    Amazing how lighting can change a color so much. Lobster Roll under your bright lamp looks like such a gorgeous pink! I’ve just started watching your ‘watch me work’ videos not too long ago. I personally love the music + hearing you explain your process as well as the client’s nails and how you go about working on them. The music is just right. Not overpowering your voice but still noticeable. Also thanks for explaining what shellac is!

    Hi Anna! My ears perked up when you mentioned Lobster Roll. When I would go to the salon my favorite go to polish was Tutti Frutti and Lobster Roll!! I loved wearing CND until I developed those white patches on the nail plate. I was mortified! 😕 I also developed horrid sensitivity to my PNF and nail plate. The last time I went and the technician used the cuticle nippers I thought my whole skeleton was going to jump out of my body! 😂 I stopped shellac after that and tried vinylux…same issue with white patches. I started to doing my own nails which was relaxing to me…🙂! Now I’ve found YOU!!! So now I do my gentle manicures and my nails are so healthy!! 🥰 I’m so happy I found your channel!!! Thank you for all you do and your expert advice!!! Blessings to you Anna!!! 🥰❤️🙏🏾🤗

    It would be so helpful if you could create a future video of how to clean and sterilize nail tools, more specifically for tools used at home and not pro salon methods.
    I'm also concerned about how to clean and sanitize glass tools like the glass nail files and the glass cuticle sticks. Can they withstand boiling in water? Or soaking in isopropyl alcohol (70% or 90%?)? I have two glass files--one that has a pretty painted handle and another that has some gemstones attached. I'm hoping not to ruin them.

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  Рік тому

      Hello there :) For personal use just wash the tools with brush, soap and water and soak for 10 min in 70% isopropyl alcohol. 70% is better than 90% for disinfection purposes, the water content is necessary.
      You don't need to sterilise your own tools as you are not doing anything invasive manicuring your nails and you are not sharing your tools.
      The only exception would be if you are filing fungal nails. Then use disposable file, use it only for the affected nails and throw it out after each use.

    Thank you for this, your videos are so helpful. I have just started to go back to soak off gels rather than using an e file to remove the gel. When I removed the CND, the base was also stuck fast to the nail plate. I'm wondering if I reapply the base will the acetone still be on the left over base and so cause premature lifting?

    I have a question regarding removing the shine from the the nail plate.
    Does the nail plate have to be chalky and textured like in most videos I see when prepping for gel?
    Are you using the 240 buffer to remove the shine?
    Do you have to remove the shine when using regular polish?
    Thanks!

    CND shellac is not only thin but it doesn’t goop out into my cuticles when curing (I use their lamp). Every gel polish I used has done this but shellac color stays where I applied it. Have I gotten crap gel polishes or is this just the nature of them?
    I noticed my shellac comes off more butterfly like if I am diligent about putting cuticle oil on my nails each day.

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  11 місяців тому

      Interesting observation about the easier removal when you use oil.... I definitely have to test this out!!
      Yes, CND Shellac has a unique consistency. It feels more like nail polish. Majority other polishes shrink.
      If your gel polish is running and touching your skin you might be applying it way too thick though....

    • @mcca0584

Not that I recommend them going that long. It's just how it happens sometimes with clients. Usually, my gel clients are every 4 weeks. 😊
