The Jenova theme is one of those themes that doesn't have a bad version, every one I've heard from genre remixes to official rearrangements, I can't help put pick it apart and listen to every little intricacy. It's that good
The strange thing is, the official soundtrack doesn't include that transition from Aerith's theme to Jenova's theme. It has one track for the Aerith part and then the Jenova Lifeclinger track kind of starts from Phase 2 of that fight when the guitar kicks in.
Oh God.. I’d give you 100 likes if I could. Thank you for this! I was also awe struck with sensation overload when playing the game. Now I can truly appreciate the soundtrack thanks to your videos!

You're not "just going on a hike"... You're playing one of the best damn games of all time---and the soundtrack is happy to remind you! Something about mountains being places of transcendence seems to write a warrant for something a bit more. I like the way it echoes the main theme without just outright quoting it. The South Corel region theme has a similar thing going on. Neither song credits Uematsu, but there are big main theme vibes present. Very skilled stuff. Final Fantasy 10's Thunder Plains theme is a great example of music that very intentionally goes against the dreary setting--almost inviting you to think of a dark, thunder-lit sky as something beautiful and reassuring in some way. That one's by Masashi Hamauzu, whereas the Mt. Corel tracks are Mitsuto Suzuki--two composers who seem to be closely-linked partners going back some years. I think Mitsuto really made his big debut with 13-2, and he's got some real bangers on that one. He also did the Collapsed Expressway in 7Remake.
My favourite, that i cant find anywhere, is that short song that plays when Cloud approaches Aerith's body, touches her face tenderly and says 'Aerith, wake up'.

No wonder the song sounds so coordinated yet all over the place. But that’s what makes is so dynamic & fun to listen to. Probably my favorite boss theme in the entire game! Palmer’s is like a close second!
0:50 Feels like a goodbye music indeed… until she appears as a ghost throughout the rest of the game and you even fight alongside her. For me, the nostalgia broke right there.
There's a fan orchestra in Montreal called the OJV, they made a symphony in 2022 with four 15min movements going through the og FF7 story, they played in a church with a choir and light show, it was absolutely incredible and they also weaved in Jenova's theme throughout the symphony. The videos are up on youtube I highly recommend them!
At 1:45:20 you can hear a distorted voice say something like "Unto the stones of history", and it was also heard in roche's 2nd battle theme. Is this a soundbyte from his twitch chat or is this actually in the game and occurs in multiple themes? cause that would be something worth paying attention to
I had the same reaction when I heard the Palmer fight and Gus’s battle theme. I could not stop gushing about this ost the whole time I played. Best video game ost of all time.
One thing to also consider is by the end of the final jenova fight we have moved from choir and orchestra which is very humanlike to weird alien synth as jenova becomes more monstrous
Best game in a while. Music is beyond this world. This vid was such a treat Edit: I still remember when Max once said something along the lines of that it almost seems like when Uematsu and Nomura approached other musicians for the most regular and basic filler tunes to be created they told everyone of them that it would be the most important song in the game ,so every musician made their best music ever possible. I think that explains the quality of this game music perfectly
It has a picture of Cloud with the Primal looking sword I believe, it’s from months and months ago, he might have it under a Rebirth list or something???
Galian Beast has an uncanny amount of Sephiroth tones in it; it's very eerie and so well done. I wonder it's meant to evoke the 'link' Vincent is referring to, or that there is something else sinister about their connection (like the old theory of Vincent having Jenova cells).
Theory? Shit I thought it was canon Vincent was an unwilling Soldier prototype from the turks with unstable genetics due to the jenova cells from the gast period of fuck around and find out 0_o so they made him the doctors lab guard dog
Anuran Suppressor was such a surprise, my god. It is playing too quiet during fight. When I was going through OST this track left me with dropped jaw, I haven't remembered it back then. Mt Corel ascent is unconventional, but it has insane amount of positivity and I love it. Theme from bandits battle is just nuts, it was actually hearable, pure madness, but it lacked something, only beginning is good. And Gi village, I adore this moment in the end where we can hear woman's humming, it gives me an otherwordly feeling. People don't talk about this track enough. I don't want to write a book here, this OST is beyond everything.
11:50 How tf did I not notice that the magic aura of clouds blade forms the shape of the Buster sword when it impacts JENOVA regardless of what blade you have?!
Thank you for preserving this. This was one of my favorite streams of his which would never get uploaded on youtube for obvious reasons.

Is this a soundbyte from his twitch chat or is this actually in the game and occurs in multiple themes? cause that would be something worth paying attention to
Epic video Max . Love sharing your passion
The chat seeing THE KING and going nuts. You love to see it.
I swear, the Gus funk is straight up the best song in the game...
CHILL, DUDE!
I want to go to a Rebirth Concert even more now!!!
I am going on November 8n Orlando. I can't wait!
@@dachelmiqueli Nice! Have fun for both of us. haha.
Going to London one at Royal Albert Hall!! SEPT 29TH
@@Smallville619same it will be so cool
@@Smallville619 Thanks for the info on that! I just bought tickets for it. I think it's Sep 28th fyi, unless there are multiple. Thanks again.
One of the best games ever and one of the best OST ever, hands down. It's just too good and I love seeing Max's love and reactions too it
This is making me hyped for the live FF7 Rebirth concert I am going to see in October!
I had the same reaction when I heard the Palmer fight and Gus’s battle theme. I could not stop gushing about this ost the whole time I played. Best video game ost of all time.
My fav vods this year lol ive watched it atleast 7 times...i just love the Alex matching The creepy theme at the end to Jenova
The Red XIII Queens Blood track and Max’s reaction to it makes me feel so happy 😀
nearly 3 hours of max listening and commenting on FF7 rebirth sountrack?????? COUNT ME IN!!!!!
One thing to also consider is by the end of the final jenova fight we have moved from choir and orchestra which is very humanlike to weird alien synth as jenova becomes more monstrous
Man, Demon Gate's Theme is so good.
All of the Jenovas themes including the original and advent children have been god tier music. Favourite tracks in final fantasy
Thanks for uploading this, loving every second of it!
Best game in a while. Music is beyond this world. This vid was such a treat
Edit: I still remember when Max once said something along the lines of that it almost seems like when Uematsu and Nomura approached other musicians for the most regular and basic filler tunes to be created they told everyone of them that it would be the most important song in the game ,so every musician made their best music ever possible.
I think that explains the quality of this game music perfectly
WHICH TWITCH VOD IS THIS PLEASE? I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ITS ORIGINAL FULL VERSION.
It has a picture of Cloud with the Primal looking sword I believe, it’s from months and months ago, he might have it under a Rebirth list or something???
@@TooncesthecatwhodrivesYou are right, it’s from 7 months ago and it’s “CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT Rebirth.”
@@cam520i Cool! Glad you commented and helped out! I just couldn’t remember the name of the VOD.😂😅
YES! I have been waiting for this one. I have watched the VOD around 25 times at this point and it's getting increasingly difficult to find on Twitch.
Thanks for the Video :D i wanted to relive that stream! Thanks for all the hard work reuploading stuff
Appreciate the upload. What a soundtrack.
Was awesome seeing this live with everyone losing their minds over how above and beyond they went with the music again
Nobou and the team cooked so hard with this games music my ears are just in pure bliss constantly with this soundtrack 🙌
Best soundtrack ever, variety and quality. 🔥
You know the devs gotta be pandering to Max specifically when they make Palmer's hook sounds suspiciously like Glacius's theme in KI
42:18 I can’t believe I didn’t notice the classic Final Fantasy battle baseline here when I first played it. That’s too good
This has to be the best gaming soundtrack of all time
Jenova lifeclinger and many other soundtracks are incredible, made me genuinely smile, laugh, get hyped and or cry. Game is incredible. 🌌
6:03 actually gave me goosebumps. That sht is CHILLING bro, this games fcking insane
It's so bone chiing, almost like Aeriths dying breath and then Jenova is just like "Enough, you're done, fuck outta here"
Yuffie with a dress sphere adds to the ffx/ffx-2 correlations, which is pretty awesome
Absolutely gorgeous music. Just wow!
The singing in the Jenova Emergent theme reminds me of the theme from Farscape.
11:50
How tf did I not notice that the magic aura of clouds blade forms the shape of the Buster sword when it impacts JENOVA regardless of what blade you have?!
wow that’s sick!!
I listened to this the day after he did it, good
stuff lol
Going to the Orchestra symphony cannot wait for my ears to be blessed
Was the same sold my tickets to the rotterdam oen this weekend as I can't go hope it was a blast?!
Just picked up 2 tickets to the Rebirth concert on Dec 13... THIS IS GONNA BE EPIC
I sold mines for the one in rotterdam was meant to go this weekend. Gutted :( Hope you have an amazing time!
Thanks for the upload. I wanted to go back to listen/watching again but too much time passed.
1:09:00 "We've been in this room for 17 minutes" XD
holy shit thank you for this!
