Obviously you are a very good instructor, explaining everything without glazing or rushing over things.
I'm a product trainer, the only right way to teach/train anyone is always assume they know nothing, even if they think they knows everything.
start at the begin, explain each step or process, never rush, don't sound condescending or frustrated, everyone learns at different rates, and remember a relaxed pupil will learn more than a nervous pupil

This is the first time I comment for a pullover to the side. The explanation was so clear. My present instructor never taught me that calm most of the time he controls the car for me so how can I learn if he will never let me do it the way I understood his explanation. Most of the time his becoming impatient that's why I tend to become anxious and commit more mistakes. My previous instructor let me do it and just take control if I'm doing wrong I.

Great idea. But fact is you cannot always use the same marker point for each and every curb. Some curbs are higher than others.
One trick is to simply park beside the curb and if you see you are still far away, simply turn the steering to the right then reverse the car towards the curb. When you are now close enough to the curb, turn steering to the left while still reversing to bring the car parallel to the curb.
Of course, you need to ensure you have enough space behind you during the initial parking.

The center of the dash as he showed can also be used to judge how close his right or left wheel is to the curb when going in at an angle, depending on which side the driver's seat is placed. So looking at the video, you can see the curb riding up the hood towards the center where his hand was. That's the turn point or pretty close to it

If only that ship, The TITANIC had followed his teachings:
    - " Captain ! Ahoy !! ICEBERG ahead ! "
    - " Don't hit the curb.......... "

Perhaps you were the captain's instructor...
      - " Arrrr ! You need to read no more and practice laughing... " (Ship mate)

Firstly the reference point will depend a lot on the angle your car is towards the curb. Secondly, usually there are other cars parked along the road so in real circumstances most likely you won't have that much distance alongside the curb to straighten your car.

Can you let me know on different instances if there was a a double parked car and there was a vehicle coming toward you from the opposite direction (before you went or go around the double parked car) what would you need to do? Also if as you were going around the parked car and a car was coming toward you from the opposite direction what would you do then?

It's pretty normal to hit the curb when you are when you ready to turn , sometimes it mainly deals with how small lanes are or how wide your car like my Challenger. Along you don't go fast and be idiot you will be alright
