Finally a very mechanic video well done and detailed, I was fed up of videos made for brake pads removal we all know how to change brake pad, please make video like this one for other parts thanks
Waw what a professional work, really love it!, My notes: 1. Its extremely recommended to replace both springs together. 2. You didn't mention replacing the brake disc in the video while it looks new after replacing the spring.
This is an excellent instruction for the job! Well done, good guidance on torque etc. One little detail that could be emphasized more: the need to push up the wheel axle to normal ride height at the end, before tightening those final nuts to specified torque. I missed that on the first try, resulting in horrible clonking noise at the slightest bump. Re-did the final steps correctly today and the noises disappeared. Here it is recommended to determine normal ride height with normally loaded vehicle, in my case it was 40 cm from upper wheel housing to center of wheel spindle. Just pump it up with a jack to target measure, *then* tighten the final nuts to spec.
My all 4 new springs are coming , and iam already loosing motivation to do it mysle… I thought front ones was hard , but rear you had to remove all back interior…
@@gigel99324 good luck to you , I changed before e60 all suspension together with shock absorbers, so I know what to expect, at least 2 days hammering stuck nuts and bolts, especially its 21 year old car hehe
Why BMW? Why make it so that you have to remove the rear seats on an E39 to get to some plastic clips that hold the parcel shelf? On the E38 all you have to do is remove the C pillar trim on both sides and then the parcel shelf can be lifted out. They had a good design that worked, why change it?😂

I love how you have to remove half of the interior just to get to the top bolts
A sacrifice you need to make once or twice in a car's lifetime to enjoy it for 20 damn years
awesome vid guys, thanks! deciding whether to tackle this myself on my E39 soon
Thank you for your feedback!
We are glad to know this tutorial was useful to you.
Stay tuned for more!
