As far as I understand it, it's the level of "boredom": These people are used to being atop the world, and you can imagine the things they've seen, the things they've done, the obscene luxury they lived in, the amount of underlings treating them like gods. Now they do nothing. They don't see anything, they don't do anything, no one looks at them, talks to them. They barely exist. From atop the world to maximum boredom, slowly, ever so slowly breaking you down day by day, hour by hour. Time becomes nonexistent, reality becomes unreal, you're not sure if you're still alive or dead already. THAT is the horror of Level 6.
Thanks man. The other levels are just physical torture but I remember the eerie feel and goosebumps I got when I first read Oda describe the way Level 6 works. Truly the most brutal torture in my opinion.

Marinefort resembles hell by being a prison, Enies lobby resembles purgatory by being Judicial Island that send people to either Impel Down or Marinefort, and Marinefort resembles heaven by being the headquarters of the marines and is directly put aside Mariejois to protect the world nobles that are like gods to the One piece world.

Tell them to read the manga dude, the one piece anime is super slow and dragged out compared to the manga. I never read the manga for east blue, alabasta, and skypiea arcs, since I first got introduced to the one piece anime, So I personally never liked the first 3 arcs when watching the anime (compared to the other arcs), cuz they seemed super slow or cheesy. However, I recently bought all the manga novels in celebration for 20th anniversary. Breezed through east blue, alabasta and skypiea in like a month and genuinely fell in love with those arcs. Its hard to explain but the one piece manga is a 100 times better than the anime, and thats including current arc. Actually even more so for the current arcs, since the anime is now doing shitty repetitive dances and songs as fillers.

It can't. Haki cannot nullify his powers and I'm tired of the "invisible armor" excuse. Haki has only been used as invisible armor twice. Once when Rayleigh introduced it and another time when the Admirals protected the execution platform. It's clearly not that effective in a lot of situation. At least not against of Vice Admiral level threats. The fact remains that coating your body in armament is fortifying hardness but when Luffy coats his arms in haki it's still just really hard (but rubbery) skin. Doesn't help you much against someone who can splash poison all over your body. I'm not saying Luffy couldn't beat Magellan consider the raw strength of his attacks can beat his poison defense easy. But he wouldn't get away scott free.

I love impel down so much!! Its my favorite arc in one piece! My favorite character that they delve into is bon clay! Without him doing what he could do and running from that find I don't think luffy would've survived Long love bon clay 😭
If Impel Down can't get enough sea prism stones to line the walls of the quarantine zone, there's a more economical method. They can simply have a cage suspended over water. If the prisoners mess with the cage, the cage might fall into the water below and drown everyone in it. It would be effective even if the prisoners aren't DF users. It's kinda weird they didn't have that kind of jail.
It would be a good idea to have a menagerie one level below level 6 so when a Devil Fruit eater dies the Fruit reincarnates into the hand of the Government
I think Level 6 of Impel Down should have been an insane asylum. Think about it, we have people locked up in there that are so evil, they are erased from history. Wouldn't the World Government want to know how and why? I'm imagining it as a typical asylum setting with a horrifying twist. There's an Indie game called Ben and Ed which is about a zombie named Ed running through American Ninja Warrior like obstacle courses to save his human friend, Ben. In this game, there is one obstacle course setting called the Psycho Path where there are hypnotic spirals, mashed up colors, optical illusions, and disturbing animatronics (not the FNAF kind). So combine this with an insane asylum and you get my ideal "Eternal Hell".
I think Impel Down is bigger than we think. Sanjuan Wolf had to fit somewhere, hence it may be the reason why the prison reached to the bottom of the sea floor.
I think it would have made sense if level 6 was solitary confinement. Solitary confinement has already been questioned for being to cruel since it causes permanent psychological damage. It would have also been somewhat poetic since all the other levels are physical torture but level 6 is psychological torture.

I just wanted to note that killing DF users will just make the DF's get back out into the world. Having them live for years and years means less risk in the long run, since there wouldn't be someone finding and learning a strong DF like e.g: Whitebeard's.

It can't. Haki cannot nullify his powers and I'm tired of the "invisible armor" excuse.
Haki has only been used as invisible armor twice. Once when Rayleigh introduced it and another time when the Admirals protected the execution platform. It's clearly not that effective in a lot of situation. At least not against of Vice Admiral level threats.
The fact remains that coating your body in armament is fortifying hardness but when Luffy coats his arms in haki it's still just really hard (but rubbery) skin. Doesn't help you much against someone who can splash poison all over your body.
I'm not saying Luffy couldn't beat Magellan consider the raw strength of his attacks can beat his poison defense easy. But he wouldn't get away scott free.

If Impel Down can't get enough sea prism stones to line the walls of the quarantine zone, there's a more economical method. They can simply have a cage suspended over water. If the prisoners mess with the cage, the cage might fall into the water below and drown everyone in it. It would be effective even if the prisoners aren't DF users.
It's kinda weird they didn't have that kind of jail.

I think Level 6 of Impel Down should have been an insane asylum. Think about it, we have people locked up in there that are so evil, they are erased from history. Wouldn't the World Government want to know how and why? I'm imagining it as a typical asylum setting with a horrifying twist. There's an Indie game called Ben and Ed which is about a zombie named Ed running through American Ninja Warrior like obstacle courses to save his human friend, Ben. In this game, there is one obstacle course setting called the Psycho Path where there are hypnotic spirals, mashed up colors, optical illusions, and disturbing animatronics (not the FNAF kind). So combine this with an insane asylum and you get my ideal "Eternal Hell".

I think Impel Down is bigger than we think. Sanjuan Wolf had to fit somewhere, hence it may be the reason why the prison reached to the bottom of the sea floor.

I think it would have made sense if level 6 was solitary confinement. Solitary confinement has already been questioned for being to cruel since it causes permanent psychological damage. It would have also been somewhat poetic since all the other levels are physical torture but level 6 is psychological torture.

As far as I've understood sea-prism stone itself isn't rare, it's just very very hard to mine/reshape into utilities
I just wanted to note that killing DF users will just make the DF's get back out into the world. Having them live for years and years means less risk in the long run, since there wouldn't be someone finding and learning a strong DF like e.g: Whitebeard's.
