My problem is that I want to respect the speed limit so much so I keep on staring at the dashboard to see my speed and it takes my attention away. so I start to swerve lol. But I'll correct it, I know I am a good driver!
76% of people think they are better than the average driver. Don’t let overconfidence get you in an accident because you decide to relax and stop thinking.
Ever since I acquired my driving license I have been struggling with staying centered in my lane. I used to go too close to the edge of the road or too close to the center. This video helped me figure it all out, I drive with a lot more confidence now. Thanks for the video!
Didn't see many comments where people came back to this video after trying it, so I'm here to say I tried this for the first time today for almost 1.5 total hours of driving through 45-55mph roads and according to my husband, today was definitely one of my best drives yet. It was like magic how much of a difference it made, and I was able to focus on what was in front of me well. My only issue is I get nervous on winding roads and curves if I'm not looking at the lines on the road, so I panic a little and it throws me off, so I need to practice that. But this was such a great tip, thank you!!
Thank you Carlos! My current driving instructor keeps telling me to stay in the middle but never explains or shows me any technique that will help me detect when I am there. This helped tremendously with my understanding.
tbh a lil tip is to remember what the lines on the road is. white = one way, either lane but approach with caution (cannot merge/cross a double solid line white) yellow = opposite road - always go on the right side from your perspective when driving - cannot cross/merge on solid/double solid yellow lines. - u can cross/merge whenever its a broken yellow line, but u just do this carefully & do it w/ caution idk if i'm fully correct as i'm currently a very new beginner driver
Thank you so much for this video. All the situations you mentioned about us beginner drivers is so true. My husband & even my driving instructor keep on yelling "stay in the center of the lane!" when I'm driving. But they don't show me HOW DO I DO IT?? !!! This video is straightforward, simple, & a Godsend.
Preparing for taking a Road Test, I laughed while watching at this video because it's all true, I'm way too scared, but with this it really helps me a lot. I will surely apply this for my practice time. Wish me luck. Many thumbs up!
This is very similar to how motorcyclists learn to ride. Looking at an obstacle that you're trying to avoid is called "target fixation." What happens is, you end up hitting the very thing you were trying to avoid. To combat this, it is encouraged to look through the turn. This is especially true on curves blocked by trees, hills, or whatever. Assume that the road beyond what you can see is covered by loose gravel, a fallen tree, slime, whatever, and prepare to react accordingly.
OMG so true. I am taking lessons and my driver instructor thought it was a good idea to take me on a lumpy, curvy, road with overgrown Tree's. Thanks to this video I was ready and looking straight ahead and through the tree's I am grateful for this channel cause I knew in advance I did very good considering this was my first time. I passed my road test and have a license and I still make all these mistakes and have anxiety driving. These tips really helped and it’s a small adjustment that makes a MASSIVE difference. It’s never too late as learning something new.
The way i learned to stay in the center is that i look on my mirror to see the lines, after a while i got the feeling of knowing when im centered and sometimes check just to make sure. This video definitely helped me when i started driving!
I was struggling soo much with getting centered!!!! After watching this video, I put your tips into practise and my instructor has said I have improved a lot!!! I'm over the moon, as I couldn't figure out how to fix my problem. Thanks so much!!

Thank you very much for all the hard work you put in to produce such awesome videos!
Another tip to kind of give you conformation of where you are in the lane is using the side mirrors (especially when on a curve) to see how far away you are from the line, especially when you cant see the lines clearly they will be more clear in the mirrors than infront of you. This helped me alot when i was learning how to drive because i never really had conformation of where exacly i was between the lines.
When you become ONE with your vehicle (know where the 4 corners are, & where the 4 tires are) you can put your vehicle within 6 inches of any object while doing 60+ mph. NOT TOO MANY people have this skill. Hence traffic jam in tight places. C'est la vie.

I'm a beginner at driving, and in your video you answered plenty of the questions I got in my head. I didn't even know how to express myself about them. So finally I felt understood and will take the tips you gave. You're an amazing instructor, thanks God I found your channel. Greetings and thank you!
This video literally popped up on my feed when I needed it the most. Thank you!!! I just got my license and I keep being told by my family and was told by my instructor that I drive too close to the centre line or the side, without getting proper guidance on how to drive centred. My problem exactly is watching the lines on the asphalt and also being scared of objects. This helped a bunch, I'll need to try this out in practice!!
Last year I did not know how to drive but I kept watching these videos and now I can drive to anywhere, everywhere at any time and I didn’t even go t isn’t driving school it was just your videos !!!

Thank you for being gentle. Im on my 4th hour of driving and i still cant center my self properly. Other cars scare the crap out of me and so do objects and my coach just doesnt understand the fear. But you explained it so well and so quickly so thank you.
I had a driving lesson from my Brother and Father today, instead of giving me concrete advice, they just yell at me if I messed up, specially when I'm not centered and having troubles in handling my steering wheel. Thanks for your videos, I will learn proper techniques for safe driving.
Bro, rule is align your steering wheel at the center of the road. Make a quick check of relfections on both your side mirrors to confirm. If you're trying to enter a narrow road with lots of obstacles, use the tip of side mirrors as safe distance guide, also check the reflections as well. If you're still in doubt, go out and observe the surroundings
I am a 74 year old with almost a million miles of driving behind me, and no accidents since minor fender benders at age 19 when I would hot rod. I found this to be a very useful tip, and have picked up several other useful tips from your excellent videos as well! Thank you!
Thank you for the tips. I have only heard "you'll get a feel for it" but never actually was told real advice on how to stay centred. Hopefully I can impress my family next time I drive with this advice
KZM KeramatZMode use your rearview mirrors. If you see the lanes marks in your mirrors you are good. If you cant see the right line mark or left then you are too far too one side
My dad says I’m an excellent driver but he says I still need to focus on staying in the lane everything else he said I’m great at except parallel parking ,and this video is helping a-lot thanks for the hints. And I am just 17 and still I need to be confident of myself that I can pass my driving test so good luck to me and everyone who is now starting to drive and here’s a tip ‘’ never be afraid, don’t ever overwhelmed yourself, focus on the safety of the people inside the vehicle, and keep watch on the road at all times.
This is actually really helpful, I’m so glad these videos exist! I’ve got my third driving lesson tomorrow, so this really is important to me! Thank you
This video helps me a lot. The first day when I was learning how to drive on the public road, I did't know where to look at and kept making mistakes. That night I watched this video several times. Then, my problem was solved perfectly. Very quickly I got my license. I also recommended this video/channel to a friend. Without any doubt, she also learned from it and got her license a few weeks later. Thank you so much!
1:30 "Students tend to look at the concrete borders so that they don't hit it, and what happens? They almost hit it." I feel attacked. But I like this guy.
OMG thank you so much! I’m learning how to drive, and one of my biggest difficulties is staying in my lane or getting to my lane when making turns (there’s a bit of an improvement, but not w/o the stress lol). I wasn’t sure how to calculate it since looking at it by the lines and curbs is deceiving. When I thought I was centered, I was actually taking up the whole rode. When I adjusted myself, I was a little too close to the curb (cause that’s what it looks like when my dad adjusted it for me). Getting vague advice as if you actually have the experience does not help. I know getting experience is part of the process, but I’m not interested in getting screamed at and feeling like a bad driver while I’m at it. Thank you for the video! I feel a bit more confident and ready to tackle another lesson. Your instructions are clear and concise, pls keep it up!
"Beginners are usually stressed when they drive" my leg during my first driving lesson today "Alright let's tremble and ruin your entire experience" Edit: After three days driving it has gotten better and I’m gaining confidence.
Thank you for this. My mom keeps screaming at me for going too far to the right of my lane and I got my driving test tmr when I haven’t been driving for long but I need to get it before I move 😭
Finally! Someone has spoken up about my concern. My instructor always says to look from afar. No one mentioned imagining a line at the center. Thank you, I found you video.
My instructor never told me tips about this. It's disappointing that I have to do my own research about tips and advice in the internet even though I have an instructor. Im learning more in the internet than the instructor who is beside me the whole 2 hours of practical driving. Thank you for the information and advices, this helps me alot to be a better driver!
Brilliant clear and thorough! I live in the UK so obviously we drive on the other side but everything this guy said is literally what I do and why I do it... I'm currently in the last stages of my driving lessons and I still can't quite get my positioning right now I know why! Real big help thank you
You have no idea on how much weight just got lifted off my shoulder hearing this.. I just got my learns and I kept thinking "How will I maintain my lane" This just solved my problem. Million thanks

I'm currently learning how to drive and I always hold the wheel too tight. I don't even notice it because I'm usually nervous. I also tend to over correct.
This is gonna be really helpful. I’m currently learning how to drive with an instructor and I noticed the road is not as straight as you think it is so u might notice as time goes by u start to go further than the line in the left or vice versa. I always try my best keeping myself in between the lane by looking at the side mirrors which can be very hard and distracting ur look in the front. Tomorrow I’m gonna try this and see how much it’ll help me
Excellent! This is something I preach all the time....frustrated with city drivers riding the shoulder/bike/parking lanes, and country drivers hugging the center or crossing it because at higher speeds they think they are close to the edge of the road. And how *&$% I get at people that don't move over for flashing lights!!! Should be mandatory watching for new drivers, and watched by old pro's once a year!

same lmaoo. Just came back after a driving lesson w my dad that just consisted of his screaming that I'm going off the road, about to hit a lamp or a car but he never explained how to make sure I stay in my lane hhhhh
@@hamiii1816 lmao same. I yell back at him. Do u wanna fucking drive or me?. Then when im angry, because im not focusing on my anxiety, then i drive smoothly lmaoo. Fking brain manupulation
@@mont9150 lmaaoooo I did worse cuz I was so nervous. I just sit there and not say a word cuz he's the one who knows how to drive in the end but damn chill let's calm down a bit
@@hamiii1816 sorry for the late reply, youtube notifications sucks. How ur driving goes?
@@mont9150 waaaayyyyy better. I have 2 more road lessons and 8 parking lessons left at my driving school. Also drove from my house to my brother's university for the first time and it went ammaaazzziinnggg. No yelling on my dad's part thankfully. My test is on march 16 wish me luck
My problem is that I want to respect the speed limit so much so I keep on staring at the dashboard to see my speed and it takes my attention away. so I start to swerve lol. But I'll correct it, I know I am a good driver!
Same multi tasking is hard
You say multitasking is hard? Pilots do it all while taking a sip of tea.
This is my exact problem 🙄
76% of people think they are better than the average driver. Don’t let overconfidence get you in an accident because you decide to relax and stop thinking.
ᒃ But pilots get a LOT more training than drivers
4 hours have passed since I started listening to this G and I'm not bored yet, let aside all the knowledge I gained.
THANKS MAN 🙏
Ever since I acquired my driving license I have been struggling with staying centered in my lane.
Yes, with a lot of students, just looking at the right place fixes many aligning problems almost instantaneously. Thanks for the comment.
@@ConduiteFacile Thank you, I passed my road test today thanks to the numerous videos I watched of yours!
Thank you Carlos! My current driving instructor keeps telling me to stay in the middle but never explains or shows me any technique that will help me detect when I am there. This helped tremendously with my understanding.
I’m a beginner driver and literally my biggest problem is I always feel like I’m in the wrong lanes
Hey girlie! Just wanted to check in and ask how you’re doing now since I’ve just started practicing and this is also my biggest issue.

tbh a lil tip is to remember what the lines on the road is.
white = one way, either lane but approach with caution
(cannot merge/cross a double solid line white)
yellow = opposite road
- always go on the right side from your perspective when driving
- cannot cross/merge on solid/double solid yellow lines.
- u can cross/merge whenever its a broken yellow line, but u just do this carefully & do it w/ caution
idk if i'm fully correct as i'm currently a very new beginner driver
Thank you so much for this video. All the situations you mentioned about us beginner drivers is so true. My husband & even my driving instructor keep on yelling "stay in the center of the lane!" when I'm driving. But they don't show me HOW DO I DO IT?? !!! This video is straightforward, simple, & a Godsend.
Preparing for taking a Road Test, I laughed while watching at this video because it's all true, I'm way too scared, but with this it really helps me a lot. I will surely apply this for my practice time. Wish me luck. Many thumbs up!
Don't hold your wheel too tight and good luck :)
Conduite Facile thsnkkk uuu 😭😭😭😭😭

This is very similar to how motorcyclists learn to ride. Looking at an obstacle that you're trying to avoid is called "target fixation." What happens is, you end up hitting the very thing you were trying to avoid. To combat this, it is encouraged to look through the turn. This is especially true on curves blocked by trees, hills, or whatever. Assume that the road beyond what you can see is covered by loose gravel, a fallen tree, slime, whatever, and prepare to react accordingly.
Yup. Exactly that.
My test is Wednesday I pray I pass🙏🏽

Thanks
You did a better job explaining this in 3 mins than other 20-30mins videos of this. Thanks!
The only person who’s actually shown me how to stay centred rather than just grabbing the wheel from me to correct!
This has just helped me drive straight into my lane for the first time ever! I drove to school yesterday with only one correction for being too close to the right & none today!! Thanks & good luck fellow learners😭😭
today I did my driving and I do the imaginary line I'm in the center
my teacher never teach me this
and thank you so much it's improve my driving next week il be in the driver test so il keep watching your vedio it's really helpful to me..
watching from phillipines ..,,,😄😁
Just took my test today and passed!! I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for you and everything you have ever posted about driving, I would have failed!! Thank you so much
Well nice to hear that. Glad I could help. Congrats!
You are actually making this make sense! I’ve had a permit for four years and none of several driving teachers explain things this simply.
I passed my road test and have a license and I still make all these mistakes and have anxiety driving. These tips really helped and it’s a small adjustment that makes a MASSIVE difference. It’s never too late as learning something new.
I've booked a 20 days driving lesson I'm trying to focus on my lane! This video has taught me alot thanks guys.
Glad it helped!
I swear this is the one thing that has scared me off driving for all these years - I never knew where I'm positioned exactly on the lane and scared to hit cars on the sides. You're a god sent! :)
Car Driving Tips that are purposeful, most wanted and desirable, to the point, clearly articulated, profusely, clearly and accurately shot with loads of picture in picture shots, make your videos the finest on Car Driving, and a delight to watch and learn!
C'est la vie.
i’m going on my first big drive today! i’m taking notes and using all the videos like this to help
driving for almost a year now and vids like these still really help 👍
man ur accent is cool😂😂😂.I love it.
Mighty Penguin French Canadian accent ;)
I don't think it's the "French Canadian accent". all the people I know don't have an accent like that when they speak in English
Mighty Penguin I've been studying how to overcome fear of driving and found an awesome resource at Fergs Driver Dismay (google it if you are interested)

It’s the french canadian accent, because I’m a french canadian 😂
Thank you
My mother would always get scared. I’m gonna go clean into the ditch. You’ve helped me out. Thank you.
That's nice to hear.
Omg thank you so much for this! My father was the only one that taught me how to drive (our car is manual and I've learned so much from him), I never went to a driving school and now I've been driving for 2 years, and I'm so happy that I came across your videos, I'm learning more and more! New subscriber here!! Thank you so much, sir! 😊

Thank you for being gentle. Im on my 4th hour of driving and i still cant center my self properly. Other cars scare the crap out of me and so do objects and my coach just doesnt understand the fear. But you explained it so well and so quickly so thank you.
This channel is saving me so many would-be troubles and headaches in the future. Thank you.
This was one of the simplest and yet most helpful videos I've found!!
I had a driving lesson from my Brother and Father today, instead of giving me concrete advice, they just yell at me if I messed up, specially when I'm not centered and having troubles in handling my steering wheel. Thanks for your videos, I will learn proper techniques for safe driving.
You're welcome. And good luck!
Thank you!
Decades of decadent co2 emissions
Hope ur proud of urself. The earth is a little bit worse thanks to you
Cool. Thanks.
Thank you for the tips. I have only heard "you'll get a feel for it" but never actually was told real advice on how to stay centred. Hopefully I can impress my family next time I drive with this advice
I PASSED MY TEST A YEAR AGO AND ITS ALL BECAUSE OF THIS CHANNEL SIMPLE EASY
dude, can you make a video how to determine your dimension of the car roughly? How to tell your car can fit through a path or obstacle.
I've had a lot of requests for that. I'll try to find a method. I do it all instinctively.
Yes please, do a video on it.
KZM KeramatZMode you just got to get use to your car.
It's all a matter of experience, my friend!
Yup. Good advice. Good luck with your learning.
Got my Drivers license yesterday, when starting to drive I was drifting alot , thanks to this video I was able to fix that problem . Thank you 😊
I took my first lesson today, and this actually worked. Started off shakey, but I did keep my car straight.
They almost hit it."

But I like this guy.

Ahahahha same as me when on highway i have anxiety attacks like how will I make it. And on the concrete wall I was like hitting it.
NO THAT HAD ME DEAD LMAO
I don't even drive but I keep watching driving tips. Maybe I should start learning
I needed this. Love how you included visuals and situations they made it better for me to understand.
"Beginners are usually stressed when they drive" my leg during my first driving lesson today "Alright let's tremble and ruin your entire experience"
Edit: After three days driving it has gotten better and I’m gaining confidence.

Since the time I saw your video,2 years, I still remember you saying to stay focused on that point, thanks!!!
Wow you just nailed the worst habit I have without me even recognizing I had it. Definitely will try everything in this video thank you 🙏
Glad it was helpful!

The way he explains is so easy to understand and learn just loved it 😊
My instructor never told me tips about this.

Omg thank you so Much for this video! I did my first driving lesson and I can’t seem to be driving straight! My instructor just keeps saying” oh don’t hit the garbage cans, don’t hit the cars, stay in driving lane” I am dead 💀 I’m so nervous too
Wow - so glad we found you. Our 18 yo daughter is learning to drive, and let's just say the first few weeks were rough. Your opening video (how to stay centered) alone will save me major white-knuckle anxiety going forward. Can't wait to have her view all the other ones too! I followed this driving tip and my instructor stopped telling me to “stay in the centre” and I took that as progress. Passed my G2 in one try! Thanks for your videos! 🙏
I'm currently learning how to drive and I always hold the wheel too tight. I don't even notice it because I'm usually nervous. I also tend to over correct.
I love how all the descriptions are me😂 the other cars, borders and everything scares me!
The thing about being overly observant of the vehicle in front of you is absolutely accurate. Watching this video reminds me that I need way more practice, thank you for the tips
UPDATE: passed my driving’s test with flying colors.
And when you are with another driver they will tell you just focus on the car infront of uu🤣🤣
I had a coworker tell me to just look where you wanna go. Now I understand what she meant. I do spend a lot of time worried I’m going to crash into parked cars or curbs. Very informative video!
