kind of break the immersion for a little bit.
Amazing how many people didn't catch that. "Run Cloud...Run Away. You have to leave, you have to live.". This mother fucking Sephiroth on demon time repeating our mothers dying words!
I LOVE all the small touches the FF7 team have done, everyone in village saying how they didn’t recognize Cloud because in reality he’s wearing a Shinya uniform. The guy who is supposed to be Cloud sounds like Zack. How in reality Cloud is always just out of frame. The entire sequence is so amazingly well directed.
@@gmayers yes please I had a friend at work quickly spoil that it is not cloud in those scenes but I'm confused. When is he off-screen and when is he beside himself like people are saying in comments?
The Shinra guard who was motion sick, who stayed outside the reactor with Tifa, and was laying just outside Cloud’s house while the town was burning. That was actually Cloud.
7:43 I love all the subtle visual hints. Sephiroth talking to "Cloud" here, his stance is a bit off, even with turning back to chat. But if he's talking to the right trooper, it makes more sense to stand that way. Also how a lot of the shots where you see the trooper behind "Cloud" in the same frame, reacting with a similar expression.
Edit: So sorry should have placed this earlier folks; spolier context for anyone that has not played the original FF 7, or Crisis Core. The little details showing the hints man, the hint of blonde hair at the back of the helmet on the guard at the beginning, the guard protecting Tifa from the flying enemy, the way the guard is crawling towards the house and even about to say "Mom" too and the fact he vanishes once Cloud is on the ground! Having Cloud do all of Zacks mannerisms! It's just perfect!!
@JacienV Game isn't even fully out and it's my Game of the Year just from this demo section already 😅😂 It was also bugging where I had heard Zangans voice actor from as it sounded so very very familiar; but I am just off of my Platinum Playthrough of Persona 5 Royal not long ago so it makes total sense now. Since the same voice actor played Sojiro in that!
Not to mention, we go from Cloud unable to stand, crawling on the ground, with debris blocking him. Then immediately standing next to Sephiroth, unharmed.
@@SakuraAvalonIs this something i should know based on the Remake or is that something from the original? I only played the Remake and not the original and i would love to know what the hell you guys are talking about.

37:03 “I think you mean ‘business trips,’ which are…no fun at all.” Man, I’m such a dork. Hearing Sephiroth deliver even one line with everyday, mildly sarcastic humor and genuine “human” relatability single-handedly made me smile, and sad. A moment of actual simple banter, and mundane humanity…of being and feeling like everyone else…something he always wanted in his heart, but never felt he was, right before what’s to unfortunately come. He feared he was a monster, but even if he was born from different kinds of monsters (JENOVA and Hojo), he overcame that origin for awhile, a reluctant but true hero to the world, until he let that idea and mind-rending revelation unfortunately consume him he until he became a monster of his own creation. A heartbreaking shame he was never informed about, discovered, or got to meet (and had cruelly, sadly hidden from him) his ACTUAL “Mother”… the one that wasn’t out on display, but SELF choose self-exile from guilt to be put in forgotten suspension in Mako…the one (Lucrecia) that actually CARED enough about the child that she put through that and never truly met. She thought she was a monster for that unintentional act, unlike his other “parents.”How different things could have been. “Nature vs Nurture”…I wonder which would have won out? (Again…let me emphasize my emotional dorkiness…this is just…what many of us always dreamed of in our heads and wanted from a remake…) 😅😊
I thought the same exact thing! I loved his delivery of this line! They made Sephiroth really seem human in the flashback, which makes it feel so jarring when he turns.
The light-hearted banter about Sephiroth taking a backseat and not fighting early on, as well as him later teasing Cloud about his "performance review", does wonders to round off his character, making it more obvious why everyone is so impressed with him, besides just his combat prowess. Like Barret says: by all accounts, he really sounds like a stand-up guy!
Sephiroth, before the Nebelhiem incident, was a genuine good person to his fellow soldiers, troops and to the people. Makes one wonder why ShinRa would let Sephiroth go to Nebelhiem.
The music honestly makes this remake I swear. The variances of the character themes like the heroic good-guy Sephiroth theme....then the upbeat/party Tifa theme when she is chose as to guide them...the somber and foreboding Nibelheim theme that alludes to coming danger and tragedy. Incredible.
The quality and sheer amount are pretty mind-blowing, though to be honest it also feels referential for the sake of it a lot of the time. Like it's primarily meant to tug at nostalgia strings rather than really fit the scenes.
@@fernandozavaletabustos205 Dude I know - I can't even imagine some of the bangers in store for us - and the individual BATTLE THEMES of the various open areas
With context, I've always liked how you can sort of tell what Cloud really did at Nibelheim back then as 'Ramirez'. For instance, he likely did visit his mother though based on the way the dialogue was skipped, Cloud likely blocked out the memory of him telling her that he failed to join SOLDIER. Also, thanks to Machinabridged, I've also taken to calling disguised Cloud here as Ramirez.
The sound design they used for the Nibelheim incident was so good it almost felt like I was playing a horror game for a sec. Sephiroth feels like an emotionless killer after he learns about Jenova and the music does well to reflect that.
Soon as I heard the music, I busted out my 3-D headset and I wasn’t using it before but soon as I’ve heard that I’m like this is why you use these things
As a grown 33 year old dude that's been a FFVII fan since 97'' as a little 7 year old, I resonated well with Max's reaction at 36:16. I was literally the same way, just realizing that this is ACTUALLY happening.
Just wait until FF7: Washout Cascade comes out and tells the thrilling tale of Trooper 2's exciting misadventure. He eventually takes out the fearsome Turquoise Weapon.
The way they didnt show him dead dead made me think they've saved him for later for some reason. I also felt sephiroth could have tried a LITTLE harder to save him.
@@SnakeWorksStudio I 100% expect to see that guy in some form later on. He'll be a former Shinra grunt who recognizes Cloud, much like Kunzel (except Kunzel still works for Shinra).
1:50:57 What a cool shot. As if the flame comes out of Sephiroth's hand 1:35:07 Genesis crawling along the pipes waiting to jumpscare and quote some Loveless
It's interesting how Genesis was nowhere to be seen during this part (it would be extremely confusing for newcomers) but from the small part of the very spoilery trailer I saw, Cissnei is going to have a part in this game. So it seems like they are taking and implementing the best parts of crisis core to rebirth while leaving the bad stuff out. Ofcourse Genesis might still appear later in the game, but I'm glad the devs realized that Genesis being there to help with Sephiroth's decent to madness was gringy and straight up a bad addition.
@@tumei1851 yeah, I really want to believe that the devs get it that if they are to add any of the compilation stuff, it should either not interfere with any of the original or enhance it. Gackt being there (in that scene especially) on the contrary does nothing but reduces its impact and takes away from Sephiroth's drama. But I have nothing against Cissney though, if they find a good way to tie her into the story
@@tumei1851remind me, did Zack see the argument between Sephiroth and Genesis on Crisis Core? If neither Zack nor Cloud were witness to it, makes sense they wouldn't show it.
This scene here in Rebirth is actually cut off one line before Genesis shows up. After Sephiroth says “Am I even human?” it fades to black and Cloud skips to when they returned to Nibelheim. But in Crisis Core, it’s right after Sephiroth says that line, that Genesis shows up and says “No such luck.” So Genesis being here actually isn’t contradicted. If I had to wager why, it likely because 1. They don’t want to show Genesis yet, it would be too confusing right now 2. Cloud’s Jenova memory patches up things that don’t make sense to him, he would have no way of knowing that happened or understanding why it happened, so it just got skipped.
I wish Max would have talk to that first Shinra grunt twice. You could hear Zack’s voice when he talks the 2nd time when he wants to talk about his girlfriend(Aerith)
Yeah I exhausted all dialogue with him 😆 it's so cool what they've done and rip to anyone who played the crisis core remaster since they got spoiled on the best twist of the game.

I'm concerned they may have ruined it for newcomers with the guy literally saying "ma" outside the burning house, though. I get the peek of blonde hair, and the similar voice actor (apparently it's a different VA named Pierce Caleb, I've heard), but actually saying it? I mean...

@@robinlarin69 It would spoil the mystery of Clouds past as a Shinra soldier. Which is a primary twist in the original game. However, these Remake games mostly operate on the assumption you already know the original storyline and plays off of that. So they aren't being very careful guarding future story twists for newcomers. So it seems extra confusing knowing there's strong hints but not knowing what exactly for. It's a bit messy the way it's presented for newcomers. (I am a newcomer but looked into the original game story and played the Crisis Core Remaster which spoils it anyway) But I'd recommend pushing through and letting it reveal itself in the game.
what is awesome level-design wise is they clearly made the whole first chapter in such a way that you're encouraged to look around and search everywhere for stuff, they prepare the player for the rest of the game.

The expanded moveset they did for Cloud is so cool. I already loved combat in remake, so much that even did the solo Cloud vs Monsters of Legends and Weiss, and now we get so many options its crazy. And it feels so fluent, dodge, perfect block, cloud blinking around like a supersoldier he is.

It's the music.... When I was in highschool and college I would listen to the FFVII soundtrack as I lay in bed. The music got me through so much, and it hits so goddamn hard in this game. absolutely incredible demo.
I find it super terrifying when they do the subtle change of switching Cloud’s main subtitles to the Shinra grunt subtitles at the side when he calls his mother to show the truth about Cloud
I finished the demo last night and I loved it so much. The moonlight greatsword waves that cloud can shoot out at aerial enemies now looks so good and is dope. The piano playing, the music, I mean... This game is gonna be so amazingly good. I can tell it's gonna be much better than the first installment was.

1:58:43 Nice visual reference to the Terminator movies. Sephiroth's foot coming down on the Sherriff's hat reminds me of the beginning of T2, the cyborg's foot crushing a human skull. The way Sephiroth moves in this scene is very slow, deliberate and robot-like, much like how the Terminators move - a great way of demonstrating how he has become "more machine than man" (to quote another sci-fi series) and has lost his humanity.
It's so good. I know we got a few renditions in Remake but this version has this disquieting feel to it, literally like having anxiety about things. The whole soundtrack so far has been superb
Just rewatch the FF7 Podcast with Max in it on Easy Allies and Dropped Frame.. Every damn theories and prediction are on point. I'm losing my sh*t over this

When arriving in town, if you talk to the Shinra guard on the right twice, the "true" dialogue is still true, just flipped. The Shinra guard even talks about his girlfriend "Aerith", without saying her name of course.
Love the Ruby weapon poster in nidhogg inn behind the front desk. Also, the kids in the house who repeat the same phrases is a great call back to og. 'Shinra.... Chinra' 😂
I love how the four people holding Sephiroth at gun point toward the end think they have ANY chance of beating this guy. At first I was like "why aren't they shooting him?" And then I realized "Oh, it's a bluff. They know they'd die in an instant if they tried.😦"

I think really what stood out to me, personally was when Tifa said that the mayor was acting funny after sephiroth and cloud looked at her funny. That stood out to me more. Looking at the trailer it’s probably just the Jenova cells fucking with cloud so he gets paranoid
@@johncarolina4950this is true. You dont outright expose someone like that and also Cloud doesn’t have a reason to be lying so Tifa was doubting her own memory too and went along with it. All these characters over time, including Cloud, will develop as seen in advent children. That was a really great movie even if nobody agrees.

My god, this was so good. I'm gonna play many times. Only two things that bother me is that the Mayor & guys approached Sephiroth & didn't shoot at him even once. Just stood there. That was so dumb. lmao And I wish there was the creezy secret stairwell to mansion's basement. Other than that, this was so damn perfect. Had me tearing up a few times!
They could be paralyzed by fear? They bluffed because they knew they’d be dead in a second of they fired a bullet? It could’ve happened really fast, but it seemed like an eternity from Cloud’s POV because he was helpless to stop it? So many ways to interpret this scene, yet you chose to take it at face value. Have some imagination, dude. The writers and directors don’t need to hold your hand all the time.
The stairwell could still be there since the other half of the mansion was closed off where the stairs is. Also, I can forgive them being in initial shock, but after Sephiroth killed the first guy they should have unloaded lol
@@Davethawave1999 watch the scene again carefully especially killing the Mayor part. Sephiroth was intentionally waiting for them to make a move so much as a twitch before cutting them down. This demo was insane. I never expected to see so much of the Nibelheim flashback. The build-up, the music, the background characters, the visuals… they did such a perfect job on this. My mouth was on the floor the entire time. Can’t wait for the 29th.
Did anyone else notice the single little Shinra toy soldier that Tifa has on her shelf in her bedroom? It's right above the pink hat and between the two white cups. I wonder if she kept that because it reminded her of Cloud when he went off to become a soldier. If that was the idea behind putting that there, that seems like a really awesome little nod to the notion that she was proud of his decision to join soldier and was thinking of him. I had to pause and wipe away tears…only to resume to Max crying and starting all over again. What an incredible story and IP that Square created with all of this from the OG to the reimagining. ❤
Him tearing up has nothing to do with the video game story or characters. He's a healthy grown man not some mentally ill weirdo who think of these cartoons as real people. He's tearing up because he remembers himself playing this as a child. And thinking how he's playing the same game after 20 years for a living. He's thinking how great his life is financially with his wife, baby girl and 3 best friends and how it all started because of his love for these type of games like FF7.

Man, I’m such a dork.

But in Crisis Core, it’s right after Sephiroth says that line, that Genesis shows up and says “No such luck.”
So Genesis being here actually isn’t contradicted. If I had to wager why, it likely because
1. They don’t want to show Genesis yet, it would be too confusing right now
2. Cloud’s Jenova memory patches up things that don’t make sense to him, he would have no way of knowing that happened or understanding why it happened, so it just got skipped.

It's the music.... When I was in highschool and college I would listen to the FFVII soundtrack as I lay in bed. The music got me through so much, and it hits so goddamn hard in this game. absolutely incredible demo.
I can't wait to explore the rest of the game.
Those locked doors in the Shinra Mansion need to be unlocked ASAP!
That happens way later in the game tho... IIRC
@@bacardim390 I know. And I know whats behind these doors and thats why I want to open them.^^
Someone holding Cerberus is in there
Lost Number
I had to try Vincent's door, I knew it'd be locked but I had to try.
It looks like they actually used Cloud's model for the Shinra soldier.
Seeing Seph just poke a dude lying on the ground with the Muramasa and kill him Is TERRIFYING. It's so sinister how effortlessly he does it.
I love the touch that in Remake when wewalk throughthe hallucination in the alley it totally mirrors the ending walk through the village sequence
Ya they nailed it.. run, cloud. Run away..
having now played rebirth, sephiroth quoting cloud’s mom’s last words to him goes so damn hard in remake ch2
I'm surprised Max didn't notice the make a splash poster in tifa's room is Zell from FF8 doing the dolphin blow limit break
Great spot! I missed that too
I knew I recognised that hair! I spent like 5 minutes trying to think of a character!
Behind the counter at the hotel it shows Ruby Red Ruby WEAPON
Max only nuts his pants over ff7 he doesnt like any other rpg
You know I didn't notice that nice one. I think ruby is going to be visible on the world map the poster mentions it as some kind of geological feature in corel. WOW now that's random wonder if ruby is going to be a boss in rebirth then or they're just teasing.
36:20 I felt the same way as him….
That music with the landscapes and the credits makes this entire moment insane!
Same
finishing the demo today brought me to my teenage years in i think 1996, a friend of mine that knew i loved videogames(and he was rich), search me and gave me his PS1 and the ff7 demo disc because he knew would blow my mind, and yes, i played the demo like 20 times, i could not believe the intro cinematic and the music, it always had a special place in my heart, who would think there would be another great demo almost 30 years later.
Were making it out of Nibelheim with this one... HOOD CLASSIC
Fitting since the game came out in the 90s.
Those fools didn't even fire one shot before they die lol.
@@JimmyDoyel-by2cp To be fair, it's *Sephiroth* . What the hell are bullets gonna do to *him?* lmao
@@JimmyDoyel-by2cp Too busy sh*tting themselves.
Nice comparison
This theme "anxiety" is just the personification of the word!
It's so good. I know we got a few renditions in Remake but this version has this disquieting feel to it, literally like having anxiety about things. The whole soundtrack so far has been superb
The part with Cloud going to save his mother and the security guard on the ground was soooooo fucking chef's kiss!!!
Just rewatch the FF7 Podcast with Max in it on Easy Allies and Dropped Frame..
Every damn theories and prediction are on point. I'm losing my sh*t over this
yeah!
Not quite the "cold open" he desired, but pretty damn close!
“FFVII Rebirth director Hamaguchi says that after unlocking Chapter Selection, players can replay chapters without Cloud in their team, allowing them to control other characters as the lead party member.” I ve just found this out, nice!!!!
Neat. But that means… oh no.
Hold on you mean after you beat the game you get chapter selection yeah that’s usually how it works. OK so you get to choose different different characters. OK cool
@@JacienVwait what does that mean
Source?
I'd love a source for this. This sounds so cool.
When arriving in town, if you talk to the Shinra guard on the right twice, the "true" dialogue is still true, just flipped. The Shinra guard even talks about his girlfriend "Aerith", without saying her name of course.
hi do you have video of that bc i was searching and nobody talked to him twice
@baejoohyunrv6043 unfortunately I do not, I got it in my own playthrough
Love the Ruby weapon poster in nidhogg inn behind the front desk.
Also, the kids in the house who repeat the same phrases is a great call back to og. 'Shinra.... Chinra' 😂
I love how the four people holding Sephiroth at gun point toward the end think they have ANY chance of beating this guy. At first I was like "why aren't they shooting him?" And then I realized "Oh, it's a bluff. They know they'd die in an instant if they tried.😦"
I like to interpret it as they were paralyzed from fear
Also, it probably happened in seconds really. But for Cloud, that was helplessly watching it happen, it looked like an eternity.
@@lorencelaflair4306 Yeah it reminds me of a hunter friend of my in-laws, one time he had a boar charge at him and was freezed with fear despite having his rifle. Luckily he managed to overcome it just in time before the boar could gore him but trigger panick is real.
It's just a poorly paced scene@@lorencelaflair4306
Broooo even tifa's dialogues while cloud is talking about his recollection of the nibel incident. Like, tida deadass knows it didnt went down exactly like cloud says abd thats what got me big time. Ofourse cloud acting like zack got me in the heart big time.
This is why I have always maintained a hard stance of not liking Tifa as wife material for Cloud. Hell if I were Cloud I wouldn't even want her as a friend. If you can't tell me uncomfortable truths and only ever feed me comforting lies then I don't want nor need you in my life.
@@projectomnia1997You'd want to be exposed as a liar and total weirdo in front of friends you just met and are relying on?
@@johncarolina4950 I have been this way since I was young, I'd rather be hurt with truth than lied to. ALWAYS.
Although she knows something is wrong with Cloud. No one in the party had a normal life and they dont all make the right decisions all the time. All these characters over time, including Cloud, will develop as seen in advent children. That was a really great movie even if nobody agrees.
"My mouth hurts from smiling." That is the definition of the demo, imo. I was playing it and beaming and giddy the whole time. Every turn had me like "Oooh this is that place. That's this place." or just blown away in general. I was like "There's a whole game in here" 10 minutes in lol.
I love how almost every dialogue towards Cloud in this intro sequence is along the lines of “Cloud is that you?” and “Is that Cloud?!” - I’d love to know how the twist hits for people playing Remake as their introduction into FF7!
I never played ff7 but I played crisis’ core and I figured it out something’s up for sure 😭
Remake was my into a few months back, played rebirth right after then played OG and crisis core, now played remake a second time and just started rebirth again. I’m gonna tel you the twist was EPPICC! And experiencing the games again you pick up so much more
thanks for posting this so that we can live vicariously through you for a moment
40:20 Sephiroth wingmaning for Cloud is something thought I never see.
Haha...you lack critical information
Well you still have never seen it then
I love how Nibelheim just has an eerie feel to it all over it
The townsfolk gushing over Sephiroth in the beginning, genuinely concerned for him when he cooped up in the Shinra Manor…not knowing what comes next
FINALLY WE GET EXTENDED VILLAIN SEPHIROTH SEQUENCES I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!
My god, this was so good. I'm gonna play many times. Only two things that bother me is that the Mayor & guys approached Sephiroth & didn't shoot at him even once. Just stood there. That was so dumb. lmao
And I wish there was the creezy secret stairwell to mansion's basement. Other than that, this was so damn perfect. Had me tearing up a few times!
Paralyzed from Fear is a thing you know
They could be paralyzed by fear? They bluffed because they knew they’d be dead in a second of they fired a bullet? It could’ve happened really fast, but it seemed like an eternity from Cloud’s POV because he was helpless to stop it?
So many ways to interpret this scene, yet you chose to take it at face value. Have some imagination, dude. The writers and directors don’t need to hold your hand all the time.
The stairwell could still be there since the other half of the mansion was closed off where the stairs is. Also, I can forgive them being in initial shock, but after Sephiroth killed the first guy they should have unloaded lol
@@Miha-ii3dy You're being an asshole just to justify poor writing lol The demo was great but that one scene was kinda stupid.
@@Davethawave1999 watch the scene again carefully especially killing the Mayor part.
Sephiroth was intentionally waiting for them to make a move so much as a twitch before cutting them down. The mayor twitches and he gets a cut to the knee instantly plus they were also in shock and paralysed from fear.
There is nothing wrong with this scene.
I love these little details that can be so easy to overlook.
“Hells gate, descend from above and impale an enemy”
Aerith : 👀
AAAAHHHHHH FUUUUUUUUCK
When Max tears up multiple times through the demo of a game you know it’s about to be a 11/10 experience. Can’t wait for this shit 🙌🏼. Nothing compares to a top tier game about to release. Last game I was this excited for was maybe Elden Ring. This year we get FF7 Rebirth and Black Myth Wukong.

"He's in fate's hands now."
I found that line interesting with how much the first game focused on fate.
The song playing in Nibelheim give me chills every time, it's so dark and tense, I love it!
Dooood they gave **so much** personality to Sephiroth. It's insane. He's an actual person in these early memories lmao
Sephiroth's change in voice when Cloud returns to the basement is CHILLING.

i love how when you get a good streak goin on piano cloud just starts going full beethoven mode on that shit
I got an A rating after a few tries, which is embarrassing as I'm an actual pianist who has played for 30 years, and I found that minigame difficult to master. I guess playing on a keyboard isn't quite the same as playing on a PS5 controller!
@@jamesgravil9162 I've never touched a piano in my life and I got a Perfect in 2 tries. However, I've recently purchased a keyboard because it's always been one of my dreams to be able to play piano. @@JaredLetoSelfSuck I believe there are five or six octaves (a real piano has seven.) You can play major and minor chords in the left hand, but you can't play semitones. I tried to play the Happy Birthday song in C major, but got stumped when I realised I couldn't hit B flat. 😞Still, it's quite impressive what you can do, considering this is just a minigame that is more an Easter Egg than anything.
I love how the elevators in the Mt Nibel reactor look like the elevators in the reactor in OG FF7
Yup!
The little details when it comes to Tifa's house amazed me. First if you listen to the two women outside of Tifa's house, they recognize you and tell you Tifa isn't home, which changes the dialogue when you enter the house. Second, the dialogue you get with either option of going through her stuff is amazing. The poster next the piano, the silhouetted figure is Zell from FF8. I didn't find any OG FF7 pictures, I was just in love immediately with this tiny part of the demo. This game is gonna be special if the rest has this kind of care and detail in it.

That theme playing as the credits appear running towards Mt. Nibel . . . I about lost my mind - Nostalgia is a hell of a drug man XD
Love your enthusiasm bro! You're bringing out the little kid inside me too. So stoked for this!
A super small detail that had me smiling ear to ear was in Tifa’s Room, there’s a poster next to the Piano that says “Make a Splash on your Vacation!” The silhouette is doing Dolphin Blow. The silhouette… is Zell Dincht, from Final Fantasy 8. Words couldn’t describe my joy.
“Embrace your dreams.”
