To answer Harvey's question...yes, I do believe landlords look for any excuse to hold on to the deposit. I think it's really hard for most ppl to hand money over once it is in their pocket. I know that they're supposed to put the money into an escrow account, but most independent landlords don't. As far as larger, management companies...I also believe they hold on to ppl's deposits bc they can. Most ppl don't want to fight a management company bc they have attorneys & so they just walk away. The management companies know this so they take advantage of it & will charge for everything they can get away with. We moved into an apartment once that was owned by some big company & they wrote down on the pre--walkthrough that there was all brand-new appliances....& they did appear new. After a couple of weeks I started noticing that there was hundreds of tiny little scratches on the washer/dryer, stove, etc. Basically, they had oiled everything & made them look shiny & new. I took pictures & brought them in & made them take that off of their records. I wasn't about to let them claim I destroyed brand-new appliances & have them deduct that from my deposit. And they probably don't even buy new one...just oil them up & try & stick it to the next renter.
We are landlords and if a tenant leaves our rentals in good condition, other than normal wear and tear, I’ll gladly give them the deposit back. But if there is damage that is not wear and tear, I’ll adjust the deposit to cover the damages. If they have exceeded their deposit and they refuse to pay for damages they caused, I’ll take them to court in a heartbeat. We’re fair with our tenants. When we were building our house we had to rent. Upon leaving and after our walk through, we got our entire deposit back and our landlords told us that if we ever needed to rent again, they would definitely rent to us. While renting we trimmed the trees, bushes, roses, fertilized the grass, mowed the lawns, trimmed along the sidewalk and driveway. We treated that house like it was our own.
Everybody gives an honest answer to Harvey's questions, but he is so hell-bent on generalizing the entire world. That does not make sense. I thought courts are all about honest and facts specific to each case.
I thought the same thing but then I realized it must be tough to try to do that in the 3.4 seconds they give him to ask the street spectators the questions. Even when he dumbs it down, some of the responses the people give is truly amazing.
Judge Milian, we are going to miss seeing you and learning from you. 😢 But, all good things must come to an end. I wish you success on all your future endeavors! I hope we will still see more of you! I will be keeping an eye out! Hopefully, we hear soon that you will be on a new show! 💐
I literally watch everyday and have been was PC since I was young. So disappointed they aren't doing the show anymore, don't know what I will watch now :(
I have a feeling that hulu or another channel of that type will pick up where this show ends. Perhaps a spin off with Judge John, as so many have requested? Judge Milian is too big a draw to just drop. The cases on this type of show may get repetitive, but Judge Milian is always refreshing and entertaining.
He not suing him because he doesn’t want the guy to lose his job doesn’t mean he is or he thinks he’s a great guy or that he’s in love with him. In what world do the do relate??? JM is so extra sometimes
FYI, a lawsuit has no barring on a person's security clearance unless it's over a certain amount and the person did not report the new high debt amount.
Things got really nasty between these two litigants when it didn't need to, but Milian's attitude was just as nasty if not nastier. I won't miss her when she's gone.
Watch for the exact same reason that the rest of you watch. But the difference with me is that I tell the truth about Milian and how she acts just as much as I do the litigants whereas many of you will lie or turn a blind eye.
I’m going to miss this show so much .! Been watching since I was 5 😭 I wish they would release all her seasons so I could just binge.!
