The original Carrie was released in 1976, and while Sway shared his experience watching it as a child, Chloe goes on to compare the two movies.

This interview was HILLARIOUS! I love the movie Carrie, I have seen 5 or 6 times and I'm gonna go see it again. Chloë Grace Moretz is an amazing and great actress, she has a long future in acting for her. I just really hope she doesn't do drugs and fuck up her life like most child stars do.

Yeah Chloe's just a kid but she seems wiser and more eloquent than her peers because she's been home schooled. I grew up as a smug, worldly homeschooler, too. lol It's pretty obvious that she's been learning viewpoints from older siblings and parents. She has yet to explore the world on her own terms, though. That's when the real-life education begins.

Sorry but both Sway and Moretz must be either brain dead or made of stone if they didn't empathise with Sissy Spacek's tragic portrayal in the original... she was far more heartbreaking than this flash in the pan non entity.
I would have to agree with you for the most part. A huge part of the power of Sissy Spacek’s performance, and the original movie in general, was how much Carrie elicits sympathy from the audience. You really feel for her. She’s this painfully alienated and shy girl who has a desperate desire to be accepted, or at the very least not terrorized by bullies. And when she starts to gain confidence, makes her own dress, and begins to stand up to her mother, you can’t help but root for her. And then comes the twin emotions during the prom scene once all hell breaks loose, being scared of her but at the same time still kind of rooting for her. That balance would never work without Sissy’s brilliant performance. She wasn’t nominated for an Academy Award for nothing. I didn’t think Cloe was BAD in her version, but Sissy Spacek’s is iconic.
