Easy way to prevent the recoil damage from the Impact and Reject Dials:
Put a second Impact Dial behind it to absorb the recoil.
Both good ideas
Infinite Damage output: do the same thing, but use reject dials, every-time you use it, the power gets multiplied by 10.

Considering his lack of control, if Flash dials actually absorb light, could one be used to entirely absorb him if he uses his yata mirror technique? Dials are so awesome. It's such a shame Oda pretty much ignored them after skypea. Imagine what franky could do with them
The whole dial concept is kind of wasted. So much opportunity and cool stuff to do with it, but we got only Usopp's and Nami's weapons. I hope they will use them in the future. Maybe Usopp cathing a giants punch with an impact dial? That could be cool.
Wipers survival on using Impact Dial is an obvious Asspull, Even the Priest that should have been dead are still alive.

Sebas G there is most definitely a limit as to how much an impact dial can store. I think a Haki infused punch from a Yonko would be too much for it. Otherwise the impact dial would be one of the most broken item in the series

One of the most underrated part of the OP tech. I'd hoped that Usopp would've invented more dial related weapons or armours during and after the time skip. At least come up with a freakin impact dial embedded shield or keep a burn blade for close combat.

Usopp probably reverse engineered a impact dial to incorporate into his impact wolf.
Use a reject dial to charge another reject dial, then use that one to charge the first one. Use impact dials to absorb the recoil. Eventually you'll get enough energy to destroy anything. it's more environmental friendly than nukes, and potentially more powerful, too!
Liquor Fan Main problem there is rarity of dials, and I imagine both reject and impact dials have an upper limit, as soon as it either cracks or explodes it becomes useless, plus you’d have to safely disperse the built up impact from the impact dials which could cause damage to either the user or the other dials. Still if you knew the upper limit you could still charge a powerful attack, it’d be like filling a balloon to maximum size.
We certainly need to do more research before building the prototype, but I still think it's a solid proposition! I wont be surprised if Vegapunk has done something similar.
I think maybe it isn't exactly 10 times stronger but releases the energy 10 times faster. With an impact dial it can only deal damage on impact so when the target is no longer in contact any energy released is wasted. You have the force of enertia slowing down the pushing so having the energy released faster means more is transferred to the target. However it also makes the recoil a lot more severe cause your own body can't really absorb it.
Maybe impact dials release the impact at subsonic speeds and reject dials at supersonic speeds. With explosives they also usually make that distinction between subsonic and supersonic. Subsonic explosives are usually cheaper and more predictable but they have the downside the explosive force can easily escape. They are usually used in demolition where you can carefully strap the explosive down so it has nowhere to go.
One neat thing I came up with during a RP was that heat dials all are 200 celcius without exception. So Sky island food is cut down with that in mind. You rarely heat things up to full temperature using an oven as it takes way too long and makes it way too dried out or way too soft. The different oven temperatures really are only because the food is different shapes. Something with more volume needs more time for the heat to reach the center so you bake it for longer at a lower temperature.

What if there was a Dial Dial Fruit? A paramecia where you could turn your body parts into dials, like impact dials on your knuckles for extra punch, or jet dials on your feet to fly. Also, it would be cool if the user could absorb elements, and then use them in the user's dials like how impact dials absorb force.

And lets not forget how many different cloud dials there are. It's not impossible that there is a stronger version of a light dial.

I always wondered why Luffy wouldn't use impact and reject dials in his fights. Since he was made of rubber you would think he could nullify the recoil with his devil fruit.

And once again, this does lead us into the Status Quo is God trope when it comes to Usopp. With so much power granted him by the dials and the super plants, there is no reason for him to still be so cowardly. He is a match for so many enemies now, including mid-tier Devil Fruit users, and yet he still suffers from Shaggy syndrome every time a new enemy appears.
I think it will be that way until long awaited Elbaf arc, when he will finally become real warrior he strives to be so much. Everything we seen about him kinda leeds there

Isn't his devil fruit to absorb which is like impact dial, Enell used thunder dials and he has thunder fruit.
You could exploit the reject and impact dial by just putting two of them in the line, letting one of them absorb the recoil. You can even use two reject ones to gain _infinite power_ since their impact always was the energy stored x 10. I'd recommend having a kind of rotating mechanism that means you can just keep increasing it exponentially and automatically until after a day or two you can shatter the red line.
Also I guess you could just throw the dials and have a timer press the buttons, like dial grenades. Get on it Franky!
Breath Dial is my favorite dial as its the most resourceful. Imagine how devastating they’d be if combined with caesar’s devil fruit.

What I always wondered was if you could use dials as counters to logias. Like for example if Ace/Sabo shoots fire at you and you try to suck it in with a flame dial would that work? The same thing for Kizaru's light beam and the flash dial. I think that would be really cool.

I believe Pagaya mentioned that he was a Dial technician or something of that sort. I imagine hid job is to examine unprocessed Dials and then appropriate them for their proper function.
Also you can use a lightning rod to fill a Thunder Dial ,although it's weird that they seem to have metal on Sky Island but no soil. Then again maybe it's scare enough that this might be a reason Enel used gold for the Maxim.

I think the main thing with the flavor dial is it actually captures and keeps the scent for long times where a breath dial would keep it for a small amount of time, but it would lose scent.

I had an idea a few of years ago while I was Thriller Bark. Ussop kept using the impact dial and I thought, how can we improve this. So I came up with the Ussop Buckler.
The idea is that you put a face across the impact dial that widens it with holes so when you set the dial off the per cones out through the holes. More importantly, there is a second dial behind the first, so when you set off the first one, the backlash goes into the second rather than in your hand. A button can such which dial is in front. I also think it'll be cool is the second dial was a reject dial.

I think a heat dial can also chill things. If you stick it in a fire or an icebox, it should retain the temperature and release upon activation. Temperature is just our perception of heat transference after all, so if we feel cold that just means heat is leaving us, instead of entering. It would make sense if that's how the dial works. Think of it as negative heat.

An Impact Dial could work with real technology if you use a piezoelectric material in komination with a very powerfull small battery pack in the shell. If you punch the shell you load the battery with the current from the piezo. If you want to hit someone you use the inverse piezoeffect and the voltage from the battery lets the piezo stretch. This principle to stretch the piezo is often used in injection systems in the car motor. And the force some Piezomaterials can absorb is also unbelievable high. Lead zirconate titanate as example could absorb a pressure of 150N/mm² . The only problem would be the very small battery that would be needed.
But you see with science even the dials could work.
Except the 100% efficiency which you conveniently leave out because it's impossible by the laws of thermodynamics
By that logic you could also make a wind dial with a motor a propeller on a small battery the motor charges the battery when you blowing into it and the battery runs the propeller afterward

Given the implications of being able to just fly over the Redline and Calm Belt, the Ark Maxim is probably the scariest ship in One Piece. And what I'm proposing is pretty close to it.

I don't understand why people think that impact dials deal damage proportionate to how much they absorb. The amount of force is very consistant and can be used more than once, so I'm sure that it stores (possibly) limitless impact, but can only release a certain amount at a time. This allows for multiple attacks with consistent damage.

In the case of element dials what if it breaks? Does the element escape or is it just gone.
The Aizen dial sword works like Diamante's Flag fruit. He could also manipulate the shape of objects in a similar manner.

It actually something similar happened in the Navarone arc. Ussop wanted to get out from the jail and he found he's flavourful dial and thought it's anesthetic gas in it but it was the one he farted to foul Luffy.

As it has been said before, Luffy could use an impact or reject dial quite safely, as his rubbery body would only be launched backwards at high speed, resulting in a powerful punch following the dial energy release.Another possibility could be to create some sort of weapon with mad shock absortion.Like, covering a shield with them with a spring shock dampening system that's locked before use.
A tone dial could potentially be extremely lethal, as if sound is at certain frequency and volume, it could blow your head off.

Thank Eneru/Enel for you Tekking! I'm rewatching One Piece with my friend who's new to the series and we just made it to Skypiea. This video should help me explain the dials to him if he gets confused.
As well, it's quite obvious how the dials have come about, especially considering they are only found in the white seas. They must have evolved to handle harmful sea predators or developed to communicate and impress the only culture they have within the entire sea. This could go with the sound dials and the wind dials quite nicely to improve quality of life for fellow mulisks.
all i ever wanted to see is Zoro and Sanji to their team-up attack on a reject dial, and then Usopp mounts it onto the face of his inflatable hammer, and mount a jet dial on the back to propel it. the impact would destroy the balloon, but boy that one hit would be one hell of a hit!

2 cool ideas with impact dials:
-Using them as landmines, which would avoid the recoil
-In a scene like what Tekking said, with the meteor falling, like one from Fujitora or some Enel shit, we have like citizens of the place Luffy has gone to using dials to absorb little parts from the energy of the metheor just enough so that Luffy could break it with a giant king kong hit

Actually, I think the Flavor Dials could absorb smells without absorving the air. Think about it, the only reason why we can feel scents in the air, is because of specific molecules that our brains evolved to recognize and distinguish. I think the Flavor Dial absorbs only the molecules, then produces the same in a constant amount. In that case, it would be more like an aromatic candle and less like a perfume spray.
Probably why they don't get used that much on the blue sea... while illogical in the one piece universe... is because of the amount of devil fruit users :p Like the comments already state, Luffy's DF cancels out the negative impact of the impact and reject dial and can you even imagine what Whitebears DF would do with a reject dial? (Assuming his DF is considered an impact on... well impact), heat dials, chill dials and light dials would be rather broken to with the pre skip vice admirals DF. (Although keeping the dials in mind it might explain Pacifista lazor beam :p) But yeah I think we don't see them as much anymore because it would break the story power wise.
You can store water in the water dial when it rains or dip it in the sea. Yes when it rains above the clouds good job tekking lol
Hey Tekking101, here is an idea! SInce their old base has been trashed by Blackbeard, I think the Revolutionary Army should to go to Skypiea or the White (or White-White) Sea in general. This would be a great new hideout for them! It is hard to reach and they could definitely take advance of the technology!
