Here's a video on how to stay centered in your lane. There are mainly two reasons why beginners drift:
1-They're not looking at the right place,
2- the way they hold the wheel.
That's what I talk about in this video. Hope you like it.
Note: While I try to make my videos as universal as possible, rules and laws may vary according to the place where you’re driving and might be different from the ones in this video. Always drive according to the laws and rules that apply to the place where you are driving. Requirements at the driving exam may also be different than the ones shown here. Always respect the requirements that apply to the place where you are passing your driving exam. This video is not meant to replace your official driving courses.
I highly recommend you guys using this tip it really works absolutely 100%! I tried it earlier today and it was a success and I only came back here to tell you guys how good it was! ...please thump up this comment so everyone can see it.
Im thumping up
I’ll thumps down when I comes back and if didn’t work.
Not bad not bad it actually worked 😂
@@Whatisgoingonherebro dude 1 month to come back
im gonna try this next time i drive and see if it works
Family members: you're too far to the right, you need to learn how to be more centered
Me: ok, how do I do that?
Family members: just drive more centered
Me: great, thanks....
This really helped, thanks
I hear you. They've been doing it instinctively for so long that they take it for granted.
same here man.. I will never drive again with my parents :)) ahahaha lmao
Your lucky mine screams in my ear
My driving instructor is my dad, he makes me soo nervous.
omg yes this video was very needed my mama be like " don't ask me the questions you suppose to know" wait excuse me ma'am this just my first day driving idk
My first time driving I was repeatedly told to stay centered but I kept asking how am I supposed to know if I’m centered or not? And I was told “you just have to get a feel of it” like... okay?? it FEELS like Ik centered but you’re saying I’m not. This video was very helpful
BRUH FR
Same happened to me nowadays. I m worried about this 😢
Same here 🤦♀️
😂😂😂😂Same shit happened to me , it’s crazy because I was fucking centred and this asshole kept telling me , I wasn’t.
Use your blind spot mirrors. That helps me
This really is a life lesson. We give so much of our energy to things that we try to avoid that we hit it (literally) instead of focusing on where we want to go
Inadvertently Poignant
Underrated comment
Agree on this.. we kept on looking things both sides having no idea that we lose our track
Either we focus on what we want and get it or focus on what we don't and finish by having it also.
This is the key to change
is it just me or does his accent keep me more interested and Intrigued in what he has to say
Yes it sure does
Yes? It surely does? I really enjoy his accent?
Yessss, way better than that "Hey everybodyyyy" guy.
True haha
I thought the same thing, lol.
This is my biggest issue, I be scared that I'm to close to the parked cars
me too, same prob.

I'm 21 and now learning how to drive. I've always had a lot of anxiety about it. I have my permit now and these videos are helping me a lot. ☺️
I'm the same taking an online course and watching these videos...I wish you all the best ❤️
@@jenjen8810 Thank you! I actually have my license now and even drive myself to work everyday. I'm still anxious in heavy traffic but I'm getting better every day. I wish you good luck on your driving!
@@rainillaaa how are you doing now?
I’m 21 and learning to drive as well. It’s been a hell of a ride.
I took my 5th lesson today. I have come along way. Drove to suburbs today. Still having a challenge with sone things, but the more you drive the more confident you get.
I’m 25 and just got my license after being on my learner permit for years. I would watch your videos before every lesson to calm my nerves and they really helped me a lot. I still watch your videos to guide me as a new driver 😊
To anyone who wants to get their license but is too scared/anxious, please go for it! Lessons are nerve-wracking but once you have your license you can pretty much do what you want without anyone judging you. This is what my instructor told me (just to encourage me). Remember, driving examiners just want to know if you can follow the rules and be safe on the road! If I can do it, you can too. Good luck! 😊
Excellent. I was told the same thing.
Drive well enough to show the instructor you can control the vehicle. After you pass you are pretty much on your own and still learning, but nobody pointing out all your flaws.
Yessir I got a problem with stayin in my lane Rick can you give me sum advice
Congrats, S. Do you just re-apply for the learners permit the next year? There is no necessity to pass theory anymore, right ?
I absolutely LOVE YOU. I wish you were my instructor. Ive spent money and having anxiety attacks about being on the road because im corrected with no methodical explanation on how to correct myself, You did it in 4 minutes. Youre the reason people wont have accidents and im proud to say that. MORE INSTRUCTORS LIKE YOU SHOULD EXIST. I m grateful for your teachings
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad I can help.
T
Yes, he helped me prepare for my road test I will focus on the center.
i feel you.
so true. tutors can learn from this tutor
WOW I actually thought this video would be obvious and gimmicky. This is one of the biggest things I struggle with while driving. I do ALL of these things. I'm always drifting my car towards things and it drives me crazy wondering how other people can align themselves perfectly. Thanks a bunch - teenager with driving permit.
CNG, it’s been over a year since the comment! How are you doing now? I hope you fixed your problem and doing better.
Yo bruh I just got my permit and I have the same problem lol I always drive a little to the left
How are u doing now? I don't get my permit until next year but I want to be ahead of the game.
A Window I started driving lessons yesterday and I was drifting so much and after watching this video and using the tips I did so much better! My driving instructor was so impressed on how much better I did today!!!!
same, I'm like how do you drive straight??
I’m a beginner driver and literally my biggest problem is I always feel like I’m in the wrong lanes
Hey girlie! Just wanted to check in and ask how you’re doing now since I’ve just started practicing and this is also my biggest issue.

tbh a lil tip is to remember what the lines on the road is.
white = one way, either lane but approach with caution
(cannot merge/cross a double solid line white)
yellow = opposite road
- always go on the right side from your perspective when driving
- cannot cross/merge on solid/double solid yellow lines.
- u can cross/merge whenever its a broken yellow line, but u just do this carefully & do it w/ caution
idk if i'm fully correct as i'm currently a very new beginner driver
I could still remember how I would argue with my Dad when he first taught me. He kept on yelling that I'm gonna hit people or random objects found on the road, but never really explained how I could evade them. Thanks!
same lmaoo. Just came back after a driving lesson w my dad that just consisted of his screaming that I'm going off the road, about to hit a lamp or a car but he never explained how to make sure I stay in my lane hhhhh

An old trucker tip I was taught was to imagine your right foot (american driving on right side of road) is in the middle of the road and you will always stay in the middle.
Never thought of that. Thanks for the tip.
Awesome! I'm gonna use this tip, thanks!
Yea thats how my driving teacher taught me aswell, it works very well!
Hi im from malaysia.. We drive on the left.. So do i need to use left foot?

I am learning to drive, and my instructor kept saying "keep yourself centered. Stay on your lane!" And true enough, just as indicated here, I kept watching the borders trying not to get too close to them or the pavement, and that's exactly where I would find myself heading to 😅 But in under 4 minutes, I now know how I will stay centered! Thank you for the tip. Boyyyy have I got a surprise for my instructor tomorrow! And oh, looove the accent 😊😊

Bruh, in Serbia, passing a driving test costs about 680€ ...
And average salaries are about 250-300€
Lol
@@user-ke5rp5wu3x it's minimum €1700 here in Denmark, and can easily be much more expensive O.o
@@curiouscyclist865 yeah, but i bet you have much better way of living life, with decent salaries.
This is very similar to how motorcyclists learn to ride. Looking at an obstacle that you're trying to avoid is called "target fixation." What happens is, you end up hitting the very thing you were trying to avoid. To combat this, it is encouraged to look through the turn. This is especially true on curves blocked by trees, hills, or whatever. Assume that the road beyond what you can see is covered by loose gravel, a fallen tree, slime, whatever, and prepare to react accordingly.
Yup. Exactly that.
1:30 "Students tend to look at the concrete borders so that they don't hit it, and what happens? They almost hit it."
I feel attacked.
But I like this guy.

Thank you so much for this video. All the situations you mentioned about us beginner drivers is so true. My husband & even my driving instructor keep on yelling "stay in the center of the lane!" when I'm driving. But they don't show me HOW DO I DO IT?? !!! This video is straightforward, simple, & a Godsend.
Thank you Carlos! My current driving instructor keeps telling me to stay in the middle but never explains or shows me any technique that will help me detect when I am there. This helped tremendously with my understanding.
My problem is that I want to respect the speed limit so much so I keep on staring at the dashboard to see my speed and it takes my attention away. so I start to swerve lol. But I'll correct it, I know I am a good driver!
Same multi tasking is hard
You say multitasking is hard? Pilots do it all while taking a sip of tea.
This is my exact problem 🙄
76% of people think they are better than the average driver. Don’t let overconfidence get you in an accident because you decide to relax and stop thinking.
ᒃ But pilots get a LOT more training than drivers
Thank you for this video. Last week I was driving really bad. Then I saw your video and my dad was like "see, you know how to drive already" I honestly thought that I was never gonna get it. I used to look at the lines to stay center and I would always go to one side, now I know where to look! You are a life saver!!!
omg me too!

So finally I felt understood and will take the tips you gave. You're an amazing instructor, thanks God I found your channel. Greetings and thank you!
You did a better job explaining this in 3 mins than other 20-30mins videos of this. Thanks!

The power of youtube 😂😂😥
i suffer from extreme anxiety and my grandfather yelling at me did not help since when i drive im worrying about people crashing in to be or tailgating me
man ur accent is cool😂😂😂.I love it.
Mighty Penguin French Canadian accent ;)
I don't think it's the "French Canadian accent". all the people I know don't have an accent like that when they speak in English
Mighty Penguin I've been studying how to overcome fear of driving and found an awesome resource at Fergs Driver Dismay (google it if you are interested)
I have spent months studying how to overcome fear of driving and found an awesome website at fergs driver dismay (google it if you're interested)
It’s the french canadian accent, because I’m a french canadian 😂
Another tip to kind of give you conformation of where you are in the lane is using the side mirrors (especially when on a curve) to see how far away you are from the line, especially when you cant see the lines clearly they will be more clear in the mirrors than infront of you. This helped me alot when i was learning how to drive because i never really had conformation of where exacly i was between the lines.
When you become ONE with your vehicle (know where the 4 corners are, & where the 4 tires are) you can put your vehicle within 6 inches of any object while doing 60+ mph. NOT TOO MANY people have this skill. Hence traffic jam in tight places. C'est la vie.
My hands will be sweating so bad after a 15 minute drive 😂
sameee
same!!
i thought i was the only one!!
me too 😭😭
Even though I passed my driving exam, its still worth watching videos like this to improve my driving. Good work.
This has just helped me drive straight into my lane for the first time ever! I drove to school yesterday with only one correction for being too close to the right & none today!! Thanks & good luck fellow learners😭😭
This video literally popped up on my feed when I needed it the most. Thank you!!!
I just got my license and I keep being told by my family and was told by my instructor that I drive too close to the centre line or the side, without getting proper guidance on how to drive centred. My problem exactly is watching the lines on the asphalt and also being scared of objects. This helped a bunch, I'll need to try this out in practice!!
Preparing for taking a Road Test, I laughed while watching at this video because it's all true, I'm way too scared, but with this it really helps me a lot. I will surely apply this for my practice time. Wish me luck. Many thumbs up!
Don't hold your wheel too tight and good luck :)

You guys are great I passed my test because of you I like your explanations so clear and straightforward
Thanks
You are actually making this make sense! I’ve had a permit for four years and none of several driving teachers explain things this simply.
I passed my road test and have a license and I still make all these mistakes and have anxiety driving. These tips really helped and it’s a small adjustment that makes a MASSIVE difference. It’s never too late as learning something new.
dude, can you make a video how to determine your dimension of the car roughly? How to tell your car can fit through a path or obstacle.
I've had a lot of requests for that. I'll try to find a method. I do it all instinctively.
Yes please, do a video on it.
KZM KeramatZMode you just got to get use to your car.
It's all a matter of experience, my friend!
KZM KeramatZMode use your rearview mirrors. If you see the lanes marks in your mirrors you are good. If you cant see the right line mark or left then you are too far too one side
This is actually really helpful, I’m so glad these videos exist! I’ve got my third driving lesson tomorrow, so this really is important to me! Thank you
Just took my test today and passed!! I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for you and everything you have ever posted about driving, I would have failed!! Thank you so much
Well nice to hear that. Glad I could help. Congrats!
The way i learned to stay in the center is that i look on my mirror to see the lines, after a while i got the feeling of knowing when im centered and sometimes check just to make sure. This video definitely helped me when i started driving!
I needed this. Love how you included visuals and situations they made it better for me to understand.
Omg thank you so much for this! My father was the only one that taught me how to drive (our car is manual and I've learned so much from him), I never went to a driving school and now I've been driving for 2 years, and I'm so happy that I came across your videos, I'm learning more and more! I'm currently in the last stages of my driving lessons and I still can't quite get my positioning right now I know why! Real big help thank you
Thank you for the tips. I have only heard "you'll get a feel for it" but never actually was told real advice on how to stay centred. Hopefully I can impress my family next time I drive with this advice

This channel is the best source on the internet. The content is explained very well in less time and more clearly. Thank you 🙏
this dude is chill and this video is helpful
Thank you so much for this video! I just started learning to drive and my main issue has been centering. Naturally, I have been focusing on the obstacles around me, which distracts me. This has helped a ton!
OMG thank you so much! I’m learning how to drive, and one of my biggest difficulties is staying in my lane or getting to my lane when making turns (there’s a bit of an improvement, but not w/o the stress lol). I wasn’t sure how to calculate it since looking at it by the lines and curbs is deceiving. When I thought I was centered, I was actually taking up the whole rode. When I adjusted myself, I was a little too close to the curb (cause that’s what it looks like when my dad adjusted it for me). Getting vague advice as if you actually have the experience does not help. I know getting experience is part of the process, but I’m not interested in getting screamed at and feeling like a bad driver while I’m at it.
Thank you for the video! I feel a bit more confident and ready to tackle another lesson. Your instructions are clear and concise, pls keep it up!
This channel is saving me so many would-be troubles and headaches in the future. Thank you.

I took my first lesson today, and this actually worked. Started off shakey, but I did keep my car straight.
Finally found a useful explanation on how to stay centered on the road. I did the "focus on the lines" strategy and my intructor or sister would help me center again. However, I was not taught how to properly do it on my own. They just help me. I will try this on my next practice. Thanks!

Thank you for being gentle. Im on my 4th hour of driving and i still cant center my self properly. Other cars scare the crap out of me and so do objects and my coach just doesnt understand the fear. But you explained it so well and so quickly so thank you.
Omg this was so informative in just a few minutes. Thank u. U literally just eased all anxiety I had towards driving. I’m going to practice for the second time this weekend, and I feel more confident now.
Ive been driving for a bit now and I have been so nervous about staying in the center. And you helped me realize it’s solely because I stare at my surroundings or my steering wheel too much. Thank you. Now I know to stare further ahead
One of the best videos I've seen explaining this. Great work!
I'm currently learning how to drive and I always hold the wheel too tight. I don't even notice it because I'm usually nervous. I also tend to over correct.
Thanks for this video. I really needed these tips as a beginner
You have no idea on how much weight just got lifted off my shoulder hearing this.. I just got my learns and I kept thinking "How will I maintain my lane" This just solved my problem. Million thanks
This was perfect thank you! I struggle remaining centred, but now knowing that lil' trick of the imaginary centre line in the lane you're driving and lining it up with the centre of the car bonnet seems really helpful. Thank you!
Didn't see many comments where people came back to this video after trying it, so I'm here to say I tried this for the first time today for almost 1.5 total hours of driving through 45-55mph roads and according to my husband, today was definitely one of my best drives yet. It was like magic how much of a difference it made, and I was able to focus on what was in front of me well. My only issue is I get nervous on winding roads and curves if I'm not looking at the lines on the road, so I panic a little and it throws me off, so I need to practice that. But this was such a great tip, thank you!!
Yes, with a lot of students, just looking at the right place fixes many aligning problems almost instantaneously. Thanks for the comment.

It's more of a gray area, but yes, I do have a few tips on that.

@Jonathan LOL!! Thanks but driving in New York city will either give you anxiety or Road rage. I get both sometimes. LOL
@S7at Blakk I understand, I feel the same way too. I've seen way too many accidents and I tend to overthink about the responsibility that driving can be. I don't wish to injure anyone or be injured by a reckless driver. I'm getting over the anxiety out of necessity .
