- Germinating and growing time-lapse of a palm tree from a seed to a young plant. The pit was extracted from a dried date. It was then wrapped into a moist paper towel to germinate. After 20 days, the seed was sprouted. We sowed it into a pot with soil. The plant developed its first leave and slowly grew to a young palm tree.

I think it varies by region, if you live somewhere tropical where it's warm all year round then you can probably plant tropical seeds like palm trees whenever you want.
If you live somewhere where it gets cold in winter and the seed doesn't need cold stratification then it's usually good to plant after the last frost.
If you want to know what can grow in your region, search for "hardiness zone" of your region and for the plant to see if it can tolerate your climate.
