I truly wish I wasn’t so scared of heights. I’ve jumped out of airplanes in the Army but this is definitely different.

Absolutely! This is all about "low and slow" exploration. It looks so exotic or extreme at first, but it's actually very mellow compared to other glider sports. We have had many pilots who aren't comfortable with heights initially. They would just fly 10 feet off the ground and explore for a while until they were comfortable going up a little more. If you get the chance, try to connect with someone locally so you can see one in person or go for a ride. We're also always here if you just have questions. We love talking about flight. I have over 4200 hrs flying in the Navy but also thought this might possibly make me uneasy. I took an introductory lesson in July 2019 and found that I feel very secure in the harness under the wing. If you feel secure in a swing, the feeling is more secure than that. I recommend an intro lesson to help you decide.

Hi Michael! Thanks for the comment and expressing your concerns...
We have a fantastic reputation where it counts - with the people who are purchasing and flying our gear. Quality of information absolutely depends on the source so please be very cautious as you do research. I found that out the hard way when I first discovered the sport. Social Media had become a very toxic place for the sport - not just our company. Those using fear or talking negatively about other brands is a big red flag when researching your options. Larger companies who have been around a while maintain better professionalism and let their own products shine - without needing to say anything bad about anyone else. It's a little sad to see this, but we're doing our best to counter this problem in the sport by maintaining our professionalism and just getting good information / products out there. We simply don't take part in the "underbelly" of PPG.
If you call us and just talk to our staff after talking to others, you will see a big difference. We've been in business for so long and sell more Paramotors than anyone - over 3,000 of them. When Dealers are on strictly commission and we have a superior product at a better price, it's hard for them to garner a sale. Many will resort to an almost child-like game of finger pointing and spreading disinformation to try and pay their bills. You won't find that as much with the actual Manufacturers - mostly just Dealers and their minions lol. If you hear something negative about any brand product out there - spend the time to demand tangible proof (like talking to an actual customer who is not in any way affiliated with the sport in any way). This takes some time but worth it with this kind of investment. I've found that it usually ALWAYS leads back to someone who is selling something - or best buddies with someone who is selling something. My best advice is to stay away from Social Media and listen more to those who have nothing to gain by providing you information. Talk to customers and not so much salesmen/women. The information will be so much more accurate.

Tucker is a great guy! His hard work on UA-cam has helped all Manufacturers across the board to get the sport out there, so we're actually very grateful for what he does... This is a great example of information being omitted though so I'm glad you let us know where the concerns were... Tucker's first unit that he learned to fly on was a BlackHawk. Beginners are quite hard on their units and often overlook things like pre-flight inspections and maintenance issues. Our warranty is amazing and another reason why so many Pilots - especially beginners - choose us.
Tucker has been sponsored (in one way or another) by several brands over the years and absolutely has a strong allegiance to those companies - rightfully so. His channel is very entertaining, but still an example of someone who is strongly connected to the Industry-side of the sport. Keep talking to as many Pilots as you can who don't sell anything. The information will be so much less "muddy." Weather you buy from us or someone else, we just want you to be safe and have the time of your life! We hope you consider talking to us when the time comes. We look forward to it!

@@blackhawkparamotor I like Tucker and I recall the video where he was testing a used BlackHawk that was not in pristine condition. Later on Tucker admitted that it appeared that the unit had been treated badly. Also, I have seen many different motors reviewed that had cracked exhaust pipes. It may be the most common problem of every brand. I'm just in the information gathering phase, but I think Tucker had no malice in his heart. It was a straight-up review of a used, mistreated machine that happened to be a BlackHawk. For all the rest, it looks like brand snobbery or brand loyalty is pretty rampant in the PPG community. It may not be pretty, but it is normal.
