It’s terrible that someone wouldn’t do that. The house has since sold and the person is aware of what they are buying.

I will never understand why people buy town houses and condos. U have to pay fees and they can tell u what to do and so on it makes no sense. Buy a house and make sure to get an inspection first.
Why do people keep bringing up inspections? Inspections on a condo are only going to uncover potential issues within an individual unit. Houses are Ike cars ; once you pay for them, your stuck with it ... asis. Any issues before buying , not after. The seller may not know about something , or may claim so, or even disappear after. Also good advice most people give, is to make sure you have a lawyer for the closing. Fumigating is not the long term solution for termites ; new ones will come back. You have to have a underground barrier around the house.
He knew how morally he was wrong and likr the judge said he did not tell her because he wanted his place to sell and did not want to sell it at a reduce price what goes around comes around
If she had a realtor, s/he would have insisted on a professional termite inspection. Like the Orkin Co representative testified, the rest of the building would have been taken into consideration. Issues like this are extremely common; same for fireplaces / chimneys that don't get inspected. The seller must have a miserable life to be so greedy.
The guy is smarmy. He saved his sorry ass from a special assessment and a massive amount of inconvenience. He knowingly passed this nightmare on to the buyer. What he did should be illegal. That termite form needs to be updated ASAP to include all units that share a roof, foundation, or crawl space. The whole purpose of having the form is to avoid this exact situation. I'm glad the judge told him to shut the hell up.
Make sure the property inspector you hire checks for WDO and perhaps you can get a certificate that there are nane at the time of inspection. I think both FSBOs and real estate salespeople must disclose if anyone died in the house, et al.
If I’m ever a defendant on court TV and I win, I’m going to immediately ask where the camera is, then look directly into it and say to all the youth “You can do anything in life if you want to. Always believe and you’ll be what you want to be.” Then I’ll walk my ass off.
I have now watched enough of these episodes to where I can sincerely say that this judge always begins with leaning towards the plaintiff.. Even when they lose which this is a perfect example of she feels bad for them..

She literally walked you through why he didn’t lie, so no, none of what you said is true. Thanks for being today’s contestant on I Think Google Makes Me a Lawyer! - An Actual Lawyer
She should've had a home and termite inspection done especially in Florida before she bought the place. Spending 3 or 4 hundred dollars could save you thousands. I've looked at several houses in Arizona and the one that I thought about buying I had the home and termite inspection. One of the places the home inspector looked at found there was no access point to the attic and it had been covered up by the owner so he could inspect the heating and cooling trunks. The owner said that everything was in order and by him saying so that was good enough, he tried to sue the inspector but lost in court.
The verdict in this case surprises me because on the sellers disclosure it was asking whether there were termites on the property. Since that particular unit is connected then when it’s asking if any termites are on the property that should pertain to the knowledge of termites in any of the connected units. Therefore, this would make the seller liable for the damages. I disagree with the judge in this case.
If there was no damage/evidence in the condo (as they both states) a home inspector wouldn't have seen it either. A home inspector can't inspect the other condos, and is limited to certain common spaces depending on the state.

Fumigating is not the long term solution for termites ; new ones will come back. You have to have a underground barrier around the house.
The defendant is a smug sob
God bless everyone on here❤
You also!
I’ll come back for the comments ☕️
Same here lol

This me & im literally drinking coffee.

@@mcmong02 , you write the same comment under every PC video. You never comment on the actual video. Very strange person 🤔🤔
What a creepy man. Makes my skin crawl. Apparently soulless.
Agree! 💯%‼️
Karma just around the corner for him.
He will reincarnate as a cockroach in his next life
He knew how morally he was wrong and likr the judge said he did not tell her because he wanted his place to sell and did not want to sell it at a reduce price what goes around comes around
WHY is the Judge continually screaming over the Plaintiff !!!
A smart buyer has a termite inspection. She saved 50 dollars and had to spend 1,900. The defendant is not a decent person.
We did three inspections on our home before purchase. The standard, termite & roof.
@@katiemilady4232 , the cheap becomes expensive.
@@manthony777 Asi! That's why we preferred to know ahead. 👍👍
In Canada he would be held responsible
That’s the price for living in a townhouse where units share common structures. If one unit has termites then the whole row will need to be treated.
He’s awful. No remorse at all wow
Don't buy property with HOA'S!
I would rather live in the jungle with giant spiders than a homeowner's associated home.
Same!
Slimy defendant.
No good deed goes unpunished
Ew crook! Slimey dude. Poor lady out $1900. He was smiling the whole time like a petulant child. Nasty gross
Make sure the property inspector you hire checks for WDO and perhaps you can get a certificate that there are nane at the time of inspection. I think both FSBOs and real estate salespeople must disclose if anyone died in the house, et al.
Home inspection, and appraisal. Throw punch!
If I’m ever a defendant on court TV and I win, I’m going to immediately ask where the camera is, then look directly into it and say to all the youth “You can do anything in life if you want to. Always believe and you’ll be what you want to be.” Then I’ll walk my ass off.
The cameras are just above judges head.
He lost work for a day and wants $700 after being a sleeze-ball. Shameless.
Whew after this I feel better for a $200 inspection
I have now watched enough of these episodes to where I can sincerely say that this judge always begins with leaning towards the plaintiff.. Even when they lose which this is a perfect example of she feels bad for them..
Well, next time someone will play by the rules and he will get the short end of the stick
Is it me or does dude 3:16 sitting behind plaintiff behind the girl in the red top look like Michael Myers?!
Defendant looks like a young spanish Mike Nesmith. 😂
It’s literally,LITERALLY $1k MAX to get an inspection. It can save you thousands In the end. You can get a price decrease because you have to fixABC. Idk what’s wrong with people. Spend that money. It’s not even a lot .
He withheld the information and LIED in his sworn statement claiming he had never heard of the termites. She has proof that he knew. Therefore he is in the wrong. Lying on a sworn statement or lying under oath is a crime
She literally walked you through why he didn’t lie, so no, none of what you said is true. Thanks for being today’s contestant on I Think Google Makes Me a Lawyer! - An Actual Lawyer
Hahahahaha…she’s got way bigger problems than that. Wait till they crawl across your breakfast plate.
I thought Seller’s Disclosure of termites would be legally required prior to purchase.
She bought it in Sept. of 2019...the termites were the least of her problems not too long after that, I bet! (eviction moratoriums)
She should have had a pre-purchase inspection. Just like a car.
Defendant knew she would't buy the place if she knew about the termites, so he kept mum, a real scoundrel
Being snarky again. but always is
If there was no damage/evidence in the condo (as they both states) a home inspector wouldn't have seen it either. A home inspector can't inspect the other condos, and is limited to certain common spaces depending on the state.
The termites were not there intially. They later spread from the other townhouses.
